My daughter is finally old enough to play this game and we got it to the table last night. She had a blast! It was fun to revisit your older videos and reminds me of when we played it at the TABLE convention in Dallas all those years ago.
I run an after school board game club and I picked this up recently. I have used your videos to teach the kids the basic rules of various games. I really appreciate your friendly, insightful, easy to understand explanations of these game. Thank you for your postings!
+Scott Mellum That's so nice to hear - so glad you've enjoyed the videos and have found them good for sharing. And good on you for sharing the hobby through the club!
always love your game videos! unbelievably thorough without being talkative. concise and complete. certainly a joy to watch. thanks so much for your help learning how to play these wonderful games!
Just got this game. Amazing gameplay. I appreciate the simplified explanation/demonstration, really helped clarify some questions we had. Thanks again.
My kids are 4 and 7 and I think they would love this game even without the rules for scoring and teeth. After watching this video I'm going to my local Hastings and pick up the copy of "Rampage" that has sat on the shelf for months. As always, thanks for the video. You are the Bob Ross of gaming, Rodney Smith!
voldog74 Hope the kids (and you) have a blast :) Also keep in mind, the game may be on the shelves as Terror In Meeple City (Rampage was the older name before they had to change it).
Thank you for the playthrough and for all of your videos. I didn't think that Rampage was a game for me and I stayed away from it, but after watching the entire playlist I too want to go on a Rampage. My copy is now sitting on my shelf, eagerly awaiting our next board game night :) Keep up the great work!
Another thanks to Rodney for this great video. We got this for our son for Christmas and I knew right where to go to get the most clearly explained rules tutorial on the net. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Rodney.
Thank you so much for posting these How To Play videos! I have enjoyed the games that I have watched so far. I bought 7 Wonders because of the Watch It Played with your son and daughter. Love that they are involved! Makes for a great diversity of age and game choices. Rampage looks super fun and I plan on it being a next buy! Thank you for the great positive fun attitudes and EXCELLENT explanations. Blessings to you. Keep up the great fun. ;)
Hi Rodney! I think I have now watched every one of your videos! I'm finding that this format of showing the game in action really helps me know if a game is right for me and my group better than a straight up review. I appreciate the time you put into this! I have a question: I know that you likely have the next several games planned out, but I wonder if you will do a playthrough of Mage Knight in the near future? It looks like a really interesting game, but I'd really like to see it played before I make the investment, seeing as it is a rather complicated game. Thanks for this channel! It's a real boon to me and my gaming group.
First off, thanks for the kind words. No plans to cover Mage Knight at this time. You're right, it's a complicated one and I would need to book at least a month off to work on that one, which my current schedule wouldn't allow. Ricky Royal of Box of Delights has a great series on it though.
Great job Rodney. I was actually thinking about getting this one as it has a components for both me and my wife. Wife = meeples. Me = destroying stuff.
This will be a really fun playthrough! I'm guessing you can also claim destruction if you manage to knock over a building with your paws? (Now I understand why the 'ruin' floors are slightly raised)
The next game you should play is King of Tokyo. I'm very interested in how it plays and if you show it on your videos it would be nice before purchase. Thanks!
The rules show it pictured standing up, but I don't see the illustrations as anything more than examples. The rules don't write out how you must hold them.
Seems like a game where the bigger player may have the advantage. Then again, the bigger player probably risks getting more runaway meeples as well. Also, quite the challenging game to suggest moves in, with all the inexact results that may occur.
cool, I saw a video where some people were playing this but it was a giant version of the board. I was wondering what size the regular version was. how would you say it feels playing this game Rodney? does the board feel like it's the right size or does it feel too small?
Ryan James The wording in the rule book, as I recall is "during acts of destruction", which I think would include throwing cards and blowing, if not moving.
Hahaha, yes, you do have to basically let go of concerns about pieces flying everywhere :) Though honestly, I rarely find the pieces go too far off the board, which is nice.
Never heard about this game... It looks funny to play with my son...thanks for the review...If I may to ask... which one between "rampage" and "king of new york" do you think is funier? I had KONY in mind for my next buy...but now I doubt... Cheers
Hey Julian, I can't help you there, as I don't review or recommend games for other people. There are several reviewers out there who can tell you what they think though. Perhaps that will help.
Ranerdar Yep, the bases, or "ruins" portions of the buildings don't move If you flicked it hard enough you "might" just the paws to flip up and hit the building, but it's also more likely to go off the board, causing you to lose a tooth too - so it's risky!
How do you play this game and not lose pieces? I'm super scared that those meeples will go flying everywhere and I'll lose all of them. Knowing my group of friends, something will definitely go wrong. Do you have any tricks that make them not go missing?
