    Great review Paul. These are a nice value for the price and sound great. i like your subtractive EQ, so many times our first reaction is to boost.

      Eh, this one doesn't need boost. Driver is from Kato so look at Kato's graph for EQ ideas. I found out after I did the video but yes, if you pull the bass back a bit, it sounds more upscale.

      This is pretty much the signature where everything sounds right to me. Mid and sub bass are good and satisfying, mid range is neither too forward nor too behind in the mix, and highs are detailed enough but aren't shouty, glaring or harsh. There's also a nice amount of body to the entire range. Most Chi-Fi have upper mids/lower treble that sounds too harsh and often overpowers the rest of the range to my ears and can make things sound thinner.

    curious if this would be a nice 2-IEM pairing with the Zero Red. How does it compare to that? looking into getting these but waiting for deals

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Off the top of my head, Zero:Red using the included impedance adapter will put you very close to Delci. The nice part about Red is you can hear both styles, almost what I talked about with the EQ, a Delci with less subbass is moving closer to Zero:Red stock. I definitely prefer the Delci fit and nozzle though.

    If I may ask, how is this compared to the Tripowin Piccolo(which I already have and love)?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Where Piccolo works and where some people don't like Delci, the 5-7k area. I would hesitate if you like Piccolo to pick up a set that is much higher in that area. I also could be 100% wrong but Piccolo has tuning that is not typical and while Delci is more relaxed, perhaps not enough for your preferences.

    How would this compare to the TinHifi T3 Plus for roughly the same price?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      T3+ is basically the same as the Harman sets that hit the top of the target at 3k. T3 also has a bit more bass, so a bit more low, a bit more high and you get a fun V shape sound. Delci is more relaxed, it might even sound warmer because there is less upper mids. Mostly depends on what you want, Delci traded some detail for a warmer, more relaxed sound.

    • @scotteaton963
      @scotteaton963 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @PaulWasabii it sounds like I'd like my T3+ better and there's no need to purchase this one. Do you have a recommendation for a DD iem that is a few steps above the T3+? BTW, I love the comfort on the T3+ too.

    • @someoneusa
      @someoneusa 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PaulWasabii no they aren't. I prefer the stock sound to stock Conch. VX Pro+ looks like an updated V80, more so than the V90 series, except it's a 1+9 instead of 2+2. Only $43, promising! Look forward to a review if you get it! Got Fudu and didn't think they sounded any better than anything I own so that's getting returned. As a joke I got AK6 Pro expecting it to be awful. It's actually surprising clean for such a deep V. With Eq its really good. Is there a way to bring lower mids up with mods or is eq the way to go?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    i remember blon03 lacked clarity and completely lacked trebble, olina was a clear upgrade but was a bit bright, is delci a middle ground ? (more trebble than blon03 but less bright than olina ?) between olina and delci which has more details ? thanks

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that is about right, but falls to the left, towards BL03 a hair. I had written to Kefine after and said why not cut the bass 2db and add some clarity, some stage. The answer was they had one like that, but went warmer, bassier. Its right there if you EQ it. The driver is Moondrop so quite capable, but just for my personal prefs, would have tightened up the bass, perhaps tuning it more like a Moondrop.

  • @someoneusa
    @someoneusa 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    DQ6s got a bad rap due to drivergate, but it's a great bassy set regardless. Just rewatched your review and at the time you really liked them. The tuning is quite similar to these, curious how the sound compares IRL. I have Blon03, EDAs, and a lot of other great bassy sets, doubt I need Delci though all the hype makes them sound like they offer something new/special. Thoughts?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      One thing about KZ is there is usually a bit more treble extension and energy buried in the graph. No different with that one. Something tuned out of Delci so it sounds more relaxes, chill. People like Delci for that reason, it is more relaxed than most of the recent sets, warmer which hasn't been popular lately. That is why people like it, something different, done well on a nice driver. If relaxed and warm isn't your thing, no need to have fomo. Plus you have BL03, close enough unless you hate the fit on it.

