Mimir stated in God of War (2018), that Thor wasn't stupid enough to fight Starkadr on his own, and nor was Odin. Odin and the Aesir made Starkadr to be a monster throughout the realms and the Vanir gods and the Aesir worked together to defeat Starkadr. Thor stood no chance against Starkadr, as stated by Mimir.

It kinda goes back to my theory about Thor being the champion of the jotnar. If Laufey and thor were siblings, perhaps Laufey found out want Odin was up to and left Asgard. Thus the Allfather lost a key to unlock the mysterious behind the rift. Its possible that Laufey and Thor are half siblings. We don't really know what happened to Thor's mother after all. She could have returned to her people who might have resided in midgard. And since the dwarves mentioned that Laufey was the last guardian of the midgard giants and Thor murdered the Giants in midgard, Laufey swore revenge.

This is actually kind of similar to a norse myth "fan theory" I thought of. In the old norse language Lefuey's name roughly translates to "dried leaves", where as Loki's father's name, Ferbauti, translates to "cruel striker". This has lead some to believe that Loki's dad was some sort of lightning giant since lightning striking dried leaves create fire. So what if said lightning giant was Thor himself... obviously this probably isn't the case but it's interesting how Santa Monica might have though of some interesting connection between Thor and Lefey as well

Now, when Mimir mentions a lake-nymph named Nimue back in his homeland who was skilled in making swords, he says that Nimue had "big dreams of what she'd do with them one day," implying that when last he saw her she had not yet given out Excalibur to one King Arthur. My theory, piggybacking off one Kuba had made a video about a while ago, is that if Odin's essence has somehow survived in Huginn he might go on to become the wizard Merlin. Furthermore, I don't think it's an enormous stretch to think that he might influence Arthur to create the Round Table and fill it with knights descended from Odin's old Travelers (such as Gawain, Lancelot, etc.), turning the quest for Jotunheim into the quest for the "Holy Grail"-although what form the Grail might take (if not a literal grail) is unclear to me. Perhaps, if it is a cup, it's a relic not unlike the Mask, a deceptively simple gateway to enormous power or knowledge, or is otherwise related to the Rift. But, this time there's an otherwise innocent lad at the forefront, Arthur, who Loki/Atreus would need to be mindful of so as to not get him or his subjects hurt.
Obviously, Arthurian legend is also steeped in Celtic and Christian lore, so how Santa Monica would navigate the Christian elements without being seen as insensitive if they're included at all, would be a difficult task.

Highly implausabile that see lived in Asgard, someone would remember her, even if it was a 'we don't speak of her'. Wait, since Thor is half Giant, does that mean he also had visions of the future? Since Atreus had a vision at the end of 2018 and him being half Giant maybe Thor did too.
Now this makes me think that Faye was the giant Odin found as an infant and raised rather than Loki. Faye and Thor having grown up together, perhaps Faye got her visions of the future and shared them with Thor. Thor being Odin's lapdog when he was younger, snitched and that prompted Faye to leave.
Then after that, Thor may have had similar visions to what Faye told him, which sent him spiraling into the depressive state we see him in Ragnarok.

I will lean yes, barring Jossing by Word Of God. Their weapons were built by the same brothers, and Leviathan was crafted to fight Mjolnir. Perhaps Faye gave the Huldras some of her own blood for the mix - and therefore Thor's blood as well, if this theory is correct. Now, one might wonder why crafty Odin never revealed this while manipulating Atreus. We could argue (timelines allowing) that Faye never told the Huldras (they might have suspected but can and did keep secrets) and that perhaps Freya, Sif and Mimir came to Asgard (or the inner circle) after Faye had been disowned. Maybe one of the Aesir absent in the games violated the don't-speak-of-her rule and met their fate so swiftly and brutally, it shut down all talk forever. We could even make a real fan-stretch. Faye was close to her uncles Vili and Ve, and when they didn't return from one of Odin's obsessive journeys to find out about the Mask and the Rift, it started her path away from the Aesir. Now, I also heard somewhere that Thor accidentally killed his mother - that would have been a deal-sealer. Back to Odin, he didn't reveal this because he only wanted to once he had Atreus in full. A familial relation can be cast off. Odin had probably heard many speeches saying 'That doesn't matter' when playing someone, and so only wanted to use it to strengthen a full bond once achieved. Possibly, he felt like Atreus might hesitate before looking through the Rift with the Mask (what, you think he was going to test it himself?) and wanted this to push him forward. The wild card is Tyr - certainly old enough to know, but he's still finding his way and would want to ease Father and Son into this revelation.
BTW, let's go the rest of the way - if this is true, then Atreus is the grandson of Zeus and Odin - making him ever more the Franklin Richards of GoW.

She could be his half sister, but I very much doubt her father was Odin. That would make Odin Atreus's grandfather which Odin could've used to minipulate Atreus. Anyway if Baldur was sent to track Faye how why did he think Kratos was the giant.

Laufey does have a meaning in Old Norse. In Norse mythology, Laufey is primarily known as the mother of the god Loki. Her name is derived from the Old Norse words "lauf" meaning "leaf" and "ey" meaning "island" or "land." Therefore, Laufey can be interpreted as "leaf island" or "island of leaves." This name may be a reference to the natural world or evoke imagery of a fertile and verdant place. This links her to Atreus, with him being Loki.

