Good wheel, good improvements and features, bad price.
Logitech users don't really have any reason to upgrade to this and should just go for thrustmaster, fanatec or something else.
People fresh into simracing looking for cheap and/or good wheel will go for g29 or t300.

This wheel is more focused on newcomers to sim racing or drifting, whatever the case may be. I recently upgraded from the G29 to the Thrustmaster T300RS GT with the shifter. I automatically knew that if I was going to upgrade (being that Logitech wheels aren’t really that good for drifting) I’d take the thrustmaster route or Fanatec. Btw I peep the Otamatone. I have one too lol

I have a G29 and after watching this review I don't think it's worth the upgrade to this new wheel. There aren't that many differences and its price (when compared to its competition) certainly doesn't help. Abraço, Ricardo!

back when this console generation started I was forced to change the wheel, and due to not that much choice I bought T300 RS.
It works, I had one problem even contacted support, but software reinstall solved it.
As for Logitech - I had a 9 year good run with Driving Force Pro. Damn this wheel was used so much that finally it broke. First one of the microstics in the paddle shifter, later on clams.
But I had a lot of fun and there were countless hours I played with this wheel.
back then when I bought it the biggest advantage was price.
Later on the the DFGT was a good upgrade but I never switched as my DFP was working just fine.
    have a nice time gaming!

Some thoughts: some users have reported reliability problems with Thrustmaster wheels. Going for Trueforce now is becoming an early adopter, not enough titles have implemented the tech yet. Logitech wheels have gone on sale frequently in the past. Maybe hold off for a sale before picking up a G923. The Thrustmaster T150 pro is another alternative as it gives good pedals unlike the regular T150. I am using a Microsoft 360 steering wheel with Drivehub but am considering this or a Thrustmaster upgrade in the near future. This video helps me to decide. Great review, thanks!

    • @Salutifer0us
      @Salutifer0us 3 ปีที่แล้ว

As G29 owner I'd say if drifting is your main thing and you have money to spare - definitely get the T300 as it's a faster, stronger wheel, which will make drifting a breeze compared to logitech. They made the G923 faster and it's really improved in drifting from what I've seen, but like said in vid - don't bother, get T300.

There are hardware differences between g29 and g923 to make trueforce work, so it's unlikely it will work or even work well on g29. G29 has no dual clutch, which is just a software thing, but it would need to be programmed into the driver by logitech, and that's not going to happen.

The G29 is completely fine for me, and if this has the same components it will surely have even the same problems. The pedals and their damn crappy potentiometers. Too bad I found out about this common problem when it occured to me too and no review on amazon was mentioning it. The G29 will be my last logitech wheel if they don't start using more quality ones. Thank god in ACC I can set minimum and maximum limits, but it took a while for me to understand why the fuck I started having braking problems and my accelerator started to stutter (actually, this was how I understood what the problem was and noticed the spikes in the settings with the pedals fully pressed or unpressed). There's no chance I will buy the almost exactly same wheel at that price to have the same problems. Also, I never understood why they stopped using the technology of their wheels from the last 90s and first 2000s, it was way better and smoother than the classic ffb system.

It is always the same G25 with some minus improvements.
It is not actually a problem to rebrand the same wheel every 5 years since 2005: with this, Logitech can keep his state for entry level customers at every generations.
The problem is that Logitech wheels are overpriced: they started with G25 at 250€ (reasonable price), after that they put out the G27 with better FFB (due helical system) but with the loss of sequential mode on the shifter - 340€ (dunno if the improvement can justify the price tough). After this, the G29 came out with no significant FFB improvements, the rim got toons of buttons but it also have a really ugly playmobil-style, brake pedal got a rubber stopper for progressive function and the shifter can only be bought separately - 410€+60€ (at dayone) but hopefully now you can buy it on Amazon around 230€+40€ (still overpriced by me).
Now this G923 with "TrueForce" that, according about what I've read around, it seems to be just a new system that can prevent FFB clipping and no more. So basically there is a software improvement but, due gears system limitations, totally no worth the price (410€) and it would be nice if they at least make a new shifter with the 7th gear plus the come back of the sequential function.

The price comparison is a little unfair on your part. Comparing a £350 923 with a £369 T300 isn't the full picture.
The 923 comes with an improved pregressive brake pedal. Standard T300 doesn't. To get that with the T300 costs another £189. So, that makes the T300 equivelant to the 923, £210 more expensive.
T300 may be able to create a better package, but when comparing standard T300. 923 has better button layout and better pedal set. And, much cheaper than the T300 with load cell option.
Price is still good and justifies it's pricing compared against the T300.

The t300rs gt has the 3 pedal set. Any way, a set of t3pa are cheaper than 189.

@@randomcallsign Fair enough, didn't realise the RS GT wheel came with better than standard pedals.
      It's the T-LCM pedals that are £189.
They're the load cell pedals rather than the progrssive one's with the RS-GT and 923.
      My apologies ;-)

Anyone think the G29 pedals are better with a rig though? Because you'll be able to press as hard as you want, as intended without the pedal base slipping across the floor?
If I'm correct, the reason for the progressive spring in the brake pedal this time round was due to the consumer feedback from the G29 brake rubber stop pedal. Being the pedal base slipping across floors as a result of having to involve more pressure when applying the brake, due to the rubber stop (which I think with a rig it gives a more realistic breaking experience my theory is) in the G29 model. The progressive spring with the new model just provides a lighter resistance as I can only guess statistically most users have the pedal bases on their floors which means less chance of the pedal base sliding or moving across the floor or carpet or whatever, maybe?
Therefore, as I have a rig to securely bolt the pedal base to, I propose maybe using the G29 pedal set with the G923 wheel for a more optimum experience if you have a rig ? Or do you think the progressive spring is just simply better, thoughts please?

This wheel is just overpriced, they only made this true force thing is for a prize increasing.
I have the 920 and everytime i use too much force for counter steering i got the feedback if the gear in it just skips some parts (or that belt). That made me pulling the FFB to nearly a minimum, which is just worse for drifting or powersliding cars and the 923 didn't change gear in it. The best thing is quality of the build, Thrustmaster gives you more plastic and a two pedal mount for atleast the same money or more. This was my second one i got from Logitech because my first one got a Update crash from their own software... I cant recommend this wheel at all.
Playtime is around by the 3K hours or more.
