Never had an EV so went to Tesla for a look last week, ended up with a Model 3 home for a 24hr test.. Like you I was so impressed with the full package the car offers. Easy decision to order! 👍
Thanks for sharing
We too I always drive it on chill
If you like that one you would love the faster versions...
Nice to see a car reviewer go in with no prejudice. It's simply a great car that just works. I'm on my second one and absolutely love it. Keep up the good work and for all the haters that will comment on this video you have a new subscriber who will watch more of your videos now because of your fair and balanced review. Keep up the good work
They are great cars once you get to know them. 😊
Best best car ever. I love it.
It needs to be noted that there are two sets of haters, those that hate ev’s and those that hate Elon, who this week has attempted to stoke the troubles in the UK by stating that we’re heading for civil war. So great car, I’m sure, but no thanks, unless he does one. Not that I could afford one anyway.
@@fydstar UK has got what is deserves. Think about it.
@@jjjxoxoxo and what is that then? You tell me.
Test drove one this week myself for the first time. Mightily impressed
Owned a 2019 Model 3 for 80,000 miles. Sold it to my nephew before moving to Portugal. Searching for a good deal on a used 2022 Model 3 or perhaps buy the new revised one. One thing everyone should know - buying a used Tesla Model 3 or Y is the BEST value for money. These cars are bulletproof, from 2019 and onward and espeically after sometime in 2021 when the heat pump arrived. Keep in mind Teslas (any EV) don't have thousands of moving parts that need lubrication or service. No oil changes. No water pumps, no timing belts, no transmission at all. It's really just that simple.
But wait thers more
You can use voice control for everything and the car hasn't got fly by wire steering. It has electric steering. The only Tesla with fly by wire anything is the Cybertruck.
Nice review of the car, they do still need to add the indicator stalks back in for sure.
I think EVs are a good deal they make sense to me. Not sure why so many on the internet dont like them
Who cares we got one & you see so many you think you are in a Tesla factory we live in SoCal good thing they are not like the first mustang byers and blowing the horn at each other
Had a Model 3 for 4 years. Also had several other EVs. Tesla are simply the best, as you now know.
Wait until the Chinese arrive
@@barr96 the Chinese arrived years ago, MG4 came out in 2022, but none of them are competing on the overall package that Tesla offers. Even if you ignore the supercharging network, the MG4 does not have matrix LEDs, is much smaller, no where near as efficient, the screen and software is awful, no leather seats, no ventilated seats, the app is unreliable, so many 12v issues, people are having warranty issues where MG refuses to take the car back even if its a lemon unless you take them to court etc.
BYD is the closest.. but last I saw, their model 3 competitor starts at £63k and not the £39k price the model 3 is.
Tesla super chargers are between £0.22 /kWh off peak and £0.33 on peak. Tesla vehicles get access to all of the chargers, and non teslas get access to some V3 and supposedly all v4 chargers, but pay around £0.50 unless they pay £10/mo membership.
Tesla do not currently support plug and charge for those other EVs so you still have to faff about and you don't get the advantage of simply plugging the car in and it charging within seconds. Other EVs take up to 2 minutes before they even start charging.
You haven't tried an Ioniq 5 with HUD, 360 degree cameras, ultra fast charging, V2L etc etc. I own one and I'm trying to find a reason to move to the new Model 3 but can't. Not having a HUD option is ridiculous as are the indicator buttons on the steering wheel. The only thing in favour of the Model 3 is the infotainment system but that's not enough to justify moving from my Ioniq 5 to the new Mode.
Excellent review video. One of the best ones I've seen. Many don't have the car long enough to properly get used to it, so end up complaining about things which are down to user error/lack of knowledge. But it looks like you pretty much worked it all out and therefore not fallen down the same traps.
Glad you enjoyed the review
I got in a Tesla 3 years ago as a full on petrol head, I dumped my M3 for a model 3 performance off the back of that experience and about to get the new version. Amazing cars!
17:23. If something brings that much joy to grown men, I believe it's worth the money. Well done Tesla.
Nice refreshing review from someone who's a petrol head approaching a Tesla with an open mind and being pleasingly surprised.
