- We made it out of the shipyard. Re-fit all complete, checks done and now its time to do a short trip to the Bahamas so we can re-enter the USA and get a cruising permit to allow us to move freely around the East Coast of the USA during hurricane season.
Lots of highs on this trip until it was time to go back to Florida, we hit a rock when leaving the anchorage.

Gutted for you Tony, nothing to be embarrassed about mate - Take the lows with the highs!
In the scheme of things, a minor hic-up, you'll be sharper and stronger for it!
@@NZFisherVids thanks mate, she is all fixed and maybe a little wake up call to get us in tune for the future.
You have a beautiful family and a beautiful boat living an intentional life. The boat is repaired, you are back in the water, and Bob's your uncle!
Just found your channel. Enjoyed the video. Safe travels.
Just wondering if there is Bull sharks there, i was always under the impression the Bahamas was a hot spot for Bullies and that canal network would be prime for them
Bummer mate, gutted for ya. Only real men admit to there mistakes and we all learn something from them.
Looking forward to the next vid. Cheers.
Lucky, it was only the "easy to fix" keel job and not also the prop and rudder. New boat mistakes are likely to happen, and you quickly learn from them. Many years ago, with a new boat I dropped a complete saildrive leg on top of a rock in the middle of nowhere while fishing near the Mercury Islands, NZ. At least, I was able to reuse the propeller.
Enjoy the trip north.
Living the dream. Boat fixed. No on hurt. Winner winner ! What is the cool tune playing when you arrive back at the yard in Florida ?
I glanced a rock at Split Apple Rock outside Kaiteriteri while adjusting the sounder.....embarrassing to say the least ....all the best for your great adventure and family journey.
@@wpvanniekerk thanks mate, only takes a split second, luckily easy fixed!
unfortunate mishap mate but looks to be easy repair by that guy. onward and upward
Beautiful family and boat. You all are going to make so many memories. Now that you got through a mishap, smooth sailing ahead.

A damaged ego is the easiest thing you will ever fix on your boat.
Sacrificial keel. No biggie.
