Approximately 3,000 jobs are to become available to the people of St Thomas through the development of the Morant Bay Urban Centre on the site of the old Goodyear factory in the town.

This JLP Government is really a good one for Jamaica. I have been following the progress of the country since 2016 and it has been wonderful.

@@mikeblackwood552 It mentioned that it will be heavily secured with physical barriers, CCTV and police station will be on site. Additionally, it will have inexhaustible energy sources in the form of wind energy which it says will save 60% of energy among other things....

Great news for my parish!! I love this. Additionally, I hope they will start on the highway from Kingston to St Thomas. We definitely need this since the roads going into St Thomas are not the best, yet thankful for the project, one thing at a time. Bless up Andrew Holness & Popcaan!!👍
I love it this it lifted me up to get ready to return to my beautiful country don't matter whats going on it's my home, things happening everywhere, over here where I am its getting hard the government taking away everything from the poor and put more stress on us to live a good life. Kudos to our government and their partners for having such a great insight. These are the type of projects and decisions that we yearned for over these years. I hope this is not one of dem! Because, a section if the old Goodyear Building was refurbished by Paulwell to be a Tech Center! Not a single person ever put foot in a class there. Million was spent...a certain star boy security company was securing an empty building!

Its good that all this development is happening but why are they not strengthening the dollars so the people can enjoy exploring the world the same way these foreign nationals can come and enjoy Jamaica without breaking their backs overworking themselves to earn the money. Those foreign developers should have to employ Jamaicans and not bring their own labourers.
@Vads Thompson my concern is the Jamaican dollar holding its own with the rest of the world, Jamaicans being able to earn a descent wage with the same ease as the foreign nationals being brought to Jamaica to work for the foreign investors.

Get rid of the 98% of corrupted police n arrest the 95% of corrupted politicians n Jamaica will be restored to its rightful place. Stop talking bout separating police from gangs the leopard cannot change its spots. Get rid of all of them to make restoration. Make new laws n amendments to secure the future. No more foolishness..
Design look good n looks eco friendly. Full time them put the old good year facility to proper use. Popcaan n PM a whole a reason. Government n politicians need to reach out n make entertainers more inclusive to what a gwan. I had to see this again, this is not Morant Bay, this is Spring Field where the old Goodyear factory was ( between church corner and Springfield) maybe I may be forgetting the area anyone has an idea.mmmmmmmmmm maybe for the parish, yes, I am so surprised that it took so long for a look at ST Thomas as one of the backbones of the JLP especially the Morant Bay and Lyssons area where there is practically no good road.
Here is my question about this center....the reason for building it is because the town is too small but they are going to squeeze all these thing in a small place......wouldn’t it make more sense to build all the building around the town of morant bay build more road expanding the town and add a Kentucky what the people are asking for