Thanks for watching
Great review. Like many, 4.5 years ago when the government announced 0% BIK on ev's for company car drivers, I opted for a Tesla Long Range Dual Motor. It was a USA built car and on that, i'd happily concede the build quality wasn't the best (never rattled or failed me, just the detail)
Now on my second Model 3 dual motor, the fact its a china build has changed the game, my wife now also has a standard range Model Y which is a phenomenal car. In fact we took it to Cornwall (620 mile round trip) due to its practicality this year, its shorter range was no inconvenience at all. Theres a LOT of hate out there for Tesla but I am pleased you enjoyed it. Like you I will always be a petrolhead (911 Turbo S will always be my dream car) but genuinely I really enjoy my Tesla and the dual motors and 4.2 seconds to 60 never bores me.
Oh, and I achieved 313 miles all motorway for a business meeting in February and arrived home with 9% battery, so my claimed range really isn't far off at all, never once worried about it and now I don't even pay attention to it!
Great review, subscribed!
*This is what pisses me off about the Tesla haters:*
If had stood on my driveway, with my friends, and said; My new car has 500HP, O-60 in 3.6s but does 110mpg and is silent. It doesn’t need services and has more interior space than the X5 it replaced …. They would all be agast. Impressed beyond belief…
But when I say it’s a Tesla, they all sneer and get very grumpy! Petulant child-like. “Elon should shut his bloody mouth” “That thing will catch fire” “Doesn’t he support Trump?” “Car parks can’t stand the weight” “It depreciates fast” “Takes hours to charge” “You’ll need new batteries in two years and they cost £30K” “You can’t cross Europe in it” Utter imbeciles…
Hater will hate but we love this car more than any other car every day and we use a supercharger 100% of the time
This is what baffles me as well. If you'd told anyone in 2010 that we'd have a car that goes from 0-100 in the same range that hypercars used to be in (sub 3 second), is totally silent, has the practicality of a large sedan, and space in the front for bags, and comes with actual working fast infotainment, everyone would've declared you insane. And now that we have them, all people can ask is "so, how far will you get", or "do you still have a diesel for the vacation trips?". No muppets, these cars charge within half a hour on a great charging network, I charge at home, so I never waste time a gas stations, and I get to drive a car that is 1. fast, 2. superbly in the software department, 3. gets regular updates that actually add functions, 4. doesn't cause lung cancer.
Max agree with what you typed but I do not like the look, it's not a car IMO that would make look at it when I got out.
Nice review Joel, I’m a little sceptical of EVs myself but was interesting to see an honest review of this Tesla. Keep it up.
Sceptical? Of what?
@@oggyoggy1299 the unknown of driving an EV and not having a combustion engine. Range anxiety… how does the real life range differ to that quoted by manufacturers in ideal conditions. Not experienced one yet and although I like the idea of being ‘greener’ I’m not sure I’m ready to ditch the combustion engine yet until the infrastructure has been improved.
@@Sussexfaunsif you can drive the speed limit we get about 130/150 miles per gallon equivalent without hipermiling but if you are always racing in any kind of car you will pay plus the police will be on your ass
@@Sussexfauns The infrastructure is fine. You can easily road trip the car across the UK and Europe. I can drive from my house in Bournemouth to Ballycanew in Ireland without stopping and get there with 10%. There are super fast chargers everywhere.
If you can charge at home or at work reliably, then there really aren't many reasons. not to go for a Tesla unless you're so young you can't insure one like me. Thankfully my insurance is coming down now and I am hoping to buy one next month.
If you cannot charge at home or work, then don't bother. The cost per mile will be similar or 2x the cost of diesel if you only use public charging. For me, I'll be able to enjoy instant heating and AC in the winter, having the car be warm when I wake up, and it will cost me £4 to drive to Manchester and back since I can get to my friends house in central Manchester from Bournemouth without stopping, and they have a charger at their house since they have a Tesla. I cannot wait to get one and wake up with 380 miles and not worry about needing to drive to a petrol station.
I have owned a Tesla Model 3 for 8 months and agree with everything Joel says - it is not him being nice to Tesla because they have given him a car for a week and he feels obliged to be positive he is simply telling it honestly. Didnt see anything about the sat nav which is a big positive because whilst giving directions it also directs you to superchargers before you run out of charge without the driver having to do anything extra. Also provided you can charge at home at 7p per KWH I can confirm it costs 2p per mile to run.
I have petrol running through my veins, but have just bought a 9 year old Model S for the free supercharging.
Great for a free running daily, but have the xjr and boxster for the weekend fun
How about warranties? Do you have a S with unlimited warranty?
Great summary and sub'd!
