The flooding in St. Thomas has been going on for generations. It is going to take time to put some reasonable solutions in place. Time will tell if CHEC can eliminate all of the flooding or just reduce the amount of flooding that takes place during heavy rains. The people who make is sound like a simple fix, do not understand the nature of the problem.

St. Thomas has a problem with flooding for a long time now made worse by the road works. Bad drainage system no where to take the water off the roads. People build roads in dangerous places under the watchful eyes of the council

Let's wait for the end result before we criticize, not while the work is in progress.

Keep up the good work. I will disagree with one thing you have said. You commented that at the time when you and Klarity made that small drain, it wasn't effective. I would say it was more than effective. As a journalist, your duty is to report/highlight events happening or that have happened. You brought attention to the flooding that was happening, and using pieces of makeshift tools, showed that making drains in the area to lead the water off the road would alleviate the flooding. Not long after you and Klarity posted your videos, tractors were there making openings for the water to run off the road. You did not only highlighted the problem, you also provided a simple solution.

All this happened because they failed to open tranches to lead the water off the road.. Poor planning..

I like watching your videos and you are good with the drone. I just need to correct you when you said the water table is low. I think you meant high. A high water table means the water table, that is the water in the soil is close to the surface and therefore the area will flood easy as the soil cannot absorb much water becomes it becomes too much.

Why send tractor out to clear paths during the rain? Almost like they didn't learn anything from all the previous rainfall and flooding in the area. Reactive versus proactive approach.

People must understand that this work in progress patience is needed,First Tim history ST Thomas getting this type of road rehab,

Roadways looking really bad in this area. Poor planning and prioritization of work. Contractor digging up too many places at the same time.

The contractor dug up the road and kept the speed limit the same. What kind of foolishness is that? Plus dust all over the place. A lot disrespect being shown to commuters and residents. CHEC need to do a better job.

It took 3 years to get it to pave now poor materials no independent testing lab

Eventually it gonna be a 4 lane road but for now this is good enough, my main issue now is the upkeep the roads full of debris and the side walk them full up a gravel and sand is like yallahs no longer have street sweepers

All I can see down there in the swamp is dirt and mall, where are the stones? School me Eastside ineed to know.

This is no doubt an impressive change in my exact place of birth, but did they make plans for vehicular traffic? Because just the university alone will create an insane amount of traffic, including the taxis. Thanks for retaining one of the original Goodyear buildings. Loving the progress and can’t wait to see the finished product and the employment and opportunities it brings to the parish.