    • @someoneusa

      @@PaulWasabii you rock!! Before I write another chapter, can you please let me know micropore density VS Tanya filter (400ish? ) . You are the first to explain what's setting it apart or not. Was leaning towards no, this seals it. Jay pointed out that it sounds like Z300, maybe a very slight upgrade, probably not enough to warrant $, if it's a consideration-it IS.
      KZ sets generally have trb/ext which isn't on graph? Never thought about it but you're right, they do tend to sound brighter! Figured hobby missing warmer sets lately is part of it too. Delci tune is so much my thing that I'm most definitely not lacking, lol. As I grow my collection, brain burn follows, enjoying bright-ish too as long as bass is good and mids/highs not trying to kill me. No 8k issues, but perhaps around 2ish, is that a thing? I like CS2 and Conch black, but Waner sounds nearly bassless and extremely shouty. Understanding my trigger areas more experimenting with mods and Eq'ing w/awareness. I still like the 03; probably play with modding it and Castor Bass soon. Maybe I'll gift DQ6s to a fellow basshead friend if it's too much like my sets. Or mod/EQ if I feel greedy. Lol. *Trying* to only get sets offering something different. Though I may bite on Abyss if it gets $15-ish, just becuase it's so damn beautiful, while waiting for EST and tribrids to drop in price. PHOENIXCALL is

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @someoneusa yeah it's 300 to under 400ish. Ultimately the tuning filters are consistent, ripping off piece of micropore that stretches and changes density, not as consistent. But it's dirt cheap to try. When hobbyists are measuring sets, the 8k is an alignment point, mostly an artificial peak but some sets like KZ have some energy there. The 8k artificial peak tends to move the area before and after so there can be more energy in 6-10k than it appears because of the measurement alignment. KZ tends to use later treble energy and it could be slight, but just enough to sound more energetic. Not every set, but it is a tuning style they use. Rather than bump 2-4k, they add boost later. Their planars also do that, a lot of upper treble. Especially in the sub $100 range, filters, micropore tape, eq will keep you from chasing the perfect set as it doesn’t exist. Just mod or eq to your ears and library

    • @someoneusa
      @someoneusa 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Didn't realize that about KZ late energy. Brother bought a non switch DFI that was bad qc, def not bright, muddy and veiled. Heard of a few like this but have been happy with my sets which I've gotten for next to nothing. Micropore is definitely a short term solution but like you said perfect for testing, wanted to know what grade to use if I upgraded to filter. I lost one of the SGOR Venus (also KZ, graphs big 8k peak) filters cleaning it, so I decided to tinker with it last night. Used random low/high density foam and 350 for the filters. Liked them stock but sound just amazing now! Can't wait to get a rig eventually. Havng a blast tinkering. Maybe I'll open one up some day 🙄 Thanks again for sharing all the knowledge, we're lucky to have ya!

      There is a subtle difference that most people won't notice. Upper treble on Nuo has a little boost, you might notice it on electronic music. Delci will sound warmer as it doesn't have that.

      @@PaulWasabii Your reviews on Point. I have tight budget thats why thinking which one would suit me better as i listen all genre. In my region there is 35 dollar price difference between these nuo and Delci. I kinda love slightly bass boosted balance sound , wider sound stage , great instrumental separation, smooth forward midrange with a bit treble peek. So if i can save some Money i will invest it on dac dongle. If delci is much better than nuo in terms of my sound preference then i will get delci. If its not then i will get Nuo. This or CCA Trio? debating on the two

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tough one and not sure this will be helpful. KZ/CCA tends to show off driver performance by keeping treble level slightly higher. Its is a fun, energetic sound that carries out all the way into upper treble. Delci is warmer, smoother, more chill. If you like to be engaged, that is Trio, but just relax with music while you work, that is better with Delci.

    Is it considered as an upgrade from Z300?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would say no, more of a sidegrade. Tuning is similar but not the same, has HBB's tilt to Z300 so a bit more bass, less treble. Mostly why I mentioned EQ, these sets are like different flavors so take a little bass away or add more and you end up close to another set.

    • @FrantaPo-bc5mu

      @@PaulWasabii On Z300 it is worth trying to remove the original nozzle filters and replacing them with a bit of foam in the nozzles (or a less dense filter). At least my Z300 came with extra dense filters that just chocked the treble and made the bass boomy. Removing the filters turned it into a much better set (to my ears).

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The two are related. For a 1DD to get priced above Delci, it needs to be more resolving, more open sounding mids The driver can do it, they just wanted a more fun sounding set. The EQ will get you sounding closer to more expensive sets but that wasn't the goal of Delci.

      You know what I mostly do for male vocals, EQ. Most chifi sets are going to have lightweight male vocals. For Delci, drop the subbass a little and bump 2-400hz slightly so you can hear it on your gear in your ear. Same for any set that is flat at 300hz, you need to add some body to the male vocals in that area. You are much better off trying to learn EQ than trying to find a set that does male vocals well.
