turbocharged go "oooooopffff" (sound good when you change gear), where as supercharged go "uuuuuuuuuu" (whiny sound). That's all you have to know pretty much.
some cars dont make any sound when changing gears.
That's not the turbo making that noise. Turbos are more like "sshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhtttttt"

I went with a Whipple stage 2 for my 2019 GT. Upgraded the fuel line, injectors, and went with long tube headers. Running at 720 HP to the wheels amd 550 Lbs of torque. I love this car for a daily. And I'm still getting 16.5 MPG
How has it held up
Similar to my 93 SC Tbird, you're getting more hp (with more displacement, valves, and screw vs roots). I get 350 hp and 400 lbs-ft 17mpg city at 17PSI.
Reliability hit is from first Gen DIS not the blower.
16.5 MPG in a 700+hp supercharged V8 is insane! I expected it to do like 8mpg.
When I see a B5 in the thumbnail, I click faster than my stock K03s blowing up in my S4

Turbos are a little harder to install because of drilling into the oil pan for the oil line and other things like that, where a supercharger you might just need a new intake manifold, or a bracket for putting it on the front if it's like a pro charger type deal but most companies include the bracket.

When it comes to actual shifting, motorcycles are easier. When it comes to going fast...corner speed on a bike requires skill, balls, decent tires, and a properly set up suspension.

My supercharged BRZ is a great daily driver and has plenty of power for the track! I put a Edelbrock E-Force SC in my car in the first month I owed it in 2016 and had a custom tune done by DD Performance Research in Houston. I didn't want a turbo kit because of the lag and heat problems, tune problems that never seem to get fixed for daily driving. The fact is almost everyone I know that maxed out their power by turbo has blown engines. Few with SC do in my experience.
The SC is just more DRIVABLE over the lifetime of the car than a turbocharged car.
How many buff horses?
@@kxngshadow5497 on 93 octane I get 284 but that's OK as those engines tend to have rod problems when pushed over 300. The stock wheel HP is 154. Since the car is light and nimble and the power response is instant it's a joy to drive and is quite competitive on the track because it does the turns better than the HP monsters. Now that doesn't sound like a lot of HP compared to those guys that have 600 but my weight/HP ratio is quite good and more than this starts effecting drivability.
I could go E85 and pick up a lot (and I have a tune for it) but then I'd be over 300 HP and I want the car to last.
The gas mileage only took a 1 MPG hit for 'regular' driving... except I'm heavy footed all the time and it's so fun to launch from any stop. From September 2016 when I bought the car new I've gone through 9 (yes, NINE) sets of street performance tires and that doesn't include track because besides liking to accelerate any time I can I am aggressive on corners. Track tires, I don't remember off hsnd as a set is only good for two track days and I've done a lot of them!!!) Of course I don't have stock alignment, I quickly modded the suspension to have more negative camber for better grip in corners.
I can put a cooler, jack, 5 gal gas can and four wheels in the car and hit the road to the track after driving it daily all week, what's not to like.

I really think it depends on the vehicle. On my Honda that comes with VTEC, I'm going with a Supercharger. I want to get into the VTEC as quickly as possible, and mitigate the torque drop between 2000-4500. With a tune, sparks, intake, and removing the cats, my 8th gen is looking at the 400 range of hp/lbft. I'd refer to it as Stage 2 in the realm of things upgraded. Still gets above 35mpg overall, and it's a lot more usable and fun than stock.

Stage III when referring to B5 S4’s is a set of KO4 turbos
My Audi TT MK2 tfsi manual has all 280nm from 1,600 rpms. It's great to have that torque even at higher gears and develop speed super quick by dropping a gear or 2 without lag or delay.
Ove owned 2 srt4's and now my ion redline supercharged I like them both.
Got a mb c230 Kompressor rn. first car I got and it got me into cars. Discovered the e55 soon after and I've been saving for one since.
The cobalt ecotec platform is so overlooked, supercharged and turbo version. So much potential for cheap

Hey figment industries hopefully you see this Bt I have a 05 TL Acura and as you know it had a belt for direct use for a supercharger , could you still add a turbo with some modifications?
I have a b5 1.8t that pushes around 20psi on what I'm told is the stock turbo, supposedly it pushes 230 hp, not sure if I believe either of those lol

The Imola yellow is dope. My buddy at a Nogaro Blue over Nogaro RS4 suede seats it was Stage 3+ with RS6 hybrid turbos. We blew the KO4s on the way back from Waterfest... this was mid 2000s. Car was extremely unreliable. We never got to drive it in the snow bc it’s never been alive whenever winter hits.
I agree it’s hard to choose but if you want tune the ride to a twin charge
I like turbo chargers, I have a small turbo, which still gives me low end torque. Additionally with a manual, you can truly appreciate the power, even with a larger turbo.
What about a lot of modern cars which have little to no turbo lag? BMW N54/N55/B58 spring to mind

Yeah, turbo is commonly 3 to 5 K vs most roots blowers or positive displacement superchargers, they start at 6 for a kit and after it is installed and running 10 to 12 k. Turbo is easier to live with daily. I like my VMP TVS 2.3. It is a monster right off the line. Also, it is the same powerband until the high rev line.
So I'm getting a 2008 altima coupe 2.5 liter 4 cylinder in about two weeks, I'm gonna put a lot of work into it to get it back into loveable condition with the interior and exterior both needing lots of work and I wanted to know if I should supercharge it. I like car go vroom so I've gotta do something with it as it only has 170 hp stock and that's just not enough to quench my thirst. Comment some ideas/suggestions for me.
Could you twincharge the engine and make the ability to switch off the supercharger off and use the turbo charger for fuel economy at times of need?

That's kinda a tough one. Turbos tend to get better mpg but some superchargers have a bypass valve that eliminates much of the drag. Turbos tend to be a bit laggy superchargers tend to be instant. Turbos are usually more expensive, heavier, and complex but more effencent per psi. Turbos tend to be more "custom" and therefore more flexible but if there is a kit available for your car a supercharger will be easier to install.
From the channel that originally focused on wheel fitments now they're approaching to performance parts. Bravo!

Anyway if you want an W211 E55 just buy the 2005 and up model. The 2003 using an SBC which causing a lot of trouble. And the replacement isn't cheap. The 2005 model ditching the SBC that's why less parts to be replaced when you bought it. At least that's what mercedes do in my country.
I have a 2006 e350. Luckily all of the mechanical issues, including suspension have been fixed in this car however imma need to get that supercharger power on it!

iv watched multiple videos and one question that mever gets answered is which one has more reliability issues can anyone help me with that. common sense says turbo because theres not constant boost but i dont know.

The only supercharged car that I've ever driven was a Buick Park Avenue Ulrra, so it wasn't a performance car. It was however pretty powerful! But it just felt like a larger engine, like a v8. I had an 03 wrx, and that engine fely much more fun. The way turbos build the power, it surges, and feels amazing.
Supercharged with small cams is brutal. When my car made 715whp it also made 630ft/lbs at 1,500rpm lol
