Interesting note. My first whippet slept on top of her crate like Snoopy. Also, I took a wildlife rehab course, in which I learned to set a leg.
If you can find something like this, it’s great for emergencies. Talk to local wildlife agencies about it
There are some similarities between the sighthound breeds, but it is very important to know a rescue’s history. My last rescue whippet had been harassed by the little children in the house, so I was very careful about letting children around her. Find out as much as you can about the rescue group. Some are great about matching the dog’s personality to the family.
I recommend buying a prescription dog food from your vet because the US buys China food products that are in human and dog food. Those don’t always appear on the label, even in upscale Pet Stores. Chinese Food has lots of Toxins in it, that kill us, and killed one of my dogs.

We got our 2nd Grayhound from, forever home greyhound too! Upstate NY.🙂 We add her to the family this past December. Our 1st (boy), is now almost 9 years old! 💓🐾

I just found your channel today I love it some very useful information so thank you for that. My wife and I are in the process of trying to find a Galgo to adopt and as they are Spanish greyhounds naturally a lot of your information is very relevant.

Hi Daphne! This is a great video. I live in NYC and am interested in adopting a greyhound. I just submitted my applications to a few agencies! Do you mind answering a few questions? 1. How long did the process take from submitting your application to getting your greyhound? 2. Did the agency know your dog had separation anxiety, or was this something you discovered after getting her? 3. Did you run into any problems with neighbors complaining about her barking? I'm super weary of potentially annoying my neighbors and getting in trouble with building management!
Hi Erica! Sure thing
1. It was crazy - it took 2 weeks. This is highly unusual and the wait is more like months now
2. No - but most dogs I believe have separation anxiety and you have to train it out of them. It’s a long process please watch my separation anxiety video
3. Other than that first night, she never barks. She will when she’s super excited and is playing - but greyhounds tend not to bark and are not territorial like terrier breeds

Hi Scott! Yes I know - they changed their rule shortly after I got Daphne! My neighbor next door fell in love with Daphne and got their own rescue greyhound in December very quickly to my surprise - they went with Greyhound Angels Adoption of New jersey so try them! All the best

hey jenny! don't know if you're single but i wanted to get a greyhound as well. do you think they're good dogs for a single person?
Hi! Yes single dog mom right here :) it is a lot of work to get a dog on your own period - but I wouldn’t trade that for what I have. Greyhounds I think are the easier of most breeds. Do not choose a high energy high mental stimulation dog like a shepherd or collie unless you run marathons with them and are prepared to entertain them daily.

After watching Pet Fooled and seeing the lawsuits, I would never buy Purina or other bagged dog foods.
