Pausing at 12:47 to say a couple of things. 1) Feel better soon Chelsea! 2) Love the new set up. 3) I love where Lucy is right now and she should have a small decoy mic because she clearly has opinions and I would like to hear them.
I’m so happy to have this podcast back! I loved having extra Kill Counts, for sure... but I can’t really listen to those in the background while I work. So glad the podcast is back. Love these folk.
Oohh now that you mentioned Guillermo del Toro's Pan Labyrinth, the genre is Magical Realism, and it's a genre that mainly surged and flourished in Latin America literature, it would be really cool if you made a podcast about movies in this genre PD. Sorry if there are mistakes , English is not my first language
I really love Pans Labyrinth. Do you have any other similar movies you would recommend? By the way, you can not tell that English is not your first language by your comment.
When I search "movie podcasts" on spotify, Dead Meat is towards the top of the recommended. They're doing pretty good. I dont think it's underrated, just not AS appreciated as the KC series. Which is still shameful lol
So something really interesting about Apostle; it was directed by Gareth Evans, who is best known for directing The Raid movies. So basically, he went from directing two of the most insane, violent, high-octane martial arts action movies ever put to the screen, to directing a brutal, slow-burn, cult horror movie. Those are two completely different genres, but he masterfully utilized many of the skills he learned in one to compliment the other. And more recently, he's combined all those skills while working as the creative spearhead for the TV show Gangs of London, which is a crime drama with elements of action and horror. He's a man of many skills. Oh yeah, he also directed the absolutely mental "Safe Haven" segment in V/H/S/2, alongside Timo Tjahjanto. Timo Tjahjanto then went on to direct The Night Comes For Us on Netflix, which even though it wouldn't be covered on the Kill Count or on a Pawdcats, because it's not horror; I'd still super recommend you watch it whenever you have the time, because it has the best, most insane practical gore effects I've ever seen.
Idle hands is one of my favorite movies growing up because I was a big Devon Sawa fan. it definitely doesn’t always hold up with the romantic storyline but I still think all of the comedy in it with the zombie boys is worth it.
How could we forget the podcast? I totally got drawn into the channel for James and the Kill Counts but the moment the podcast kicked into gear I was hooked. Chelsea puts so much research into so many things and it’s fascinating to hear the two of y’all go to town on various topics. DMP has become my absolute favorite Dead Meat show. Welcome back and congrats on the house and new set!
I love the new set! It’s refreshing how different the vibe is from the kill count set...they are both amazing but it feels like a completely new thing now!
My partner and I got Shudder a few weeks ago and we love it. It's great having access to more of the J, K, and French horror we both love instead of just dozens of low budget crap.
The Blackcoat's Daughter is one of my Top 5 Horror Movies of the Decade, I think it's incredible, so I'm definitely disappointed you guys weren't big on it, but I understand where you're coming from. Anyways, so excited to see the podcast back! Hope you guys are doing well!
Blackcoats daughter is one of my favorites too probably my new favorite movie honestly I'm really disappointed they didn't like it but as you said I can see why it was a slow movie and there weren't many scary scenes but i think the fact that the character Is afraid to be only makes me like it more bcuz I relate to that a lot and I thought the movie was directed really well I also thought that the atmosphere and eerie music made it really good
I had a tonsillectomy, a septoplasty, and my sinuses cleared in March and it was fucking rough. I feel your pain Chelsea! Glad to hear you're doing better. 💚
Absolutely love the new set vibe! Awesome work! Also fun fact: I also had nose surgery because of a deviated septum right before grade 12 and was in bed for soooo long-the best part is that that was when I started watching Drunk Disney! Been watching both of your channels ever since 👏😊💙
I find it really cool that they tried watching a horror movie every day in the month of October, mostly because i did the same thing and was able to watch 31 horror movies that i hadn't seen during October, and it was really fun.
love the new setup! quarantine hair also is looking good - thanks for coming back since I definitely needed a break from checking the election news constantly
Fellow Septum Deviate here. Mine is not as bad as Chelsea's sounded. Just wanted to say glad you recovered from your surgery. Been debating on getting it for a while. Enjoy the better nostril air flow :)
Watched Crimson Peak last night and I'd like to thank you guys for reviewing it. Really loved it, especially those last 20 minutes were just brutal! The main antagonist is terrifying in a way I just didn't expect throughout the rest of the movie. That's what I love about Guillermo Del Toro's films, the majority of them, excluding the Hellboy films and Pacific Rim, feel like original fairy tales. Not like the sanitized Disney fairy tales, but actual fairy tales, where things can go from pleasantly peaceful and wonderous to brutal and disgusting in just a few moments. It's great. Still gotta watch 12 Hour Shift, but judging by the fact that Angela Bettis is the lead, I have no doubt it will be good.
I'm so glad you guys are back! I hope you enjoyed your break Chelsea (terrible recovery aside, I'm sorry it was so much harder than you were expecting) and the set looks great!
its hilarious to see them in this stage of moving, so relatable having the base stuff set up and looking nice, and then you just sit in a folding metal chair when you finally have the time to breath
This was a wonderful format! As much as I enjoy the longer review episodes, which are always entertaining, this provides us with a great viewing list for the weeks to come. Love the new set!
You guys should edit in the name of the movies you're talking about onscreen as you're reviewing them, a few times I was a bit lost because I wasn't sure about which movie you were speaking of.
I had that surgery too, the worst part was when they clean out your nasal cavity for the first time after the filling comes out. Although on my list of surgeries it was by far my easiest one. My 4 heart surgeries and Carotid Artery aneurysm surgery trump all my other ones. I’m only 39 and I’ve had 13 surgeries of varying types.
Super excited to see your interview with Kathryn Newton and to see Freaky when it comes out! That scene where Vince Vaughn is trying to convince his friends that he's Millie reminds me of that scene in Hot Chick and now I just feel like Freaky is the slasher version of that 😂😭

