Lol. I'm a grown ass man and gave up my '18 wrx "the family" car for a type r. It was either the r or a Tesla...the Tesla is a bad ass beast. But the r was just a more fun daily driver. Besides... In the back on my head with the subie was always the fear "the engine is gonna pop, the engines gonna pop...the engines gonna pop..." Gave me ease of mind. Find a buddy and test drive it first cuz the ride felt sti rough even with comfort mode on. And gets a little loud with light throttle on the freeway. Funny thing is I got the opposite reaction than I'd expect from people. The grandpa's would ask me about the car and the millenniums would tell me they can get "more bang for your buck for hp" lol. If you get the car drive it and enjoy it!
The are the best wheels for a Civic Type R. I am absolutely getting them, except I'll get them in 18x9.5 with +45 offset. They are 18.1 lbs compared to the factory 19s which are 28 lbs each. Not only do you save a total of 40 lbs of unsprung weight but these Titan 7 TS5 wheels are forged! Stronger and lighter and look tons better :)
I have a 2018 honda civic sport with a key (I live in Israel) . The function of opening the back door once exist also on my remote. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Also another tip. Press the unlock button on the fob, then press again and hold, all the windows will roll down! Also can remove the valet key, insert into the door exterior lock tumbler and turn till all doors lock and hold, the windows will all then roll up. This works on many hondas, even older ones.
Love the new improvements and the new boost blue colour option. Only wish Honda had made the driver assists like blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and lane assist optional. That’s the one thing I hate about new cars is the piece behind the rear view mirror housing the cameras and obstructing forward view.
You forgot to mention something great with the remote... Click twice the unlock button then long press on the 2nd press... In a summer hot day it is incredible, you can open all your windows without going in the car and start it...
Good to hear that Honda is addressing the FK8's overheating problems. BUT, what about the gearbox problems - eg, crunching synchro in 2nd; jumping out of 4th; and baulked changes? These problems also affected the FK2 Type-R (same gearbox), which was launched in 2015, so it's not a new problem - or is Honda merely continuing its policy of denial? We need answers, please!
The trick with the trunk is also in my 2014 Honda Civic sedan. Also if you walk up to said trunk with key fob in your pocket, you can open the trunk without taking the key fob from your pocket, while all doors remain locked. So I'm gonna assume these features are in all newer Hondas.

Insane. When Honda released Boost Blue with everything else stock I was like “eh... not a fan, but cool.” But the set up on this type R with the rims and fitment changed my perspective completely. This looks amazing. It makes the blue look enriching!
Aftermarket wheels really do justice to any of the CTR color lineups. I'm wondering what's his ride-quality like on those 19s though and how much meat does the tire have compared to what most of the crowd is flocking to (18s). Will you still have enough meat on the 19 to at least protect against a bent rim accidentally running over a pot hole for say?

Hey cool video man. Can you do a video going in depth on how the auto rev match works? I have no luck with it. On the 370z it works so well. Never had an issue. In my 2020 type r I try to auto downshift from 4th to 3rd, or 3rd to 2nd and it bogs and sounds like a fuck up. Not smooth at all. I’m still breaking in so haven’t used R+ mode yet, wonder if that changes it at all. Still a disappointment but not the end of the world, maybe I’m doing something wrong as well? But I’m ready to disable it in the settings and just manually downshift if I can’t figure it out
I own a black Type R and just saw this beautiful blue 2020 color Type R today in Southern California....what a gorgeous color! As much as I dig my black one...I’m glad this color wasn’t available in 2019...I would’ve been torn on which one to choose!😂
Another tip....if you leave brake hold on and turn off the car the e-brake will turn on automatically. Also holding the unlock button will roll down all of the windows.

How did you get the car with the carbon pack? I thought Honda doesn't produce Type R with options. I am trying to buy a Type R with carbon fiber pack and interior lighting but non of the dealer across country has it and I can't order from the Honda factory.

Hi Jason. Do you know if there's going to be a 10th generation 3-door or coupe Type R? (I typed coupe because Honda currently isn't making 3-door vehicles. I'm probably not the only person that wants a 3-door Type R, eventhough currently the majority of produced vehicles are sedans. It'll probably be economical for Honda to make Type R coupes since they currently don't make 3-door hatchbacks. The coupe variants are sufficient for Si's, so maybe the coupe variants are sufficient for the Type R powertrains. They might need stronger coupe variants.)
I noticed when he changed out the Mugen taillights he didn’t change out the small hatch light portion. I guess because the Mugen piece is non functional and the Oem will still light up. Wonder how it looks at night. Looks off though with the red to clear back to red though.

It may sound pretty stupid but i've been in situations where i pull up my parking break and forget that im in first gear. And what happens is that i release the clutch and the break saving me from ramming myself into the car in front. So idk about that one chief

How about an autostart feature? Honda can make the cpu know if it is in neutral before letting that system engage. Unless of course there is a law against having autostart in manual cars.

Is there any news of an r r version or mugan version coming that will obliterate all the other hatches that keep trying to our perform this car? I do love this car in the UK and I have test driving it and the previous one and I own an old type R with a martelius exhaust so I suppose I'm a bit spoilt with sound but I still think they missed a trick by not having a muffler change button where you could make the sound how much deeper growl. Even if Honda gave it as an option for the track people could have crackles and Pops when they want to switch it back to normal mode when they don't.
I remeber when companies even before apple took away the headphone jack, you could get it back for an extra cost dongle or use their high profit branded bluetooth headphones. Same with cars, they took away what was always included, a great feature, actually a safety feature, gave you a can a fix a flat, did not lower the price, but will charge you a couple hundred $100o or more to get back what was free before. I hate it. if you say that everyone will get made at you and tell you why you should be happy they took it away.

But on some Hondas it won’t work if auto headlights is activated.

Yes, both are great tips! the brake hold triggers the e-brake when your seatbelt is disengaged or the car getting turned off. 👍

Same with cars, they took away what was always included, a great feature, actually a safety feature, gave you a can a fix a flat, did not lower the price, but will charge you a couple hundred $100o or more to get back what was free before.
I hate it. if you say that everyone will get made at you and tell you why you should be happy they took it away.
