ONE of the BEST songs that Journey ever released.

The best in my opinion.

Best song. Feeling/Anytime #2
@@pewsterbaby Thanks!
And THAT boy's and girls, is how Rock guitar is done.
Yup. Stellar guitar work.
The studio solo layed down on whos crying now is...
STUDIO PERFECTION
And bass guitar!
And the bass is just as good. This song is amazing
@@jaylong4705 Yep, the guitar is perfection and the bass is even better... Journey's best song, just a masterpiece!
Man I miss the 80's.
Least you got to live em
Me too.every day.
ME TOO!!! My HAPPY DAYS.
I do too!
@DDEx29
This was early on 80's
Such a.great party song
Happy 75th birthday to the greatest voice ever Steve Perry!🎶✌🏼❤️🥰😍
If I remember correctly Evelyn, Steve Perry was named as having the "Golden Voice of Rock and Roll", back in the day. After growing up in the 1980's and often revisiting several of my favorite (at the time of course) Journey songs over the decades, I really must agree with you. Steve Perry definitely had the best, most unique, and most musical voice, as the lead singer of Journey. I just wish that the band members could have gotten along better with each other. I understand the infighting that happened amongst Journey's band members most likely prevented the band from releasing a lot more awesome music/songs over the years. Regardless, I am 100% grateful for what Journey did release and their performances, at the end of the day were great as well. Fred
Lots of likes should follow
Damn, He's that old?
@@MrJgreig72 Caught me off guard too. Then realized I just hit 56. Yikes
@@gordocarbo Yeah I'm 51 be 52 in July.
If you weren’t rocking in the 80’s, I’m sad for you.
I wasn't alive then😅
I agree!
😅 the best ever,oh
I miss it
🙂
right there with you! I'm now 54
One of Journey's most underrated songs imo...One of my all time favorites...Crank it up!!!
It' Rocks...Even Today.....
Ikr. My dad listens to this one a lot and here I thought it was one of their biggest songs only to be surprised with little views. I think this son is amazing, especially that outro guitar solo.
My grandma wants it low because she likes the music to be soft and I want it loud
@Wilt Chamberlain is the GOAT my grandma is in her mid-70’s I am ten lol
The explosion of notes on the lead guitar beginning at 3:29 is mind blowing!!!
It's a time. It's a place. It's an age. When you're young at heart and young in soul. Both inexperienced and naive but not caring because the most important thing is the "right now". And as you get older, you realize those were the best days of your life.
When I was living it I already knew it was going down in history for me
Damn right!!
Great post!

Very well said🤘🤘🤘🤘! I was in junior high when this came out. I am 58 years old now. Young, loved music, not a care in the world…those were the days❤
CRIMINALLY underrated, as a single, and as a song in the 80s
It's not even on their greatest hits???
@@johnjeffreys6440 It's really a shame, they could have traded out one of the Raised On Radio songs for this banger
@@nathanweems5636 makes no sense. wonder the reason

Neal is a beast, no doubt.
One of the very best no question.
It's not even on their greatest hits???
Totally 🎉🎉
I'm 52 years old. I will die listening to this kind of music. Journey was the bomb. What a wonderful experience...
I'm going on 56 doing the same. Rock on brother!!
51 here. They don't make music like they did in the "Good old days", do they? Sad times 😞 These kids don't know lol
I'm the same age brother. And hell yeah, great memories. Thanks to my older brother & sister I saw Journey 4 times. They're both gone now, but I still smile hearing these amazing songs.
Right there with ya buddy. Chillzzzzzzzzzz
im 30 but the song is beautiful like you get on the bus and then you are excited to go home to the province.✌️✌️
A guitar solo, for the ages. Thank you, Neal Schon! So underrated.
Yes this song is so good! The chord progression on the guitar solo is addictive
@@kaylas98 Nice to see a younger generation, appreciating older tunes! Cheers, love✌🏼♥️

So true this guy could play rings many they place ahead of him.
This song deserved to be the bigger hit than Don’t Stop Believin’. The outro solo is out of this world!
"Stone" is a good song.. but come on. A hit song needs a killer hook. No killer hook here, sorry.
R2-D2😅
@@AcmeQualityVideos Shit, every line in this song is a hook! "Golden girl, I'll keep you for-e-vuh", "She found me singing by the railroad tracks, took me home we danced by the moonlight".... I mean just the brilliant lyrics are hooks... the gosh damn incredible guitar licks are hooks... the bass is full of hooks.. the creative yet basic drum beat is a hook. This is the most perfect, feel good rock song ever recorded. Better than Don't Stop Believing? Maybe not better, but equal.
Youre damn good!
@@chrisa1125hell yes
This was by far the most underrated song on this album. The title track is another very underrated piece.
I totally agree! I was 16 when this cool jam was playing over the airwaves. Dedicated this song to my Golden Girl I was dating back in the day.
I was 14. This song showed me what I was missing.