I've seen my family and friends when playing "spoons" I can just imagine the carnage this would create. Thinking I will stick with King of Tokyo for my Kaiju themed game.
Weird ... The last couple of weeks I did no e-maiö-notification for all the different videos you have uploaded. Google and TH-cam must have changed things - again! *grmbl* Anyway: Looks like an interesting game. And somehow it screams at me: "You loose game-material! Quicker than at the speed of light ... ! So I wonder: Did the publisher add enough game-tokens that loosing the one or the other meeple may be no issue at all? The more I think about this I guess it might be a very good idea to put some extensions on the table's borders - like kind of a heightened frame or something making your table to a "makeshift casino-dicing-table" of sorts ... That way you won't have to care too much about items dropping to the floor ...
Very strange Anton. We put a video up every 3 days at least, so if you notice us missing, something is up! We haven't lost any pieces yet, but it's something to watch out for. (they don't provide extras).
***** I think he could mean by deliberately aiming away from meeples, or using extremely weak attacks, so as to not affect the meeples. Otherwise, cheating by not using valid attacks only harms your chances of winning.
I'm able to do the show full time because we have people who back our yearly fundraisers. Certain donation levels get you put in the producers list, because those people are ensuring I can keep creating videos.
My daughter is finally old enough to play this game and we got it to the table last night. She had a blast! It was fun to revisit your older videos and reminds me of when we played it at the TABLE convention in Dallas all those years ago.
Wow, great being reminded of that TABLE convention memory :) So glad your daughter enjoyed the game too!
You have very watchable videos and they're the best I've seen for explaining how the games are played without making my eyes glaze over.
Glad you've enjoyed them Mark!

Very nice of you to say William - thanks so much!

Hope you and your fellow monsters have a very fun time with it Brandon :)
Have fun with this one team Smith ! Something innovatative and sure to give you some laughs. Gteat choice for the show !!! Best wishes, Rivk
Hey Rich, Thanks for the playthrough of Robinson Crusoe.
I have a much better idea of how to play it :)
Antoine really took a different approach with this one :)
Excellent instructional, great, quality run-through of the rules. This will be a great addition to my library.
Thanks for watching - always good to have a ninja on your side :)
***** You would think it would give me an edge in games like this, but alas, it does not.
Love your show. You have inspired my kids and I to embrace gaming. We have hours of quality family time to thank you for!
Wow Gerald that's truly wonderful to hear!
Another thanks to Rodney for this great video. We got this for our son for Christmas and I knew right where to go to get the most clearly explained rules tutorial on the net. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Rodney.

Hey, with viewers like yourself, believe me, it's a total pleasure!
I bought this game for my husband for Father's Day (here in the States it is in June) and I appreciate the tutorial on how to play! Thanks, Rodney.
Nice Father's Day gift!
***** I certainly hope he likes it!
Very good timing - just got my copy today! Awesome, thanks! :)
Hope this helps speed things along :)
You help a LOT! Thanks so much!
Fantastic Rodney! We are working on this one as well!!!
I look forward to it!
I so need to get this game for the family and I. Love it, Love it, Love it. Thanks for sharing this.
You betcha Pep :)
Oh man, I'm really looking forward to the gameplay video! :)
Going to try to get it out soon.
This will be soooo good, can't wait to see the playthrough ;-)
Hope you enjoyed it :)
This game looks like a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to the gameplay videos!
Hope you enjoyed the play throughs :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out. :)
Great game with a surprise amount of controlled strategy. Look forward to seeing who knocks out the most meebles out of the city!
Great job Rodney. I was actually thinking about getting this one as it has a components for both me and my wife. Wife = meeples. Me = destroying stuff.
Great combo :)
Loved it. Work on that dragons breath!
Yep - needs practice!
This will be a really fun playthrough!
I'm guessing you can also claim destruction if you manage to knock over a building with your paws? (Now I understand why the 'ruin' floors are slightly raised)
You can eat floors and people no matter what knocks things over (well, as long as it's not your hands or something outside of the 4 main actions).
Please do the play through soon!
Thanks for another great How To Play. Anyone ever tell you you're the best at it?
Cause I just did.
Very kind. Hoping to start the playthrough very soon!
This looks like so much fun.
That.looks.amazing!! should add an interesting dynamic as half my group are asthmatic lol. Now going for the wheezing phase ;)
That was embarrassing!
Interesting can't wait to watch
Editing the gameplay video now. Hoping to have it out on Wednesday.
Looks awesome!!
Thanks for checking it out!