I've had a Tesla as my daily since Aug 2019 and on my 2nd one now, easily the best cars I've ever owned
Great review, ive had my Y for almost 3 years and saved around $8000 in gas and 0 maintenance. It's literally the best car ive ever driven and it's also the safest cars ever tested by NHTSA, NCAP, and ANCAP. Once you really learn all the features your mind is blown. Dog mode/keep mode for instance can save a child or pets life. Sentry mode uses 8 caneras around the car to record movement, viewable from your phone! Im still amazed with my car every day, ill never buy a different car brand again.
We too
I’m a real car guy. I’ve had a few 911’s, hot hatches, M cars etc. My current “fun” car is an R8 V10+.
I had a test drive in a model 3 this week and absolutely loved it! Such a different way to experience driving. I think I’m going to order one next week to use as the daily driver. Dual motor, long range. I just wish there was a bigger colour choice. Great video btw.
It’s good to hear your perspective. Amazing how many people think you can’t enjoy electric cars as a petrolhead!
new 2025 bmw 1 series120 m sport f70 (new design) or new 2025 tesla model 3 highland SR rwd ? ( absolutely same price in my country )
Harry hated the indicators being on the steering wheel instead of on a stalk.
And there are aftermarket indicator stalks for sale, a DIY project{or hire a shop}.
I had a model 3 and now drive a model Y. As a petrolhead I have to say I really miss an engine and a manual gearbox for the noise and interaction and feel on a Sunday morning blast. As fast and capable as the Teslas are, they just aren’t rewarding when pushing on as they are too quiet and easy to drive. As a tool though, as a device for getting around with my family for bugger all cost, in comfort with a fantastic hifi and tonnes of storage (esp in the model Y) they are amazing. I don’t think I could go back. 10,000 miles last year cost me about 200 quid! One day, when I can afford it, id love a second car, maybe a Cayman or an Emira for driving for the sake of it, but thats just for me. The Tesla is for my family. Great Review - very fair and thorough.
How much does the depreciation cost you compared to a used £5k diesel?
@@NomadJRG it’s through a business so depreciation is not something I really needed to consider. The huge tax relief in year one as well as the 2% bic was what I had on my mind. No diesel can really compete. As a private buyer it’s a valid point though. EV’s have depreciated a lot, especially the expensive ones (Taycan etc) so that would have to be carefully considered if you were looking at the private used market.
Not really comparing like with like is it, A £5k car isn't going to be as good to drive or reliable.
Get yourself an MX5 for the weekend
@@richfixescars well quite, but if you’ve only got 5k you arent buying electric at all
Great video. After my previous car was declared a total loss, I had to get a new car, and I was also skeptical, but once I sat in one and test drove it, I was sold pretty quickly. Tesla has really improved most of the things that needed improving, and for the price, you’d be hard pressed to find any other car, ICE or EV, that matches the features, sportiness, and practicality of the new Model 3. FWIW, I’m in the U.S., where the price was discounted by $7,500 for the lease, and was effectively leasing a $32,500 vehicle, and next year I’ll get a $3k rebate from the state I live in, making the cost of this insanely low. I’ve now owned it for 4 months, same trim as the one you drove, and it has been fantastic. I have added a 3rd party unit for CarPlay / AA, and that unit also shows me critical info right in front of me, including blind spot warning, speed, range, etc.
OK , Joel! A fine review from a gas car owners viewpoint and BETTER than many USA reviews. NOW, sell the Porsha and buy a new Model Three and save the extra quid for some COLD beer! For the history books; this writer owns a Kia Niro BEV and is THINKING ON a change of EVs.
Great review. Been with my new model 3 rwd ultra red for 1 week now. A massive upgrade on my 2017 bmw 3 series. Such a relaxing drive - super quiet, quick, comfortable and of course you get that feeling of being in something really modern.
The long range is much faster than the RWD base model, 1.5 seconds quicker to 100kmh.
Also the steering is not fly by wire. Standard electric power steering with a direct connection.
Sell your expensive to run money pit Porsche and get a Tesla for your daily driver, madness otherwise.
Joel hit the nail on the head with these cars you have to look at them differently they are there to do a job and as he put it there a utensil, but I think there’s no doubt they do EV’s better than anyone else.
You can control a lot of the stuffs without touching the screen for example if i want to turn on air con, just press the button on the wheel and say "i am hot" it will activate the air con. If you want to open charging port just say "open butthole".
Yes, I ran out of time to go through the voice command system, but it was very impressive. I used it to control my heated and cooled seat
There’s 177 voice commands who else does that ??