July here! Best guitar solo ever
This is by far my favorite Journey song. Love the bass line coming through loud and clear and it probably has my favorite drum line
I’m always listening for that bass line. This one surely delivers!!! Duran Duran were big on bass! ❤❤

Some people are just given a talent. Steve could belt out a tune.
Talent, or others around him telling him to put down the drums and sing. You sound awesome?
Stone in love, forever.
I hope all the fossils in this comment section can appreciate that I as a 17 year old still enjoy this music ;)
Music doesn't have a date on it, other than its birth date. As soon as it's born, it lives forever. Press play and explore your soul, young one! Stay hip, stay young, live forever.

One of the greatest songs ever.

So terribly upbeat! How can you help from smiling
Ross Valory kills it on bass here. Jonathan Cain plays rhythm guitar. Steve Smith always delivers on drums, and as always Neal delivers kick ass guitar. And Steve Perry is........ well, Steve Perry. Enough said.
I didn't know Cain played guitar on this, but now I can hear his sensibility behind that rhythm guitar. Thx!

UNBELIEVABLY FITTING SONG THAT REMINDS ME OF THE SUMMER OF 1986
We got to grow up to some of the best music . Kids today don’t have a clue how much fun we had before cell phones .
I'm 28. I've listened to plenty of music from 60'-10's. Not just hits but bands of the time. There is tons of garbage from all generations. Just saying. My favorite decade of music happens to be from the 75'-85'.
18 year old here. Don't use a cellphone, and I love these songs. I own this album on CD.
Tossed my cel out a year ago best thing I ever did. We were meant to be outside, interact with others etc not sit in a dark room staring at a screen. YT with my coffee nothing else web related
This song is perfect. One of the best bass lines ever! And I mean it: best of all times, all genres of music. Period!
Absolutely, one of my favorite rock tunes ever, and one of the best! Total perfection!
Never heard it till you mentioned it. And you're right. Thanks bro!
Golden girl I’ll keep you forever !!!! 💯
I played this song as a workout stance for my Air Force crew as the lead NCO in 2018. The night the Washington Captials won their 1st Stanley Cup. It was early June 2018. Now, I am a Sabres fan and this was just the memory for the moment. I was 34. I knew how to 'surprise my troops' so with the younger generation working out Crossfit to "Stone In Love" all I heard was "this sounds like high school music". Man, during that circuit training session, them saying that brought tears and joy to my eyes. Needless to say; all troops successfully completed the workout with question about the 'workout music' I played on my 5th Gen IPod. In the words of "Borat" (Sasha Baren Cohen)
"A Great Success!!"
...and believe me, if I could do it, I would 💯 do it again and again. Thanks Steve Perry, Neal Schon, and Journey to remind me "old music" isn't old, it's just not understood...yet.
Love,Love,Love,Journey & the 80's there were& are the best of the best. When I listen to Journey it bring me back to my teen yrs.😊
Amazing song and some of the best rock lead guitar ever! 🙌🏼
Summer of 1981 I was 14 year's old and I just graduated from 8th grade and remember meeting my blue Jean girl that summer omg this song just brings back those summer nights and day's WOW I got goosebumps listening to this! Man those were the day's I go back for sure and do it again 🎸🤘🤘🤘

The ‘80s were a lot of fun.
I feel bad for any kid today that doesn't know who Journey is...❤️