Addams Family Values is way better. I liked the new animated one.
You two need some big comfy chairs to just chill in
I immediately think of their Stanley Hotel trip and those big lobby chairs. Can't remember if there was a fire, but that would be great, too.
Been a while since a nice podcast. I love your new setup by the way .
1st comment btw I'm a big fan!

Why do I keep seeing you everywhere Wutaii1? I don’t watch your but I keep seeing you everywhere’
@Miguel Messina hm. But his channel. A bunch of fundraisers. WHO THE HELL ARE THEY?
WOW I liked Chelsea's hair and am I the only one who noticed that her voice changed a little bit?
i don't think it changed, i think it's just we haven't heard it in a while
Yeah , I think it changed just a bit. The surgery probably helped with the airflow when she speaks
@@tracerjames51 probably cause of her deviated septum getting fixed.
It could also be the new mics they got, too. Sometimes mics subtly effect voice quality.
@@scottlovesmoviestoomuch probably
Now that Chelsea's growing her hair out, for some reason she reminds me of Anna Kendrick.
I had to think more of Anne Hathaway ^^
@@Ziraca her too!
James and Chelsea thirsting over older men and women is so endearing.
This is such a bizzare yet accurate statement.

Oh gosh, that intro makes me suuuper excited about getting my deviated septum fixed haha. I missed Chelsea & the podcasts, so happy they’re back!! 🥺🖤

So glad there's a new podcast. I went back and binged all the others. This is my favorite channel!
I think Chelsea has a little crush on James, make sure to keep it a secret though ;)

Chelsea is always so beautiful. Welcome back!
James seems to have found himself a good one. Much respect.
Why do the kill counts get over a 1000 comments in 1 minute and the podcasts get 50 comments in 1 minute?😭
These podcasts are sooooo underrated!😭
IKR? My friend only watches the kill counts and doesn’t even know about the podcast... he’s seriously missing out
Understandably, not a lot of people like podcasts, me being one of them. This IS Dead Meat tho...
Because no one wants to see an unedited video with 2 people talking for 1 hour and 20 minutes
Every non kill count is underrated