Just paused the video to post this; I’ve just watched the introduction and I’m in stitches 😂
Just a comment the standard 18" wheels give the greatest range
yes agreed and 18-inch wheels also have better ride quality than 19 and 20 inch options as well as are the cheapest. Given it's a daily-driver/transport car the standard 18 inch wheels are overall best, since RWD Model-3 is not a sports car after all. Also, to replace these tyres in future, the replacement rubber for 18 inch wheels will cost less than 19/20 inch tyres.
And handle pot holes much better too
They really are good cars. If it had all the same attributes and characteristics and features and price but it said bmw 320i on the boot everyone would be praising it to high heaven
BMW have certainly committed some styling howlers of late, but nothing quite that bad 😂
What have you been doing for the last 7 years? Why did it take you 7 years to drive one of the best vehicles on the planet?
I drove a Model 3 Performance 5 years ago and it made my C55 AMG feel slow and awkward.
At least they are cheap now. And once you try it then it’s hard to go back
You should test the refreshed perfromance one
Little FYI, the new model 3 is not fly by wire, the only vehicle that has that is the new Cyber truck.
I enjoyed that review. I think you could have been more "brutally honest" about the indicator buttons at the end. I'd like to see your opinion of the performance version. I get that you like petrol cars but you gotta admit this does all the "car" things better than most cars under $100k
We got stuck on the M5 for an hour last December due to an accident up ahead. TH-cam was very useful, as was the ability to keep the heater running as it has negligible energy consumption.
This is a better value for the money you pay. Thanks for the Incredibly nice review
My pleasure!
I am a 75-year-old pensioner, and how I wish I could enjoy an EV today. I have never driven an EV, but you have inspired me. If only my eyesight could pass the test. Thank you for this unbiased review.
I don't get the complaint of the speedo on the dash vs the speedo in the corner of the screen. Either way you are glancing away from the road
You know what speed you are going after about a year or so
All thats going to happen with the lack of indicator stalks is people won't signal. In the USA where roundabouts are rare, I can see why it works, but not in the rest of the world. As for EVs, I love mine, not a Tesla, and I very much enjoy that my Lexus still has lots of buttons and controls within easy reach.
I particularly like my Model 3 in winter and never having to scrape ice off the windsceen. Just press defrost on my phone.
A petrolhead? Get a Model 3 Performance. Jack of all trades.
A Model 3 weights 3800 lbs, nearly the exact same weight as a Toyota Camry. The Camry is actually about 100 lbs heavier.
Why do people have a prejudice about EV’s? Get over it, you WILL be driving one eventually… it is the only thing that makes sense…
People hate change, makes them feel insecure. Funny really,as the only certain thing in life is change !
Change is hard for some people we love it & will never go back to ICE Cars
For the Readers; If you are as 'tossed' as "Joel' of the lack of indicator stalks; you can buy one for a DIY project. And there are a 'flock' of dandy aftermarket items { a HUD for example} if you wish to customize the Tesla. The Tesla has the LARGEST aftermarket products segment of any EV currently on the roads .
Fun to watch you experiencing this model 3 without any preconceived notions. I have been following you since your Z4 days (when I bought a Z4 here in the Seattle USA area) and actually own my 2nd Tesla (Model Y Performance) , but will keep my stick shift Z4 since I’m a petrol head as well, as you call it. Great job, keep bringing us great content!
To set the nav, you can just talk to the car. It is very, very responsive and will 99,5% of the time 'hear' you and understand you.
New here, what a great review, I have one on order and this in depth video is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for giving your honest opinion, which is somewhat hard to find these days with all the Tesla stereotypes and assumptions
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the video! Enjoy your tesla!
Great video! I feel a bit silly really, I'm debating the 2024 Model 3 as my first car
Lease one 3 year lease start about $ 300.per month
Ive met you before years ago (white cayman GTS), and I thought id never own a tesla. We ended up with a model Y as the family wagon. You are right it does everything very well but it'll never give me the enjoyment i get from ownership of my other car, but i dont think it's about that.
One thing not mentioned or maybe I skipped but new 3 and Y use cameras instead of parking sensors. Whilst still easy to drive I am certain that my wife wouldnt of reversed it into a pillar if it had actual parking sensors.
Great video . Couple of things though - if you want autopilot added you can apply it via the app (you don’t have to go back to Tesla). Also the long range does charge quicker as you say, but it only takes longer to charge than a standard range if you want it to go further. I’ve got a Tesla and love it. I still love my mx5 just as much too though.
