Watched this review before picking it up while on sale. Really enjoying it so far! Pro tip- turn the voices to Japanese and use subtitles. The American voice acting and dialogue is SO bad. It helps alleviate that awkwardness. While I agree there could be some better mechanics for the Boss fights, honestly I'm just kinda glad they threw something else in there to mix it up a little. The one thing I haven't solved yet though, is that it looks pretty bad on the pro, like OG bad. Maybe I need to recalibrate or move my setup. Thanks for the helpful reviews as always.

Thanks, you saved me some money. :) I was on the fence about Monsters of the Deep and having a difficult time clicking the add to cart button, and that was when I thought it was the action game presented in the trailer.
It's a solid fishing game. But you nailed it - this isn't the over the top arcade game we expected. :D
Great review. I can see myself buying this on a sale maybe, a curious distraction at least.
Ah Bryan you didn't mention the best part. The character maker part lol. Increase the size of my butt to 100%!

I just can't wrap my head around the concept of a FF fishing game. So strange.
It's all about the casualization of our AAA games.
Great review Bryan, may save this one til i can save up the cash for the PS4 Pro, may have to grab a few extra shifts.
I want Natsume to make a Reel Fishing VR.
On a side note, Doom VFR looks AMAZING!!!
apart from the counterintuitive controls(with move) ive been loving it, 0% sickness as well!

cybust it's Bryan...be careful calling him 'Brian' too many times that can trigger a mini Hulk version of himself but instead of green he turns into a shade of PlayStation Blue.....

I was sure you wouldn't recommend it since you said it was so boring, but I've been burned by FF so many time after FF10, so I actively stay away from the franchise. However, since this VR and it looks good, that alone might be good enough for me.. haha.. but I need a ps4 Pro!
Is there any offline modes, like going to fish without using the locomotions
The online portion is just some leaderboards - the actual game is an offline experience.
Are you able to free roam without annoying commentary from the game or the companion?
There's not a lot of "free roaming" in Monster. The levels are small and teleport only. But yes, once you finish the core game you can play forever with no commentary. :D

How can you make a review of a fishing game and not talk about the controls at all. Does it feel like your fishing?
Awesome game . I love it
Well...if its ever free I will check it out. But...looks like it could have been more fun... I think I just want more multiplayer stuff.
