- Dragon Age: Inquisition - All Mage Specializations Abilities (With Upgrades)
Timestamps and Details:
Only ONE upgrade can be active at the time (Either upgrade A or upgrade B)
NECROMANCER
00:10 - 03:19
KNIGHT ENCHANCER
03:21 - 05:45
RIFT MAGE
05:47 - 08:24
I had my Rift Mage use Pull of the Abyss with Friendly Fire on to pull teammates through locked doors and obstacles to bypass certain parts of the game.
Damn thats actually a great idea and works ! Very nice
Damn didnt know that was possible lol
@@jbabylucus1641 Yep. I discovered it after I forgot to explore the cave that the dragon in the Western Approach breaks open. Before one of the patches, the cave would close back up if you exited the map. So I was stuck outside trying to find any way to get inside after the dragon was dead. That's when I started running through every character's abilities to see if anything would work.
Knight Enchanter ( Grab all perks but the slug, Spirit Grab all perks there)
Necromancer (Grab the Spirit Bomb max it out)
Ice left perks both of them on the left and Right grab those
Lightning Two of them
Ice Wall
Use the Enchanter Blade to shatter your enemies
Assassin (Mark of Death, Hidden Blades, Bombs, Shadow cloak your party)
Templars and Champion Shield and Sword strong for the Nightmare mode that is what you need.
My advice is to use Blackwall as Barbarian Champion and Cassandra Templar Shield and Sword.
The most useful talents in this games are spirit bomb, spirit bolt, Ice, Lightning and Golem fist earth fist, Mind Blast, Mark of Death, Arrow tree Burst of Arrow, Critical shots, Arrow of Slaying, Accuracy, Wrath of Heaven, Clear area, Neutralize magic this abilities literally destroy even bosses on Nightmare which is actually much easier you press H or you custumize your tactics also on the 25% of Health you must set all your party members to take a potion of health if they drop to that it prevents them from dying..
You forgot the best part about Necromancer
Their passive ability Simulacrum.
If they die, the come back as a ghost for 60 seconds and continue to fight.
If your Necro had a staff that restores HP on hit,
They get health as a ghost and are revived free of charge.
Which means that Dorian is inmortal with the right equipment.
And the best part about Knight-Enchanter is the passive Fade Shield, your gain Barrier by using Spells, so Knight-Enchanter can also be Immortal
Also it's only spec that work well with AI (Solas and his "I will use my aoe on this 1 enemie!"), so Dorian is the best mage-companion if you don't like mico-menagment all party. I like give him few support and more cc spells and full necro. He work well on nightmare.
He's also immortal in my heart
It was a shit design choice the replacements for healing, guard and barrier, are so easy to exploit that even on nightmare by the time you get to midgame you'll be able to generate so much of either one regardless of your class that you'll literally never even take a single point of damage
@@jaydenlobbe7911 Yes, but its not the meaning of immortal, bc if the knight-enchanter is crowd controlled for long enough, then they will lose shield, making them vulnerable to death. The necromancer literally can't die, they just keep coming back!
Glad to see some new DA:I videos up on TH-cam. Always good to see people replaying it.
Of course ! Its a great game
Just started it again myself
@@DadsCigaretteRun have a great journey !
I also started playing again this helped me pick my build. Great video and a new subscriber keep up the good work
@@colbikeasler2291 Thanks a lot ! Happy you enjoyed it !
Dude I just got back into this and relearning all my shit. So cool to see this fandom still breathing!
Knight Enchanter with ice magic is so good.
It is a great mix of dps and cc, locks targets to make a multi hit Spirit Blade easier (works as a frontal area) you get extra protection with frost armor that fits the close combat playstyle and with winters grasp you can pull out crazy damage (got some 16ks flying)
That’s gonna be my next play through right after my current 2h templar character.
My favorite was always Rift Mage, with Pull of the abyss and Firestorm I felt so OP 👌
Proper combo !
I could never justify using Firestorm over Mark of the Rift. It always seemed like Mark of the Rift was just flat out better doing huge unresistable damage with instant stun and only needing 1 focus tier for full damage.
The rift blade for Knight enchanter is much more powerful than this video shows. When you max out your charges at 99, you'll hit for 1 to 2K. Combine that with fade and when you reappear inside of an enemy that hits for 1 to 2K you're hitting for about 4K in a 5 second span. Throwing out fire mines and magic missile to get your multiplier up and their resistance down, you're hitting for 5 to 6 k every rotation and absolutely annihilating everything but bosses in about 10 seconds. I'm playing on nightmare mode without a previous save file and I'm destroying everything although dragons are still kind of tough.
