I hate when people say with what you know like I mean that College charges all them kids to go to that school and they got millions and millions and millions of dollars you can't afford some drywall and you know some Carpenters that can tear out some old mold spots or replace it.I mean you can't afford to pay janitorial system to clean and pick up trash and sanitation? It's just ridiculous. IF I was those kids or parents of in a school paying to go there with those conditions id transfer and have that institution close its doors. It doesn't matter if its a all green college white or red if they charge to go to that institution all facilities should be kept up daily and if not you shouldn't be OPEN for buisness period. Those kids paying good money to go there and i know theres levels to this but still its atrocious. Get better funding or spend your funds better or close your doors. It should be illegal for any college or school to operate in those terrible conditions but ppl accept those conditions as normal and IT SHOULDN'T BE Because It is not NORMAL on any CAMPUS Nor should it be acceptable for ANY Human Beings PAYING TO GET AN EDUCATION. Most public schools operate better than that level i mean Cmon . Shut em down and Uncover the CORRUPTION or Bad Management of said Administration then Fix those issues and reopen. That should be The only way forward because greed will never stop. These lower level Schools and its upper management in my opinion are taking advantage of these kids for a Buck or Ran by the wrong ppl unable to manage the funds appreciate. Either way it HAS TO STOP. And ACCOUNTABILITY ENFORCED on behave of those young men and women paying to reach there hopes and dreams deserve THAT!

@@treyspaulding46 Verrrrrrrry Well said!!! Shannon say you cant change something thats been that way 100 years. I say its a damn shame!! And Prime and Ed were shining a light on what feels like CORRUPTION by the school administration. Where is the money going? How dont you have the basic funds to clean the campus!! Who know what else is Broken in these institutions?? EVERYTHING IS NOT A FUNDING ISSUE!! Some of this is couth and class!! You make the kids and staff endure squalor conditions but you have donors and alumni and local corporate investment and government grants. This is the $64,000 question..... If all these HBCU's produce doctors lawyers businessmen government employees and HALL OF FAME athletes every year.... Why cant they get their alumni to donate money back into the school??? Ill give you one theory..... The students see that over their time at that school certain things NEVER got fixed or never got cleaned. No matter how much fund raising or donations were given. And they know theres a question about the priority of these funds!! WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?? These administrators have carved out a nice little hustle for themselves. Its like claiming a failed business for tax purposes. Whos gonna give them folks money when they know they never see the fruits if all this "fundraising!" Its a damn shame.

As a recent graduate of BCU 2016-2021 (undergrad and grad)... these problems that Ed brought to the world have always been at BCU. The best thing that can happen from this is that they reconsider Ed Reed to be the HC, because anyone that gets this job now has to have those issues addressed before signing a contract. Let Reed and his donors do that that they told him they would do. And the University keeps its money to go where it's needed in other places.

The strategic move would have been to record a video first, using tactful language to highlight the issues, but hold it. Then approach the Admin and give them an opportunity to correct the issues. After some reasonable period of time, if the Admin doesn't act, release the video, but only if you're prepared to face the consequence of losing your position. Ed Reed overplayed his leverage and denied the very real presence of human ego. Office politics 101.

It wasn't that BCU was underfunded, as many HBCU's are. It was that they didn't take care of what they had and didn't care to change it. If all you can afford is a 1998 Corolla, take care of it like it's a 2023 Mercedes. Until one day you can afford a new Mercedes. It doesn't take but effort and planning to do it. Ed didn't expect millions to pour in. He expected a higher standard with the resources they had, and that was too much for them.