Can you do A WAY more in depth theory on the next pantheon. Sorry if this sounds rude, but it sounded more like other people theories passed through your mouth. I'm pretty sure it's Egyptian first and then Hindu religon. One point is that Hindu religion is the oldest recorded religion in the world, even older then Egyptian mythology, and since the reveal of multiple pantheons other than the Greek one and especially God of War: Ragnarok with the Higher Plane Rift, the beginning of the God Of War Universe is one of the biggest mysteries of the canon, if not the biggest. If you don't make a video on it, then I'll do it, even though I'm working on my Breath of The Wilde theory.

YES! She is. Super obvious based on some of the stuff Odin said, and the behavior of Thor towards Atreus. I had this thought since 2018, since they made Laufey a woman, because Laufey is the KING of the Frost Giants, so that's why I believed right off the bat that they were going to say she is Odin's daughter.

I can’t believe no one else has bought this up but you know the huge lightning bolt at the crater that is driving the theory. Why does it exist, surely it has to point to something sure it’s good evidence of her rage but why was the battle with Thor of all possible people she could have fought. They’re definitely trying to hint at something about their relationship and what else makes sense besides typical sibling fights. And then with the two of them being the only two significant redheads and also both giants Santa Monica must have known players would speculate about them being related

  • @House_of_Green

  • @alexkeane9594

Okay, I think this theory is true and that it is what convinced Faye that she should try and alter fate. 1st I don't think Faye couldn't defeat Thor, and only did as well as she did be cause he was incredibly drunk at the time. Thor was destined to be the one to permanently kill Kratos before he talked Thor out of it. So my theory is eventually Thor beats Faye down and demands to know who she was. Faye tells him that she is the daughter of Fjörgyn, and is there to avenge her mother and all the other giants Thor has killed. Thor, shaken, reveals that neither he nor his father killed the two's mother. Fjörgyn used her foresight to learn that Thor, a young boy at the time, would grow up to be a monster, a destroyer, and she told him this and that nothing could change his fate before she killed herself over the shame of giving birth to the thing that would murder her race. Out of shame, Thor lets Faye go, and this convinces the giantess to try and alter fate. It would explain Faye's motives, and how Thor seems so ashamed over his nature while at the same time seemingly being depressed over his inability to change it (might also explain his alcoholism).

Hey Kuba I have a theory.
Durlin’s squid is special. When kratos and atreus first visit durlin, they as him about the whereabouts of tyr, durlin’s squid, Dînner, gives atreus a seed to niflhiem. And by the end of the game we find out real tyr is in niflhiem.
But here’s where it gets ominous, the prison that real tyr is in was actually in Asgard, it teleported to nflhiem after ragnarok.
Could durlin’s squid be able to forsee and knew that real tyr would end up in niflhiem. Or is it just coincidence that the squid gave atreus a niflhiem seed?

You could have used the myths to back up the theory, in norse myth laufey was listed as a god, aesir or vanir is not clear, but she was the reason as to why loki was allowed into asgard despite his father Firbati being a giant. Whilst in asgard, Faye could be a lesser Aesir. Whilst in jotunheim she is laufey. She was a spy in the halls of asgard, a being so insignificant to freya and mimir that they would have been non the wiser to her true identity.

Faye is Thor's Half Sister and the gloves were given to her by their mother to wield hammer, before Thor killed her for having an Affair with Fayes Father. Freya met Faye before her marriage to Odin and before Faye got the Axe and the Frozen Lightning in Vanaheim.

  • @sneakycreakin4782
    @sneakycreakin4782 ปีที่แล้ว

Maybe Faye’s true name is Fjörgyn and she kinda faked her death after living a double life as Laufey the Just. It would be a great reason for her to want to hide her past from kratos. She doesn’t want him to know she is thors mother and odins ex wife. This is why she drank with Thor, her own son. He was drinking with his mom (at the time Fjörgyn). She would have been living a double life by this point cause the axe that froze the lightning was made for laufey the just brok and sin would have only known her as laufaye. Who was a rumor in Asgard. This would explain why she was able to ruin so many Aesir plans in Asgard cause she was a spy. Then the fight in the crater happens and this is when Thor thinks he killed his mother. Who later hides in the woods now fully going by her other identity as Faye.

My theory is on the next game and how kratos will get to the different pantheon for next game. Kratos figured out that while Atreus was on his adventures he wanted to go see different places but not in the Norse pantheon, other ones. Atreus will want to go to the Greek pantheon because he only knows so little about from what kratos has told him. Atreus will either get help from Tyr or Jõrmungandr to get their. When he gets help from one of them he tries to do it but messes it up and ends up in Egyptian or japanese mythology. Kratos will then get news about it and will go get his son. When kratos appears in either one he will be known for what he has done in his past and will be hated and targeted.

Hey Kuba! I have a theory that adds to your Faye prequel game idea. What if it will be a sequel and a prequel.
Faye did not worry about teach Atreus Jotnar things, becouse she know that he will learn the time travel somehow.
I say the next game will be an Atreus sequel that takes place mostly in the past with Faye, learning about the giants and where they are.
I think the game mechanic could be the same what we saw in Ragnarok. She will be the compenion and sometimes we could play with her.
