    A note of appreciation: thank you for the correct pronunciation of the many tough card names of South American origin

    I'm seeing a low to the ground FLEET deck being VERY successful here. With all the good goblin pirates and excellent ship vehicles were getting in U and R, I see them doing very well.

    Scytheclaw Raptor is almost perfect for the Legacy Red Chalice Aggro with Ancient Tomb and City of Traitors. The toughness 3 leaves it vulnerable to Lightning Bolt-like removals, but it is still good there.

    The relative lack of instants and sorceries is going to be interesting. Hopefully the number of spell like effects stapled to permanents is enough to keep the gameplay nice and interactive.

    • @danielsniff6405
      @danielsniff6405 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems like a lot of the interaction is attached to artifacts

  • @danielnovella1472
    @danielnovella1472 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just seeing that crafting allows you to use cards from the graveyard. That is going to make that mechanic really useful! You don't need to sacrifice anything. Just free graveyard value

  • @MadMewMew-mu3eq
    @MadMewMew-mu3eq ปีที่แล้ว

    Some of the cards here like Seismic Monstrosaur and Trumpeting Carnosaur seem like they could work really well with Saheeli's Lettuce

  • @OneOfDisease
    @OneOfDisease ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can the trumpeting carnasaur discard itself at instant speed? It doesn't state it, but i am sure there is a rule for this kind of interaction.

    • @NizzahonMagic
      @NizzahonMagic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Like all activated abilities, you can do it at instant speed unless stated otherwise

    One good use for Brass's tunnel grinder is if you also get the Bringer of the Last Gifts (put all graveyard creatures into play while sacrificing all other creatures in play). I built a fun deck on draftsim sealed where the goal is to survive to 8 mana burning and discarding through your deck with landcycles, creating treasures until find the bringer.

    • @Shimatzu95
      @Shimatzu95 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds interesting but unlikely to come together in a real draft sadly.

    Zoyowa's Justice should be thought of as a weird flicker effect, not a polymorph. You should use it in response to removal on your creature, in response to a combat trick on your opponent's creature or to remove an aura, etc. You shouldn't be thinking of it purely as upgrading/downgrading a creature.
    That being said, 2 mana for half of Ephemerate still seems bad, especially with the crazy randomness. I'd say D or D+, not F.

    • @NizzahonMagic
      @NizzahonMagic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You don’t always get a two for one for casting Geological Appraiser or anything else with Discover. I know I’m throwing out a hypothetical, but if they counter it, you don’t get the discover trigger.

      Is has the best removal at common rate with Abrade, which in this set is insanely great, as Nizzahon said. Along side of that it has great creatures. Perhaps the only bad thing is that their God is just a 4/4 with trample, cause the ability is difficult to trigger in limited, especially the temple part

    I think red looks like a pretty strong supporting color this time around. It has a lot of great cards though it doesn't really have a cohesive plan like white and black do so I imagine it's just gonna be a strong supplement for whatever the other color is trying to do a lot of the time.

      @@NizzahonMagicI think it's even better than that; the Temple's flip trigger requires anything red and includes multiple sources. Red shouldn't have any problems getting through on attacks in this set, but there are also a bunch of red cards at lower cost and rarity that incidentally damage opponents (Edit: Not to mention so many ways to buff Ojer's power!).

    • @NizzahonMagic
      @NizzahonMagic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still think it at least deserves a build-around B+ to Bomb-range grade in decks with a few or more ways to directly zap the dome, as it were.

      @codiehennigan6007 You aren't considering the upside of just being an artifact on the board in a format where that really matters.
      You're right the card isn't efficient overall, but it's still removal with upside. You don't have to use a real card to craft it, and the format is replete with cheap evasive creatures who carry the equipment well.
