While the spells have brilliant colors but a slightly less spectacular show compared to Dragon's Dogma, the sound design is absolutely impeccable 👌 Revival has such an amazing and rich sound effect, I give it to all my mages just to enjoy it!
Played before, when it first came out, but it was recently on PlayStation for $2.99, bought it again for ps5, graphics are still really good for an old game. Glad I got it. This vid really helped, I wanted to do a mage character and wasn't sure which to pick. But I have now thanks to your vid! Thank you!
Really appreciate your coverage and insight on this game. Watching you and the other community creators got me to get back to Inquistion, never made it past the hinterlands because I couldn’t get a hang of the combat or what to do next. Luckily with all the YT resources, I realized I could get out of there quickly to start exploring new places!
to be honest most people didn't use it, and it was a small tree even in Origins, but the rift mage specialization is basically that. i find it to be the weakest, Solas gets it by default. if you think about it, it looks like something Solas would have. remember Wynn, the spirit that helped her at the tower is why she got two earth spells by default. but i like the other 3, the only problem is if you decide to take on some of the dragons, each of them are weak to atleast one element, but they can also be resistant to another. there's one dragon that does lightning, but is also resistant to cold. also the spirit tree is kinda earth, but it's mainly used for buffs and protective wards.
@Jeymez I had the same thought here. Remember Merrill? She has Stone Fist when you get her, since she's from a Dalish Clan with a Pariah status for her Blood Magic.
@Cameron Sivret ya i recall Merril using it, you can picture a dalish apprentice using it, because in Inquisition under the spirit tree and rift mage specialization, you'll notice how it's green, has trees, and looks like a part of nature. my guess is since the fade is how both humans and elves get there magic, for elves based on their background, this is just a theory on my part but just go with it. keepers tend to only allow one or two mages at most to stay, if your inquisitor is dalish and a mage, you were the keepers first, but you also find out that your clan had one other mage, but not much is said about them. it's funny how the dalish do a better job than the chantry does regarding the circle, by only allowing a small number of mages, you have less problems to deal with. in Merrill's case she was the only the mage, but that's the way her clan was. each clan has there own keeper, some might be ok with two mages, but other clans might only allow for one. but getting back to my point, when a young dalish starts showing signs of magic, they probably get some type of earth magic, and the rest would come from the lore they study. i wish that was something that came by default with a dalish elf, since the way the story goes, they made it seem like a dalish was meant to be there. hell they even changed the default option regarding the Hero of Ferelden being a dalish elf, and you can't even change the race to human even in the Keep. that's my one complaint about the keep, you can change the gender, but you can't change the race. i don't know why, i can understand they might not have been able to do all the race options in origins, but atleast give one option for human and the other elf. but no the warden is an elf by default, so just based on that and how the game went, an elf just seem to fit the story better. so like one person pointed out, a dalish elf mage should have earth magic, but EA is so damn lazy. no we'll just make it the same for all, ya you gotta bust your ass to get the specializations you want. here we'll give you fire, cold, and lightning, but rift mage is tied to your anchor, ya notice how it looks green. humans typically aren't known for using earth magic, some do develop it, but even Wynn if you go by story she would not have had that gift if it wasn't for that spirit. humans typically are the one's more vulnerable to blood magic and becoming abominations, because that's how we human are alot of times, whoever thought keeping a bunch of people in a tower full of magic is a disaster waiting to happen. we seen that play out in Origins, too many mages in one place. even with templars watching, there's always atleast that one person that can slip up. does Jowan ring a bell. in there world i can understand why some fear magic, it's because the person themselves can be more of a danger to themselves than they realize. how Merrill got into blood magic, she probably got it after going back to the mirror after Duncan had already said how it was tainted. everything in that cave was filled with the dark spawn taint, that's why some in the clan after awhile wanted her gone.
I gotta say... mage is kind of cool but man did they dillute it compared to the old games. There's something to be said about Winter's Grasp coming out of Hawke's hand towards his opponent like a missile compared to raising your staff and it just instantly happen. I can reason it in my head. Hawke is an apostate and learn more "combat magic" compared to circle mages, but the Inquisition mages gonna have more twirling than Origins because they been out on the field fighting to survive. I can see it, but at the same time... damn...
Hey. When it comes to "pull of the abbys" whivh upgrade would you use? The one that weakens the enemy or the one that deals 500% of weapon damage? Cant decide
I have already finished Dragon Age Inquisition, but i didn't unlocked these upgrades, for example: Wave of flame, that go foward. How can i get it? Such B as A
You are required to unlock them using skill points. To do so, find the skill you want to be upgraded and there should small icon above the main skill icon. Hover over or select them, and click unlock
@@abilitypreview4873 this is strange, because I have skill point, but my skill tree don't this opition. I'm new to this game and I don't know If I have to complete a specific quest.
Just in case if you haven't got your answer yet. Once you unlock an upgrade, both of the upgrades are unlocked but only one is active. You can swap the active upgrade by clicking the "Toggle" button in the skill description window. Open your abilities -> click on the skill with the upgrade (click the skill, not the upgrade) -> look at the description. Iirc, it should be below the skill's name

@@alphardestur5784 DDDA shares a lot of similaritues to DA:I. Its a more wider game experience. DA:I offers more exploring and story, character develplemt and own personal experience due to your choices affecting the flow of the game. I miss the melee animations for mage in dragon age 2

I learned if you freeze an enemy first then immolate them while frozen it does more damage
disappointed how come mage dont have its complete 4 elemental spell the "Earth Spell" DAO has it though...
theres one or two earth spells in the rift mage specialization i think, still kinda dumb but its something i guess

There is already a video on my channel covering that ^^
They could of been more creative with the fire and ice spells

The first upgrade makes the talents work. The second one, in addition to damage, pulls enemies instantly, which is good for mines.

Most of the upgrades paths (A or B) require the Trespasser DLC !