Thanks for the review, rarely do reviewers point out the low cost of running the car which can be amazing if you can charge at home. I have a petrol car for fun but also a LR for all the daily stuff. That said the performance is impressive - you should try a LR/M3P
This is the most complete saloon car ever made, it just does everything so well. Reset the bar for everyone else, old model 3 had a lot of flaws but this one addressed all of them
Nice! I can't wait to get mine, I'm HYPED. Gas is extremely expensive.. I would say atleast 60% of my income goes to driving an old fashioned gasoline car. since I do A LOT of driving, I think the Tesla will definitely help me out
An exceptionally good review. Living with it for a week is the minimum one needs to evaluate one of these. One of the best honest reviews I've read.
Good job, an honest appraisal. Had my new Highland for less than 2 weeks and cannot fault it after 1200 miles.
Good review. However, having optional paint, wheels or wall box will incur an extra £2050 in road tax over five years. This will apply after the 1st April next year.
People complaining about the 'official range' never beeing correct in EV's seem to forget the 'official' stated WLTP mpg/fuel consumption in the cars we know, also are never really true. Also, if Tesla doesn't bring out the Solid State battery out fast enough, they might kill the EV market. So release the tech and let's start comparing their range to diesels. Not only do they charge faster, they are lighter, more durable and they can store at least 4-5 times more capacity compared to the 'liquid' batteries (meant for walkmans and remote controllers 😄).
Be honest, if this playstation on wheels had a 1000+ mile range, there would not even be a discussion, because they are fun and fast.
So jealous you found a Tesla charger only a couple of miles away!
I hope Tesla get a lot more installed in the coming years.
There are plenty of them in the USA never even a thought.
@@frederickfaller899 In the North East of England there are only 2 locations
This is an excellent video, nice work - it does make you think. I too wouldn't be keen on the indicators 👍
Phenomenal review. Incredible. Thank you.
we'll your a breath of fresh air! We have a Tesla model 3 and we're sick of people reviewing being negative. 🙌 Where are you driving, looks like Dorset?
Glad you enjoyed the review, actually no, in Surrey!
Sorry to sound boring but sitting on the bonnet and potentially damaging it shows a total lack of respect to those who loaned you the car.
You got it absolutely right, mate! Embrace it, and once you understood that (some, not all) electric vehicles are just better for the daily stuff, you can specialise with a zero compromise, no nonsense, second fun car for the weekends.
It’s really fun to think of good parings (EV + fun car) for the price of 1 ICE “do it all”- car.
For instance used BMW I3 + Porsche Boxster/ tuned MX5 instead of M135/ GTI MK7.5
Great video Joel! I recently had the facelift model 3 for review too. I will admit the indicator buttons took me a moment to get used to
The best EV period
One-pedal drive is not a guarantee in electric cars, its an option from manufactures. Best solution is when driver can choose driver mode themselves. I like being able to coast with my car, something a Tesla cannot do. There for I rather buy a hyundai ioniq then a Tesla. And as a bonus I they also include V2L with their cars. Tesla taking notes yet?
Watching you absolutely shit your pants in the intro because of that noise, had me in tears! 🤣😭 that was hilarious!
they've improved the refinement of the whole car. I drive the first gen model 3 and its noisy! poor build quality with rattles everywhere! Ride quality is very harsh, too stiff a suspension. But this one is very very different. Would recommend it. I'm currently testing the latest Model Y and its very impressive too! They've also softened the ride suspension so its much nicer now to drive around town and also improved a lot the quiet cabin. Even the 2022 Model Y has harder suspension and noisier cabin! Tesla makes small improvements all the time. Quite impressive!
This is the first time I have watched one of your videos, and I really enjoyed it. It was very informative
@@RachelTheives thanks so much
Hey Joel! This is another great video, as always...I've been a fan of you and the channel for quite some time now.
Quick question: you always seem to be rocking some super cool watches jn your videos...which one are you wearing here? Thanks!
Sending you love from Michigan, USA ✌️
I agree with you. Not an enthusiast car, but as an daily driver, its so cheap to run. Available currently on 0% finance also. Also you're not polluting especially in urban areas.
Its a really good car i have one and it saves money compared to what you can get comparitivly speaking and with hardly any servicing its great
Best honest review I’ve watched on TH-cam so far, only comment would be “why do you need a heads up display when you’ve got adaptive cruise control” ?
That looks pretty awesome tbh. Especially compared to the frog like design in the previous model. I like it.
Whilst I do have an EV - Genesis Electrified G80, I'm certainly no Tesla Fan, but this latest Model3 certainly seems impressive for the money, being extremely well equipped. Even the updated styling seems like a big improvement.
