      I wonder if it uses more or less chemicals between foam and non foaming?

    Bob, you have got to check out the vacuum extractor attachment for the Chief steamer. If you thought your rig with your shop vac was good now, wait til you try it with steam.

    That chief steamer is game changing. Unlike the McCullough you can run continuously and when it’s getting low on water just fill it without having to wait for it to cool to open. Just be careful heating APC on plastic doors cause it’ll burn sometimes. Id just use steam on everything lol

    You want it to look more perfectly matte doing a deep cleaning as you are bringing back the oem finish. It looks dry bc your removed everything to remedy this simply apply a conditioner. Ultima makes an amazing easy to use one that can be used for all surfaces. This will darken and add a smooth feel.

    • @ChemX
      @ChemX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s def a need to condition after steaming stuff ends up dryyyyy

    You'll love the Chief steamer, had mine 2 years. I run tornador blow gun, tornador max, and steam machine at the same time. My process is chemical via tornador max, detail brush, steam (rinse, flush out cracks and crevices), the tornador blow gun wth towel to dry. I can get around nasty vehicles really fast

    • @ChemX
      @ChemX  ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds like a lot of fun, I have a Tornador max as well I’m going to have to try that along with it. What was the best soap to add into the Tornador for you and what strength?

    • @ethanblan435
      @ethanblan435 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChemX I’d honestly just use water or something super mild. The tornador atomizes so finely that the chemicals you use are being breathed in and even get absorbed into your skin.

      @ChemX can you use this device with your snake oil? In the colder weather, I can't use my pressure washer at my house. And truck stop washes don't have an interchangeable tip to put foam cannon attachment on. Please help be much appreciated as my semi is dye for another b er application of your snake oil. Love that stuff.

    If you open up the ac vents , run the steamer into one vent and it’ll push it all through the others. Or push it into the one under a seat and it’ll run through it all.

    In my experience the best way to wash engine bay with disconnected battery. First of all if cleaner or water get into electric connectors, fuses, bad wires etc it would not start corrosion because without electricity it is wery slow process, may need years to see some insignificant oxides on open wires, and i think that you wash cars way faster) Second there is non waterproof parts like starter and alternator. My personal method is disconnect battery, use more concentrated cleaner, wery good rinse with low pressure and then blow all water, especially from spark plugs and coils.

    • @ChemX

      I’m thinkin engine off, battery disconnected, I agree strong but minimal amount of soap and I’m gonna try my steamer to rinse on the next round🤔

    You should wear a mask when you’re kicking up that junk with the tornador 😵‍💫
    Better yet get the tornador velocity vac I love mine. It’s a tornador combined with a shop vac so you’re vacuuming all that junk at the same time your kicking it up. Plus you won’t have the problem of the dust moving back and forth like you mentioned around 4:24

    How much running time on the spray pump with the battery?

    • @williamr4053
      @williamr4053 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The battery will run for about an hour of continuous use. Roughly 4 hours to charge. I just bought one without the battery option. I’ll just pump after each panel, or use my air compressor or portable tire inflator. Didn’t want to add anymore weight or cost.
      This pump sprayer is right around $130. Add the battery option and it’s $250. I wanted something that would foam a vehicle, but also be portable. Electric pressure washer still needs a power source.
      I take my car to a car wash bay, but the pressure washers are a bit too powerful and the soap mine offers is too harsh. I wash with a 2 bucket method because of that. I’m hoping I can get most of the foam a pressure washer and foam cannon would offer, but all the portability of a pump sprayer for when I’m washing my vehicle not at home.

    I literally dont do anything special too clean an engine bay. Soak down in apc, scrub, pressure wash, let dry while washing the exterior and wipe it down with dressing at the end.
    Literally EVERYING in your engine bay wont be hurt by a little bit of apc and some water. It lives in the elements, rain, snow or otherwise.
