    • @Beige1997
      @Beige1997 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Thanh Nguyen I wouldn't blame you. People criticize the heck out of it, but there's really nothing wrong with it. It just doesn't offer quite the same bang for your buck that the N4 and N5 did. It's not a HUGE upgrade from the N5, but it's an upgrade nonetheless.

    Michael, the main reason why you haven't reached 4 hours of screen on time is because of T-Mobile's spotty coverage you're getting. I'm sure if you pop in an AT&T sim you'll get much more juice out of it. I'm getting 3-5 hours of screen on time on my Moto X Pure Edition. This is by far the best Android smartphone of 2015 IMO.

      I was just about to order a Moto X Pure until I saw the sale on the Nexus 6. $350 is an unbeatable deal for a device with those specs. The Moto X is a little better in every regard but with tax, it's a little over $100 more expensive if you compare the 32gb version.

    • @6speeds10
      @6speeds10 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fadil Karim that was exactly my thought as well. Heck, I ended up paying less for my Nexus 6 that I did for my 32gb Nexus 5 when I bought it brand new.

    Can't wait to get me one. going to use my Zenfone 2 until the holidays then get me a Moto X Pure Edition with 32 gb, a white front, gold trim, deep sea blue silicon back, red accents. it's going to be a beaut. That only costing me $450 is a steal and the nexus base model being $350 is amazing also. I'm more of a customization person so Moto X Pure is what I want and need.

    @abestream5 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was a good comparison but it didn't point out the current price cut on the Nexus 6. Taking that into consideration the Nexus 6 is a full $100 cheaper currently and these devices then appear a lot closer. Choosing the XPE becomes a matter of whether the improvements are worth paying a $100 extra for.

    the Nexus 6 is going to be the winner for me..Why.?.simple, because, I had it for a year and never ever had given me no issues what so ever. It don't have even a scratch, I have like 12 cases, is all paid off and is running better than ever.. with a daily 5.5 hrs SoT I don't even need no other phone for now. these front facing speakers there is no other Moto can beat them. I'm a well satisfied proud Nexus 6 owner. That is still in love with like that first time.. I'll pass on any 2015 phone for now.. no but thank you.

    Would your sentiments be the same if the phones were priced equally? Basically, would you get rid of your Nexus 6 for the Moto X? I get that it's better in certain aspects, but is it worth upgrading to from a Nexus 6, essentially costing more out of pocket?

    I own both devices, and am currently using the X Pure as my daily driver. Both are fine devices, and will pretty much serve all your Android needs. However, there is one major factor that sets these devices apart...the active display. Even with the IR sensors disabled, Moto active display smokes the Nexus 6 Ambient display. Just a slight nudge, and Moto display does its thing. Ambient display is a bit erratic and unpredictable. Because of this, I think the Nexus 6 would be better suited for the IR sensors. I keep mine disabled on the X Pure because they're too sensitive. I definitely appreciate the lack of bloatware on both devices, though. If I had to stick with just one, and it's a tough call, I would probably go with the X Pure.

    Thanks for the great comparison. That video was unbelievable better than the Nexus 6. I wish the battery from the Play was in the Pure but since I'm upgrading from a Nexus 5 I'm sure I'll be happy. I'll probably reduce the pixel density to get more battery life though.

      +Dadou I bought a 32gig N6 (new) for $385 (Rs. 24999) here in India. I thought I got a decent deal (not as good as yours i know lol) as the moto X Style here is priced at $492.99 (Rs. 31999). While I do agree that overall the X Style is the clear winner here, every device has it's strengths and weaknesses which is relative to it's user. In my case, I was pretty clear about what I wanted from my next device -
      1) A price tag of less than 400usd,
      2) stock android,
      3) fastest updates,
      4) a decent enough camera,
      5) a QHD screen,
      6) as massive a display as I could get while still having a phone (for a good multimedia consumption experience) ,
      7) amoled (personal preference, coming from a Moto X previous version, I wanted a bigger version of it)...
      8) ...and a powerful enough CPU & GPU....
      ...while battery life and storage are also fairly important to me, i was ok with the way it is (nothing's perfect!)
      So yea...at the end ...it's what makes you happy and serves your personal needs the best I guess :-)

    The potentially underwhelming battery in the Moto X is what is keeping me at bay in making this my next phone. After owning a Nexus 5, which is a phone I love, I've haven't had any problems that were too crazy, I never liked the idea of having to boost halfway during the day, I really don't want to have the same experience in a new phone. Maybe if they didn't stuff a QHD into the Moto X Pure, the battery would've been stellar, right now it's seems like too many pixels to push is what's keeping the 3000 mAh battery inside the X from being a truly full-day battery.

    Okay so here I am. Struggling between these very phones. So what should I get? I'd love to know which of the two has better battery life. Like day to day casual use. Not like all these "benchmarks" people say. I'd say a normal usage like wifi almost for 7 hours of the day open apps like facebook and watch videos on youtube and casual gaming to kill time. And music on external sources and using phone speakers and such. You know like real people doing a lot of things kinda usage. Not like exaggerated usage to just test a phones battery.

    • @Sagittarius-88
      @Sagittarius-88 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Shazer I own both devices, and would describe my usage as "normal day to day". While I do appreciate the "1st in line for updates" of the Nexus devices, I would go Moto X Pure. Not that it's head and shoulders above the Nexus 6, but at the end of the day, that's the phone I'd pick as my daily driver.

    at 4:44, that screen on the nexus 6 looks GROSS!!!......looks like muddy water!!!, bought an Atrix HD a while ago and looked up the screen tech on it --it uses TFT just like the new moto x 2015...GLAD the went with THAT tech instead of AMOLED like moto 2014(which I have-can BARELY see in sunlight). The Atrix looks better than the iPhone 4(work phone) when comparing them.... might just buy the moto 2015 because of the new screen!!

    No android phone this yr has me excited. I'm actually more interested in the HTC aero than the nexus 5X. Guess I'll have to buy a iPhone or 2014 flagship.

    nice battle. very tough. but I can't give up my 6inch screen and AMOLED display for LCD and the Moto X pure is 5.7. you lose a wireless charging too. something to consider. but if you after what I like than get the moto x. hands down. either one. you can't lose.

    Is this video about selling the Moto X? The Nexus 6 has a super good screen and camera.

    I have seen the Nexus 6 (32GB) for $349 on AMZN VS. the Moto X pure (16GB) for $399. Those are the only affordable choices that I have to stay on Verizon's grandfathered LTE unlimited. Thoughts? Thanks. I also love to run custom roms, so I'm pretty sure the Nexus 6 is better for me.

      Nexus would be better for you. Unlocking the bootloader is necessary in order to root and install roms on the moto x. And that voids warranty

    I wish Moto make the X 6.2" and remove on-screen buttons. I like big screen and hate on-screen buttons taking up space.

    I definitely will go for the new moto X pure edition. It's a lot better than the nexus 6, especially when it comes to screen brightness.

    The problem is Moto Maker doesn't exist in Canada so we don't get all the cool customized stuff on the Moto X :(

      +jstyledipset Does anyone know if the phones will work if we use the US Motomaker and have it shipped to Canada? I'm on Bell. The specs on the Pure are better than on the Play too.