Best outro ever and that bass!
Those crazy night, I do remember in my youth
I do recall, those were the best times, most of all
In the heat with a blue jean girl, burnin' love comes once in a lifetime
She found me singing by the railroad track
Took me home, we danced by moonlight
Chorus:
Those summer nights are callin', stone in love
Can't help myself, I'm fallin' stone in love
Old dusty roads, led to the river, runnin' slow
She pulled me down, and in clover we'd go 'round
In the heat with a blue jean girl, burnin' love comes once in a lifetime
Oh the memories never fade away, golden girl, I'll keep you forever
This was my freshman year in high school 😊
Damn me too where did the frkn time go???
THIS TUNE IS OUTRAGEOUSLY AMAZING AND POWERFUL!!!!! A lot of soul!!!!!
Journeys music was on another level but the Cover Art was also gorgeous.
Steve Perry.....Sam Cooke's greatest admirer......Lovely song......I was Stone in love with a girl when I first heard this song ...Still Stone in Love with her 35 years later !!
Damn, Journey made such fantastic music on this album. So encapsulates those times of Jordache blue jeans, abundant hair, and getting your first pair of Nikes.
I had a pair of Steve Perry Nikes. I had bought a pair that was the same ones that he always wore!
If that ain't one of the most intense outro solos ever! Damn.

Give me goosebumps. Want to cry, reminds me of high school daze when Journey was the it band!!

Truly timeless music. This music will still be entertaining our great grand children when we're all gone.
All good music is timeless. Music doesn't have a date, other than its birth date. As soon as music is born, it lives forever. Keep on singing, keep on living!
I traveled with this band and we will never forget the feeling of the tours and the way it was during shows. We were a family and many beautiful friendships were made that have lasted to this day!

@@thedubstepdoge OK, THE VOICE OF JOURNEY!!
Steve Perry and Neil Schon made Journey.
This album came out the year after I graduated High School. You know, that time when you're either deciding what you're going to do with your life or you say "f*** it" and go have fun with your friends at the beach. I chose the latter, and this song serves to hold so many of those fantastic memories it's insane. To this day I can't look at a sunset without hearing Schon's haunting guitar closer.
I was 19 when this song came out it reminds me of my first love in h.s.we have been together for 47 yrs now
That doesn't/didn't happen for nearly as many as it should have in our generation. Those after us even less so. Ain't it a shame. It's wonderful that it happened for you though. Here's to it never ending! Toast!

From left speaker to right and back! My life is the shit!
This baseline is just on another level. Such a tight band. So good. Love Journey
Was shoo-ing my high school sweetheart out my bedroom window in the middle of the night to this song as my dad was coming up the stairs, circa 1987 (didn't get caught.) When I asked a mutual friend twenty years later to ask him on my behalf what the song was on the radio as that was happening, I walked in to work to find a dozen yellow roses with a card that said, "golden girl, I'll keep you forever. Always, Sean." 🤗🥰
Thank you journey for your music
My favorite Journey song, bar none. It was playing strong on FM radio two years after my high school graduation and became my fave. Everyone in the band fires on all cylinders, but lately I've been loving Ross Valory's bass in particular. Still love the crunching guitar of Neil Schon, especially the long lead outro. It's a groove, baby!
For me personally this song is in regards to the summer of 1989 in Rochester, NY when I was still 18 years old on the verge of turning 19….. It was my most memorable summer! Chasing and then spending time with the girl I was “stone in love” with. I’m gonna be 54 in a few months. Those days were a long time ago but at the same time they also seem like they were just the other day. It’s sad how life really does fly by in the blink of an eye!!
This IS one of Journey’s finest songs, ever! This song is relevant to anytime any place in America (because of certain phrases) but everyone can relate! The groove is killin’. The instrumentation and performance is outrageously excellent with melodies and a strong chorus that begs for your sing along! And with the” Layla “ ending, it just busts out with that climax of an amazing and out of this world solo accompanied by a thunderous bass that goes all the way to the climax with the lead voicing!! Whew!!!
The song Escape is great, too. I went decades without hearing it.
Thank God I was born in 1968. When good music was born
I was 19 when this album came out, and this is my favorite tune on it ... It brings back memories when life was much simpler, and I was with my own _"Blue Jean Girl"!_ Those were the days!
The Journey song that non-Journey fans love. How to make a I-IV-V song really interesting with a bumping bassline, and of course a coda that moves to a sharp V
Awesome, Awesome, what I would love to have Journey sing this to me!!
My favorite part, of the words is " Old Dusty roads, led to the river, running, slow.".
Big, BIG sound….solid rocker in every aspect
Schon was a master of guitar dynamics.....never over - played .
And the nostalgia comes flooding back in familiar waves! Man I'd give anything to go back for even a day. We were so cool, even if only in our own minds. ❤