The weapons i used for the video were weak on purpose, mainly ones without effect so that they wont get confused with the abilities. But yes ! You are absolutely correct - the amount of dps knight enchancer can dish out is massive !
@@abilitypreview4873 It's similar to the Arcane Warrior class in Multiplayer (having a combination of Knight-Enchanter and Rift Mage abilities).
With enough Willpower, you shred through anything, while also being quite the tank, due to your ability to generate barrier on hit. In essence, if you are always initiating a fight, you should never lose one with that setup.
Knight-Enchanter / Arcane Warrior is by far the most durable class in the game, alongside Champion / Legionnaire.
I bought inquisition today and I was wondering if I could find some videos about class overviews and here you are! Rock on
Exactly what the channel is for ! Glad it was helpful
They just gave this game fps boost 60fps!!
Me "A Dai video in 2021?!??!"
One of my most favourite games. Even though it got game of the year this is still qan underrated game
The one thing I hate about dai is that there are no regular healing abilities. Its crazy to me that in a fantasy game where you can build a support mage, the only healing ability in the entire game is a ultimate gated behind a certain specialization.
I was expecting a healer specialization when i first started the game..... sadly we must resort to potions.
@@abilitypreview4873 yeah I hope they bring it back for the next game although I'm not getting my hopes up for it to be on the same lvl as the earlier ones. The bioware of old is completely gone and all thats left is a easily bullied skeleton crew of inexperienced workers. Andromeda and anthem proved that. Honestly id say this is biowares last chance befor people write them off completely as a serious developer
@@sporkinstien6571 That is IF they release another Dragon Age game
@@abilitypreview4873 They will, we had a trailer for dragon age 4 and the development began in 2015. For the healing class, dragon age 1 and dragon age 2 had one. In inquisition, with barrier and guard mechanic, a healing class will be broken as fuck
@@dorianbenedetti5841 IKR? And if you really need constant healing, why not craft weapons with Heal on KIll or the fade touched 1% heal on hit? That's very sustainable, specially for a rogue or a mage. There are regeneration potions, healing mist. All that, if used in conjunction with healing abilities, would make the game too easy. They already made the healing potions have no cooldown. Let's just try a new play style.
If you don't plan on to always be controlling your character don't pick Knight Enchanter as the AI isn't smart enough to play them.
Well put presentation of the mage specializations.. definitely going with rift mage specialty
Replaying DAI after 4 years, i forgot everything apart from how i had a mage class, this video was the only 'recent' one i could find so i thankyou heaps! x
no worries ! re-enjoy the game !
This was fun! I have just really gotten into Rift Mage (after maining Knight-Enchanter for so long) and I love it. It's so versatile!!
Thank you. I now know what specilization i am drawn to . Pity my favorite walking bomb spell i used back in Origins is a specialist spell. . .
Pull of the Abyss + Firestorm seems like quite the combination
keep making more videos like this mate, it's very good
Very much appreciated and sure will ! Thanks
I played mage my first playthrough of inquisition and really struggled to pick a specialization because I didn't really like the options you get so didn't end up using one, my second playthrough as a rogue was easy, assassin no issues.
I kind of feels like mages got a little shafted for specializations when compared to other games, but maybe that's because I prefer to specialise into spirit healer in previous games and that, in fact almost all healing abilities, aren't in this game so it makes mages take a bit more of an adjustment then previous games. Don't know why there isn't a healing focused specialization.
Then again all the specialization are a little pointless since they're just basically those of your teammates unlike in Origins where you could have multiple to have different combos or in 2 where your teammates each had unique specializations.
I remember going Knight Enchanter. Had a shield and armor from a staff or some combo of skills. I could solo a few things. Might have to try a different choice for variety
The devs should have included blood mage as a specialization…
Would be very interesting ! Maybe in the next DA
Like in Dragon Age II, hell yeah
@@macblink and origins
I was debating on going rift mage or enchanter so imma go enchanter cuz that sword spell looks fun as hell
My favourite too !
@@abilitypreview4873 I recently got back into the game since dreadwolf will be coming in a year so I’m catching up plus they’re was so many DLCs that dropped from it I never did I only beated trespasser
@@ichigozangetsugrimmjozgqp9439 fair enough, good reason to replay
@@abilitypreview4873 have ya done videos for the old games skills?
