Thanks for the very helpful information! One question left: How did the shot taste with the new screen and basket -- could you detect any differences in taste compared to prior setup?
Hey sorry for the late response. I remember the flavor being more or less the same but the body of the espresso more syrupy. over all, a sweeter/smoother shot.
Hello. Good question actually. There are many ways. Here are a few: it may take longer to grind and frequent dose, you’ll find your grind setting finer than usual, increased inconsistency and fines.
Thanks for your videos. I'm building a cart for my daughter and son-in-law. They have the exact same machine and grinder as well as a Shurflo water pump and fridge. I'm looking for a schematic of the electrical system setup for the cart. Yours seems like the perfect setup. If you could provide that, I would be forever grateful. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Hello! Sorry for the late response. I actually wouldn’t recommend my electrical setup because the outlets and box is not water resistant. You would need GFI outlets and a box that is rated for outdoor use. This will protect your gear if your pump or some other unusual water leak happens. Consider the following: www.zoro.com/ge-power-outlet-5-20r2gfci-5x7-120v-20a-u010s010grp/i/G3473653/ www.homedepot.com/p/Reliance-Controls-Twist-Lock-20-Amp-125-250-Volt-Plug-L1420P/202216502 Your going to need 12/3 300-Volt CU Black Flexible Portable Power SJOOW Cord And lastly an adapter to utilize a regular 15 amp outlet when 20 amp is not available. I’ve seeing electrical packages already built for carts, but I couldn’t find it o line. The idea is to protect your equipment and pass inspection. I hope this information is helpful. Best, Napo
Jay B. Hey, it depends on how much you use your grinder. As you can see, we pulled over 1,500 shots with these Burrs in less than a year. We started seeing more clumping than usual, and our grinder was taking longer to grind 20 g of coffee.
these burrs grinded only 71lbs of coffee compared to 650lb life recommended by mazzer. i calculated by 1537 (shot calculator) multiple by 21gm divided by 454 to get answer in lbs so basically you changed burrs after 10% of usage
Uzair Hanif Good to know, thanks for researching and doing the math! Good thing Instill have them! The new Burr set did feel sharper than the older ones and I did notice less clumping... I was hoping that new Burrs would increase speed, but it didn’t make much a difference. Thanks again!
@@NapoleonRinconHomeBarista Hello, I am really pleased to see you did bother to actually remove the burrs and clean them by hand; this is almost always omitted or substituted with cleaning granulate because of laziness. I would recommend, however, to bath both burrs and all the three springs in slightly soaped warm water and then to dry tu perfection with soft cloth and after that have a hair drayer applied. Also, vacuum is a must in the cleaning process and I struggled to understand why you tend to use tamper as it is perfectly doable on its own. As Uzair Hanif already noted, it’s absolutely redundant to remove burrs having a mere 10 % usage. Clumping has a number of factors involved so it cannot be atributed solely to wear. See a handy table: www.espressoparts.com/resources/barista-basics/grinder-burr-maintenance
@@zlutyzakaznik679 Thanks! I agree, granulated cleaners are helpful but it does not compare to removing the burrs and cleaning them by hand. I guess if a person doesn't feel capable of removing and realigning the burrs, using granulated cleaners is the next best option.
Thanks buddy very helpful!
Thank you, the pleasure is mine.
