Great update east side I was so looking forward for this update on the MBUC as I’m super excited about this particular project the govt is getting done. According to the rendering 12:06 that actual site is the Juicy Patty restaurant. The Popeyes is a little bit to the right of the front of Juicy where that wall is standing to the right of the foundation. But hey we shall see if FCJ where incorrect with the announcement or maybe they switch space with juicy 🤷🏾‍♂️.

Getting its first ever KFC is awesome as it is for the parish, but getting a Popeyes too? That alone shows how seriously the government is investing into St. Thomas. While every other parish (minus Hanover) has a KFC at this point; Kingston & St. Andrew, Manchester, St. Catherine, St. James, Clarendon and Westmoreland are the only other parishes with a Popeyes, and it's awesome to see St. Thomas soon join in on the ranks.
My hope is that the area's surroundings get enhanced over time too, so it starts looking more and more like a developed area worthy of leading into the Urban Center.

@@Stonygut1865 The fact that you are saying this means you don't know what is happening here. I don't know if you are just saying this because it is easy to, but KFCs in Jamaica are very rarely in isolation. They are usually within key economic areas and corridors in Jamaica, and is often just an easy way to show its significance/importance. KFC is a result of that development, NOT the source/marker. Why do you people take things out of context, eliminate subtext and think that the physical building itself IS the problem??
Also for the record; a tertiary level (university) institution IS indeed coming there, along with government entities, BPO companies and other private sector entities.

Some years ago while studying I had the task of defending St. Thomas as being a parish. My mates said that to be considered a parish in Jamaica, there had to be special markers (stoplight and KFC Restaurant), which was and is still absent from the parish. I had to be creative with my line of defence and let them know that we were healthy eaters and careful drivers so there was no need for any of the markers.
While we were just having fun with each other, some basic things are seen as markers for growth in a parish.