This is going to be a great one with the kids! :D
Great vid Rod, but when are you doing a play through? Wanna see it action :)
It's uploading now :)
Great video
The next game you should play is King of Tokyo. I'm very interested in how it plays and if you show it on your videos it would be nice before purchase. Thanks!
No plans to cover it yet, but it's one that would be fun to do for the show.
Nice video!
This game is the best they should make more of this
Glad you've enjoyed the game :)
Pretty original gameplay..!! And without any dice-rolling, you might just stand a chance against Luke ;)
I'm hoping so!
this game looks awesome. A quick question through. When doing a smash, can you drop the monster on its side instead of standing up?
The rules show it pictured standing up, but I don't see the illustrations as anything more than examples. The rules don't write out how you must hold them.
Excellent thanks. I looking forward to the gameplay videos.
Seems like a game where the bigger player may have the advantage. Then again, the bigger player probably risks getting more runaway meeples as well. Also, quite the challenging game to suggest moves in, with all the inexact results that may occur.
Yep - should be interesting to see how that part of it works :)
cool, I saw a video where some people were playing this but it was a giant version of the board. I was wondering what size the regular version was. how would you say it feels playing this game Rodney? does the board feel like it's the right size or does it feel too small?
Yes, they had a large version for demos at conventions.
This doesn't feel too small to me.
Looks like fun!
Did you get a chance to try it?
Very interesting! It seems like it might be difficult to get your chin in there for blow actions if your monster is in the middle.
I don't always enforce the "you must be seated" rule in those cases.
***** I believe the "you must be seated" rule only applies for the demolish action.
Ryan James The wording in the rule book, as I recall is "during acts of destruction", which I think would include throwing cards and blowing, if not moving.
***** Right you are, Rodney. I stand (or rather, sit with my arm parallel) corrected.
Ryan James Very good :)
How do you get the meeple stickers?
They came with the first print run of the game, is my understanding.
Hope you play this with Luke and Andrea. Carnage and mayhem!
Also, no dice!
Not sure if Andrea will be free or not.
meeples, meeples, you are standing on the meeples!!!!
This game looks fun to play, but not own. I think i'd get too anxious when people started blowing the pieces :) Great video and well explained.
Hahaha, yes, you do have to basically let go of concerns about pieces flying everywhere :)
Though honestly, I rarely find the pieces go too far off the board, which is nice.
How long does this game take to set up? That looks like a lot of pieces.
It takes a little bit, but usually if all the players are helping out, it goes very fast.
Perhaps that will help.
thanks for youtr reply...I will probably get both of them... and the doubt will be resolved on my table hahahah Cheers...!!!
Julian Diaz Ha! No better way :) They are very different styles of games, so I don't think you'll feel like you bought something similar.
There something to stop you from flicking your paws as hard as you can to attempt to knock down a building?
The buildings are slightly raised off the board. You'll just bounce off.
Ah, gotcha.
Do you have any tricks that make them not go missing?
faceboooker Just being careful :) Haven't lost any yet!
where is cthulu in this one? Is it because he has no teeth, only a beak (he does have a beak, right? like good octopi have)
He would be too overpowered :)
Muahahaha! Wanton destruction! Sounds like my kinda game!
YES!!!!
What if you shoot your paws and destroy something in that process? Is that allowed? And what is the next step?
+Robbert Vervuurt That is allowed. You continue your turn as normal.
So Rodney : you took a skill game so you might increase you odds of winning?
I won't deny it :)
Rodney, this is a game with no dice...how is Luke still beating you? Should you have a leg up on this one?
You would think so!
I just fear losing pieces each time it's played.
A fair concern :)
*grmbl*

so dungeon petz? you gonna do it you have it p.s. look it up on here maybe youll find a how to play
I have it, but haven't learned it yet. We'll see.
"The entire game board is the city, and it's divided into neighborhoods by color." Sounds similar to most of the cities I've been to in real life!
Unfortunate, but sometimes true.
Great video as usual,Weak blow attack there buddy, Do you smoke?
I do not... I just utterly failed on that one!
So you could win by cheating in a 2 player game side A board when you are x away from 'the end'?
Not sure I understand what you mean. Remember, the person who places the meeple on the board that causes the end, automatically loses.
***** I think he could mean by deliberately aiming away from meeples, or using extremely weak attacks, so as to not affect the meeples. Otherwise, cheating by not using valid attacks only harms your chances of winning.
why do you have 200+ producers?
I'm able to do the show full time because we have people who back our yearly fundraisers. Certain donation levels get you put in the producers list, because those people are ensuring I can keep creating videos.
Hehe you said 'Super Secret Power' instead of Secret Super Power :P
I knew that would trip me up!