@@ichigozangetsugrimmjozgqp9439 im replaying Dragon age 2 as we speak, might release the video after God of War or Final Fantasy 16
Wow this was fantastic. Really helpful. I am replaying DA:I so I am trying to decide what class I want to try.
Glad it was helpful ! Enjoy DA:I again
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much!
You are very welcome !
Resurgence is my favorite. The visual effects are so aesthetic and it’s a great way to make up for the lack of healing magic in this game.
Of course it is aesthetic, is Vivianne's focus ability after all 😂
@@SeventhheavenDK
That’s right! The class with class 💅🏻
Necro was sooooo underwhelming, specially compared to the other 2 mage specs, I’m still not over that
So…I guess there is no summoner necromancer in this game. Uff too bad.
I always go devouring veil because of the impact. I can already weaken with stone fist and veil strike anyway.
With that damned sword i was always full of shield nearly invulnerable against enemies
its insane how lame the necramancer is.... mage abilities overall in this game are mediocre, should be bigger and more badass.
Necro is just entropy with a mask on
I'm playing this game for the first time, just beat DA2 as a mage -- so yeah I'm defiitely feeling that magic isn't as impressive in her as in DA2 or maybe even DA1
They made firestorm look lame
In the origin it was actually a storm of fire
Haste is such an epic ability...the sound, the moves...😩
I tried finishing DAI, Three times but dropped it after the first 50 hour mark. it's filled with boring fetch quests even though the main game is pretty good. This video made me want to try again after I replay Origins and 2. Thanks
Recently got all the dragon age games on steam and have been playing as a mage on origins and it seems like in inquisition mages got shafted. It seems like all the ability's for specializations here are just regular ability's in origins. Horror, Firestorm, Stone Fist etc. I am going to be playing mage through all the games so maybe it will be different when I get to Inquisition myself but from this video specializations for mages looks disappointing
Shit a new DA video. I just started another mage so I need this but my favorite class is 2handed reaver.
Though I loved the being a blood mage but sadly it wasn't an option in this game
I know im a bit late to the party but, which would be more fun for a beginner like me, necromancer or knight enhancer
How to open and select an option B?
How to unlock all this classes? Im playing in 2024 and only have four options Fire, thunder, frost and shild/suporter.
When u reach to skyhold exit skyhold and return it should be on the war map
I can't explain it but veilstrike sounds like a horse💀
KE is the best simply for the shield
What’s with the qunari rogue companion and what is your armor? Are these base game or mods?
This is Dragon Age: Inquisition with all DLC's
The qunari rogue is my main test dummy xD. He is there for distractions.
Anyone know if any of the mage specializations wartable quests give you armor? (Ex the reaver wartable quest for warriors give you the disciple armor)
All these vids would be much better with a detailed commentary
Im back here watching this again to cleanse my eyes from watching that atrocity gameplay and trailer of Veilguard.
Hope this game actually gets a FPS Boost like they said it would...
It did
Really wish the combat in this game was either faster like in DA:2 or more strategic like DA:O the story seems interesting enough but combat feels like a chore to me.
My Qunari mage was debating between necromancy and knight-enchanter; the Rift mage scared her... I have Fade-Step one second mod, as I always hesdcannon my mages as slippery little shits, so knight-enchanter specialty gonna fuck some shit up... She a Baddie tho
massive sale on ps store, is it still worth playing? i never played any DA games
It is always worth it !
@@abilitypreview4873 okay, currently downloading, thanks for the content
@@crispydinuguan1624 No worries, enjoy the great game ! Long adventure awaits. It also has a slow start, yet an interactive story later on !
Damn No BloodMage , or The Mage With The Hovering Tome Spec , I wanted to play DA I on my PS5 But I really have a hard time replaying Story Games twice cause I usually play for story and not really gameplay , was hoping to go mage this time but only knigh enchanter seems pleasing. I wish there more skill variety there’s only like 3 actual attack skills in each tree.
is this in multiplayer
Nope, it is a single player game !
melendoy kieu sihir2 na
they completely ruined haste! Thank you bioware
So this mage sucks compared to origins, even spell effects looks low tier.
at launch, Necro spells were buggy messing with enemy drops needed to do certain quests. While Enchanter was insanely OP, literally unkillable. Still pretty OP now aftet later getting nerfed.
I don't recall anything unbalanced or bugged with Rift Mage 🤔
