to stop spending paper and that put digital manuals on a dematerialized file (basicaly since PS3/360/Wii U) was easier and way cheaper to do only the wii kept paper manuals (although got shorter over time) because the console and discs were still a bit behind in terms of memory (and that read a manual with a wiimote would've been pain but yea i miss the time (especially during gamecube/PS2 Era) when the manuals were printed and were filled with tips and advanced instructions (and not just the game setting and controls) and even bother adding stuff just to fill lore or get in the vibe of the game it's from nowadays at best you get a control sheet and for the rest it's a digital manual with often pretty bland content and to not help they're hard to notice and easy to glance over
Manuals are obsolete, their function was to explain the games story, explain how to play and sometimes they had a few tips. They were required because games were primitive and had limited memory for storytelling. Modern games don't need manuals, most games are story based and explain their stories via cutscenes and most modern games have interactive tutorials that explain the game better than any manual could. Art books in special editions are the evolution of manuals.
@@Xfiles781 Actually most 360 games come with manuals, dlc codes, or adverts made out of paper. Now you only get DLC codes in some games, and its made out of N64 game box cardboard

I was never a fan of Player's Choice (or Platinum on PlayStation) but seeing games with manuals is just nice. I miss that stuff. Why did they ever decide to get rid of them.
I'm surprised there are no PC editions for Fire Emblem and Eternal Darkness.
to stop spending paper and that put digital manuals on a dematerialized file (basicaly since PS3/360/Wii U) was easier and way cheaper to do
only the wii kept paper manuals (although got shorter over time) because the console and discs were still a bit behind in terms of memory (and that read a manual with a wiimote would've been pain
but yea i miss the time (especially during gamecube/PS2 Era) when the manuals were printed and were filled with tips and advanced instructions (and not just the game setting and controls) and even bother adding stuff just to fill lore or get in the vibe of the game it's from
nowadays at best you get a control sheet and for the rest it's a digital manual with often pretty bland content and to not help they're hard to notice and easy to glance over
Manuals are obsolete, their function was to explain the games story, explain how to play and sometimes they had a few tips. They were required because games were primitive and had limited memory for storytelling. Modern games don't need manuals, most games are story based and explain their stories via cutscenes and most modern games have interactive tutorials that explain the game better than any manual could. Art books in special editions are the evolution of manuals.
Nintendo games will sadly never come to PC officially thank god for emulation lol
@@narukamii1 He meant Player's Choice, not Personal Computer ;D
@@Xfiles781 Actually most 360 games come with manuals, dlc codes, or adverts made out of paper. Now you only get DLC codes in some games, and its made out of N64 game box cardboard
6:58 I thought for a second it said "Sonk2"
You should do How Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is Mind Blowing!
I nearly screamed when you held four swords adventures in your hand. It's the only Zelda game i have yet to play, given how obnoxiously pricy it gets at times.
Copies, in germany, that are not littered with scratches, easily go above 110 Euros.
Same goes for Kirby Air ride, two games i have to one day get, i did buy Paper Mario 2 a few years back after saving up for it a bit, cause of how steep the prices got.
Emulate them
The prices of the duo packs will never make sense to me
Chamber of Secrets is an absolute banging game on any platform. It's the only game I own on PC, PS1, PS2, Xbox, GC, GBC and GBA. It's honestly a bloody good time and so different on each console.
I'm thankful I watched this video. I learned some new stuff.
I can tell you the reason why the artwork is out of order on the back of the sonic adventure pack,
the gamecube releases were in the opposite order, Sonic Adventure 2: battle, was released in 2001, before Sonic Adventure DX which was released in 2003
Absolutely amazing intro.
My memory card had 1029 blocks in it when I got it, now it has 1019
My biggest issues with Crash Bandicoot: lack of camera control, lack of momentum, and occasional terrible depth perception
First game can get really frustrating a lot of the time. Crash 4 is even harder but let's you play without lives if you want.
@@heavydonkeykong5190
My favorite of the original trilogy was always the 3rd game, I don't know why, but I guess it was either because of the hub world or the racing levels, I don't remember
@@benthecat4345 same here, although I only played the remakes.
@@heavydonkeykong5190
I played both the remakes and the original, I've spent the most time in the 3rd game than the first 2 of the originals and I think I've only beaten the 2nd and 3rd games
I didn’t even realize you hit 1Mil subscribers! Congrats man!!
Damn, when I saw Pikmin 2 at a local game store for 90$ ,I thought THAT was bull$h!t
i think for the case of pikmin 2 it might be the amount of content compared to the first game and the fact the EU and US box arts are different could be a factor as well
The Player's Choice was my best moments to buy retro games
Animal Crossing wasn't just planned for the N64, it still released on it in Japan
I want a poll on how many people here grew up with a Wii or a GameCube
Yes
This content is the kind of quality I would expect from someone with a million subscribers
Year
10:49 Crash is owned by Sony aswell as spyro, not Microsoft.
Uh no. They were never owned by Sony, they were owned by Naughty Dog, then sold to Activision. Then Naughty Dog got bought by Sony after Crash and Spyro got sold. Activision is now owned by Microsoft, so Crash Bandicoot and Spyro are owned my Mircosoft
@@SketchyStudio no. Because back in the 90s Crash was the Sony Mascot and the crash and spyro franchises were released on Microsoft systems after the PlayStation and Nintendo.
@@octoekid Yea it was a PlayStation exclusive but it wasn't owned by Sony
@@SketchyStudio but it was ps mascot
@@octoekid yes he was
I know why SA2B was on the top of the box and SADX at the bottom. Because SA2 was released first on the GameCube in 2001. The original SA1 release on the Dreamcast in 1998 while the DX version released on the GameCube in 2003.
Hol up, ain't you nathaniel b?
I knew someone would say it 😂
Love your extreme passion for Ninetndo. If I could go back to 2006 even for a day, it would make me so happy. Such a simpler time when games just hit different than nowadays. Keep educating us!

The Sonic Adventure art style is actually from the first game, they just never used it on any of the box art for some reason. But I vividly remember putting my dreamcast copy of the game in my computer and having a bunch of files pop up with the cast drawn in this style. I guess rereleases of the game didn't include this little bonus.
Edit: So I actually went and checked and the image of sonic used on the multipack is actually the cover for the dreamcast version of SA1
I had eggs for breakfast
I had a breakfast croissant and hot chocolate that tasted like coffee because it was a coffee creamer in it. I called it hot chocfee
I had lucky charms
Nice
7:15 I like Sonic Riders, and so does a good majority of people

7:20 "I'm the coolest"
My guess as to why the games are in the order they are in the sonic adventure box is that sa2 came out before sadx on gamecube
The nostalgic thing I remember back when I had a PS2 was playing spyro 1, best game of my life
Bro I'm watching this while playing Pikmin 2 and hearing that Pikmin 2 had been part of the players choice got me so hyped out of nowhere
9:52 I hate to be that guy but slight correction, it's just a remake of MGS1. Still a fun game though albeit having really weird over the top action oriented cutscenes that felt like the Matrix