Example of technology getting in the way of common sense (and safety). Surely a traditional gear selector and indicator stalks are needed as a minimum...think if i ever go EV the Hyundai Ioniq6 is likely the one i would try first..
Yes, seems odd at first but after 3 or 4 weeks of owning one of these I took the wife's 7 seater on a tip run and the indicator stalk seems so old fashioned and unsafe. Taking a hand of the wheel to operate the indicators seems really unsafe compared to being able to drive with everything at your thumb tips. Gear selector is more obviously unnecessary, with an electric car you select drive and then never need it again till you get to your destination (same with most automatics too I suppose) seems to be wasteful having a gear selector in the centre console or behind the steering wheel when on most journeys it only gets touched twice (once to set off & once to park).
A Hyundai battery cost would keep me from buying one. After the warranty ends (120k mi), if a replacement is needed, a Hyundai battery can run up to $40k. A Tesla battery is about 1/4 the price And lasts 300k+.
And yet we’re told not to use touchscreens in our cars ie sat nav mobile etc
The Netflix is so useful when collecting kids from school and sports events.
Hi Joel, so you liked it then ? How come you didn't try any voice-actuated changes, rather than using the touch screen. It's another aspect of why the car works so well. If you do, you don't need type anything.
PSA: 2024 model 3 is NOT steer-by-wire.
Would love to see such a thorough and thoughtful review of the Hyundai Ionic 5N from you Joel. Hope you’ve got plans to get one lined up!
0:56 Please tell me that's a reflection and not clear coat chipping off on the sill
My clear coat is fine
Great review! I really like your review style and openmindedness.
Great review. The M3 doesn’t have drive by wire, only the cybertruck
Early on he says it's a "latest model 3" ... the plates on it show it's not.
There was a major refresh done within the last year, makes it a totally different car.
the new red is also nicer ... I have the 24 model 3 performance ... having driven both this one and mine, there'quite a big difference.
HA this just popped up in my feed, ordered my new 2024 M3P just today , Lucy my 2021 M3p has been amazing.
Great review, I’ll be getting one of these next 👍
Loved that video Joel, I’m a petrol head but that was fascinating 👍🏼
I'm sure it's got a lot going for it but that empty shell of a cabin...you call that premium?
I call it minimalistic and the materials premium in feel
It’s better than my Ferrari & different than anything else plus I make a lot of $$$ on the stock
O yea & quicker than the Ferrari too
Great video, Joel 🙂 (First time watcher here) Thanks!
Great video as always, Joel, and great taste in music, too.
Really great review, thanks.
Wow, amazing review. Thanks
DUDE...Someone put your steering wheel on the wrong side. LOL It all looks awkward for a right handed person. I just bought the AWD version a week ago and I'm loving it! Maybe it's the US version but everything feels like a luxury car. I could buy a Jaguar, BMW or other luxury model a similar price so I would expect a bit of luxury feel.
Lack of indicator stalk is a massive safety issue. Being able to indicate and show other drivers your intentions is a major part of driving. As soon as the steering wheel is turned, you have immediately lost all positioning of the indicators. The same can be said for the wipers, since they are in the steering wheel. Oh yes, the same again for flashing the headlights. Not sure how Tesla have managed to move three important features onto a steering wheel that turns and means you have no idea where the buttons are. EPIC FAIL.
Than buy sa something else we can’t all buy the same car
Definitely think having the indicators like that are on European models is not a good idea, it appears more of an American concept due to no round abouts, as you pointed out when you’re turning the wheel at hard angles and then trying to indicate does seem at times dangerous and difficult. That would be my only concern, also just out of morbid curiosity I do wonder how the electric doors would work if you got caught in deep water or in a flood and needed to evacuate the vehicle quickly and the electrics were not working correctly
There are manual release handles on the inside of the doors. Now opening a door if you end up under water isn’t going to happen unless you fill the car with water as well as the pressure from the water will be extremely high. As for the indicators, it was a hassle for a while, but after 2-3000 miles I don’t even think about it anymore even with the steering wheel upside down.
They really are an amazing value car, but I think for British roads with the amount of roundabouts that we negotiate all the time the lack of an indicator stalk would just drive you insane, I think it’s fine for the American market where really they do not have roundabouts. definitely roundabouts not a place you need to be distracted by looking for the correct button on a moving wheel.
It takes about a minute for the automatic wipers to adjust. Leave it on auto and they do work.
Thank you for a great honest review
its the insurance that killing me
I have Tesla Insurance and save $ 100. Dollars a month for full coverage
