The parallels of your journey and ours are striking. My wife's dad passed in the last year as well. Hope we meet up out there! No paralysis by analysis for you! Onward and upward!

So sorry about your Dad Tony. Oh man, we so feel everything you guys are going thru. Designing and building a new boat is soo so hard. Everything you say here is what we feel - sleepless nights, anxiety, worries and drama. Sunken Money & time don't dictate your future or a more eloquent quote - “Your history of failure is your foundation. If you have failed, that is evidence you have tried. That you have attempted to improve your status quo.” We really hope to be able to share an anchorage with you some day here in the South Pacific. Ben & Ash

You two are such incredible people and I feel no matter where you are or what boat you’re on, you create a sense of family around you.
Ride the low times and hang on, as the deepest lows can birth the most amazing highs in life. All the best!

Home is wherever you guys make it on the water with your family, thanks for taking us on the journey warts n all 👊- I reckon it will be a sense of relief and now you can focus on something you might not have to worry so much about cost.
I’ve had the best memories with my family in my 14ft tinny!
Looking forward to ya next adventure. 🫡

Good on you for looking at the brightside. I feel for you in terms of the sale and sacrifices of a well developed business, brand and lifestyle model in Mangawhai. If one thing is for certain the human body and mind is very powerful and with a little willingness can overcome any turmoil and rebuild anywhere time and time again. Enjoy the Journey, one small step at a time

Just a few thoughts, yes new is good but secondhand can be better as all the bugs will hopefully have been ironed out. Pretty sure a Lagoon Cat would suit your needs, and as you rightly said, it's a buyer's market. Maybe even overseas purchase, check out Parlay Revival they rebuilt a hurricane-damaged cat. Anyway good luck with your projects. Cheers Marty.

100%, a second hand boat could be an easier option and less stress, a few mods to make it suit what tyou need it for and your away lot quicker.

Good luck. You can change to fabrication to the Philippines. The Mumby 48 is an aluminum catamaran built in the Philippines.

Can you educate us about the pitfalls you've hit that caused them to change pricing? Didn't you have a purchase contract with agreed pricing? I feel for you, having commissioned a custom cat & project went off the rails. Look maybe for a good kit boat?

Very sad news as I know what it meant to you both? But the four of you are still together, happy and healthy and loving the life. Sometimes you look back on life and wonder why some things were so important. It will all sort itself out in the wash. It happened for a reason and you will soon be on your way xxxx

Things happen for a reason, no point stretching yourself financially to point you cannot live the dream.
If you're enjoying Ohope. find a fibreglass cat and modify her in Whakatane. Have it ready to leave for Fiji next May/ June.

@@mathewmacpherson857 sadly for us time is very important, waiting to try and find a builder then wait for the build will eat into another couple of years, our kids are at the right age now and we want to cherish that.
