Back in the '70s we use to pull the air cleaner to get more air into the carb, not understanding 'Dusting' of the motor. But we were kids trying to get more power and no money. Good news, we all learned how to rebuild motors about the same time
Typical K&N filter performance. Destroy your motor for a slightly cooler sound. Doesn't matter how well you maintain them either. Right off the bat the destruction begins. I've seen it too many times.
@CLAUDIOILTEXANO You have wasted way too much time since 1994. Join the 20th century and use a basic paper filter. If you insist on upgrading, use a filter that actually...filters.
Just wondering how many of the old UPS, Bread trucks with the Ford's 300-6 and manual transmission had things like this Pop up. Or did they just keep running for ever
Of course it's filthy down there in the box because that's where the outside air gets in to be filtered, going up , then into the intake manifold. That filter is a K&N and it's normally oiled with a special red oil , that's why it's wet I understand everything is good to make visualizations 😂
K&N filter. Over oiled causing it to leak past the seal. This is why i dont run an oiled filter. Dry filter or use a standard filter. If you have to add oil for better filtration, you might as well not run anything.
I HATE those crap air filters. As a Ford tech for 6 years 2000-2006, i can't tell you how many turbos and blow-by damaged 7.3's & 6.0's I worked on because of those 'cold air' and k&n type intake setups. When buying a used truck, i pop the hood, i see anything but factory air intake and filter, i close the hood and say, 'Thanks, but no thanks, good bye'
This with go 300k more miles easy without doing any of those repairs. Change the oil. Trash the K&N for a cheap Mahle, get a straight pipe resonator and ship it.
Looks like a piece of shit K&N Filter which doesn't actually catch any particles in the 5-20 micron range which is the dust that causes abrasive wear in the cylinder, not to mention destroying the turbo on the way there.

This is sad and funny af 😂. Mankind, Learning the hard way since the dawn of time.
Surely cars back in the 70s i wouldve thought didnt have turbochargers or superchargers?
People still do this on dirtbikes and such makes me really mad
Ah yes old Dave, all knowledge, no product advertising, this is the Uncle Dave i love and know
Lol 😂
Bru why you pocket watching
14k for a Subaru engine? Haha. Get unsubbed, crooks.
@@jjsfitnessgoals4898shorts don’t make money, they lead you to long videos that make money.

Van with multiple drivers beaten into the ground. She never had a chance
Every sprinter looks like this
K&N filters do not seal properly.
Or filter properly!
Been using them on every vehicle since 1994 . Washed , air dried and oiled every 5000 miles . Never a problem.
@@latus-rectum45you just have to oil them properly. People either don’t oil them or put way too much on them and they mess up the MAF sensor.

@davidcardinal3654 Stick all the oil you want into that filter, you still won't catch particles that are 5-20 microns.
Doesn't matter what part of the country your from. If you work in a shop, you will hear someone say "leaking like a sieve".
2006 ! That driver got his money worth 2 or 3 times over sheesh… yeah that old it’s gonna have a few leaks no 💩…
110% K&N filter induced problem! Put an actual filter on instead of a screen!
Don't worry next video he will sell a filter cleaning kit
@@mrm1885 shut up
🤣
Who puts a k&n filter in a delivery truck someone who watches TH-cam
Ya know, some people just don't like disposable filters.
This is why you NEVER out K&N filters on turbocharged engines.
The seal isn't great on those K&N filters. You can try to lube them up but the way they are molded sometimes they are defective
Check the cylinder pressures. #5 usually

you know for as much as you love that light. it is not that good. I love streamlight
I would definitely charge the turbo and replace the air in the tires my boy be good as new
K&N oil for the win

It’s a sprinter. It’s going to have a million things wrong with it. Everyone driving one doesn’t have time to take care of it.
isn't it OM646? I thought they're reliable
Sprinters are reliable you see old ones everywhere in Europe
2006 vs 2007...a world of difference.

2006?!
Send it to the crusher already.
Sent it to Africa. It has 30 years left on the road. This is just minor stuff.
K N air filter
What sucks is that it's got a K&N Air Filter that's been abused
Let's not forget about that resonator tailpipe boys Yes sir
Bro lots problems with sprinters not worth the cost. Get a old Dodge van
What a great mechanic
I’m guessing KN won’t use this as an advertisement.
Hehe th3 shorts i want.. no advertise aboud a light just the old dave
I heard there will be a TV show featuring this shop--is that true? I hope so!
When people say ecoboosts don't last, this is the ecoboosts they're talking about 😂 (yes I know this isnt one)
Sounds like bro could go all day on this car 🧐🤣
I wouldn't run a K&N filter on something in a clean room
So sad. Old bulletproof sprinter engine with sand and dirt damage.
Hey Dave, what happened to the "Discovery Channel" Gig ? Thought you were on the way to the "Big Time" ?!? 🤔🤨💰📡📺
We are the best mechanic call me highly recommended also a very good on this inspection!
Now this poor bastard needs an engine alternator engineer breather transmission and ussy change
Look like a Pro Master problem?
"Sport" airfilter, but dirty! 🤦♂️
Not doing a pretrip inspection
Junk....drive it til it breaks
preformance air filter on van :D
Sprinters are just horrible vehicles! In my opinion!👍🏻🇺🇲
