Now, as for Lady & the Tramp, I have cracked two mysteries about this Disney film! The first is Darling's real name, and the second is about the Tramp's history/puppyhood based on clues found in the original movie.

It could be that after Tramp was ditched by his owners, other stray dogs found him much later and he became apart of them, but may have even had another part of him that made him more of a lone wolf sort of dog. If you noticed it seemed that every stray dog knew him or knew of him as if he was legendary, including some of the dogs in the junkyard dogs and the pound in the first movie. He even rescued the dogs by humans possibly for the theory you suggested.
It could be that he had two different lives as a stray. He hung out by himself and maybe with the group of junkyard dogs at other times. When Tramp met Lady he may of hung out less with the Junkyard gang.

I think this too, my original comment:
I can see how Tramp is dumped by his former owners and he decides to live by his own rules, but why would that neccesserely mean he isn't part of a "gang"? It is still possible he has lived there for a while before deciding it was nothing for him. I mean, he lives by his own rules, so why wouldn't it be possible? This story just gave us more information about Tramps backstory from the streets. This could also explain why he could survive so long on the streets until he had learned to to survive on his own.....
hmm, i really like my headcannon now, i'm off. I'm rewatching Lady and the Tramp and Scamp's Adventure again ;-)

      @maddyinthemaking 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

That last paragraph was explained in the second movie because Buster, the lead junkyard dogs that was supposedly close to Tramp or even taught him tricks to living on the street became legendary before finding them, said that he "left him" for Lady specifically. So it makes me think Tramp, as a young puppy, were taken in just on an impulse by owners who just adopted him because he was a mutt, or was left by his mother in some way (I found it kind of strange that since dogs have multiple offspring, but Lady nor Tramp ever mention having siblings unless it was the second movie, which Scamp, their son, had 3 sisters that were well involved in the movie) but the humans ended up having children, unable to take care of Tramp and he was abandoned at least by the time he turned a year or two old, was found by or admired the junkyard dogs (just like his son was) grew up into later adulthood with them and met Lady a little after, causing him to ditch the other dogs to live the fancy life with her and the puppies they had because he felt truly loved by another dog and giving up on human affection

@King Eugene @Dallas Gavin I use a different site to watch movies like "Jex Movies" that used to be called "Watch32hd." It's not the best quality and it skips a lot but can't complain because it's free and you don't need an account. But it has a lot of the newest movies. Might cause a virus if you use your phone though and they have. It may not be child friendly though unless you go straight to animation or family which is what I prefer and block the inappropriate ads. (And don't download anything!)

I always catch myself thinking the same thing as this when I watch the movie! It's so specific, what Tramp says about having a baby and how it changes a dog's life. That and how he focuses exclusively on the negatives always made me think he once lived in a family that abandoned him or started treating him badly after having a baby. I never thought about going so in-depth with defending or supporting my opinion, though: I just kept it as a headcanon.

Heather is a color of grey. So its more likely his paper name 'heather lad of glencairn" means "grey boy of glencairn" where glencairn is the Scottish breeder/kennel that Jack comes from.
    Love your tramp theory :)

um Darling could still be a nickname. my great grandmother was named Vina but when her son heard his dad call his mom Honey he thought that was his mom's name and he too started calling her Honey. and from that day on she went by Honey to all her closest friends and family

Only the really old dog (Sparky) and perhaps Ruby imply they know who Tramp is. The others (besides Buster) do not. He was not in their "gang". It also appears more that Buster was more of just a super devoted fan or casual friend of Tramp's (he clearly really looked up to him), especially since he didn't even know after leaving Tramp had children (Scamp).
Buster's relationship to Tramp would be similar to how Tramp was in relation to Peg, Toughy and the rest of the pound dogs, if not a little more closer. Everyone knew the Tramp, it didn't mean they were all best friends but they certainly lived by some sort of street code. Just a bunch of street dogs helping each other out here and there but still doing their own thing.
This theory still works even with the second movie in play.

Maybe Darling got the nickname from her family and it just stuck, and since she grew up and stayed in a small group with friends who knew her from childhood, they were used to calling her that too. Like Baby in Dirty Dancing- everyone called her Baby.

It might now be too politically incorrect, but nearly 30 years back my wife and I bought a Golden Retriever, eligible for AKC registration, and I actually wasted the money to do it. He was sired by "Voheses Sam" and born by "Vorheses Sally". We wanted to call him "Jeff", so his registered name was "Samson Jefferson Davis", which was available in the AKC registry at the time.
He was a great dog, and lived long enough to greet both my son and daughter into the world in '91 and '93, respectively. As with every dog I have ever had the pleasure of providing a "forever home" to, it was sad when he passed away, but he was well-loved and taken care of while he was with us.
And thanks for the new theory. Still waiting for a new season of Stranger Things and The OA!

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

Always good to see you! And I've been very pleasantly surprised that no one has negatively commented about my dogs being purebred over rescues! There are plenty of great dogs in pounds and rescues, but I hate when people get rabid about purebred dogs, as if we should obliterate hundreds to thousands of years of selective breeding. Sometimes, the best fit is when you know the size and behavior and exercise needs of your pet upfront. Plus, why blame the purebred dogs because strays are overpopulating? I just never understood that argument...
But, anyways, Jeff sounds adorable! I'm sad to hear that he's crossed the rainbow bridge. :(

I have a purebreed cat. He is a Ragdoll named Skywalker. He was very expensive, but I love him so much! I always wanted a Ragdoll for their temperament, unfortunately Skywalker fills very few of the normal Ragdoll traits. He is very shy, only lets me pet/hold him, He is usually on his, and he does no go limp. But I do not care. He is my precious baby boy and I love him!

The Fangirl i wonder if it’s because you got them through a responsible breeder and not some pet store, since pet stores often get their puppies from puppy mills unless it’s a place like petsmart or petco where they’re just housing the dogs for a shelter til they get adopted, which are sooooo different from good breeders who love and care about each of their dogs as much as the new owner dogs and just want to see a happy and healthy breed find a good home :) myself, personally, i’ve only ever adopted-purchasing from a breeder is so expensive and i’m a broke college student who demands Blue Buffalo or better for her current single pooch (so worth the money if you’re considering switching) and also like mass purchasing a million books at a time xD-but if i were to ever get a puppy i think i’d prefer from a breeder, just so i have a better idea of what i may be getting as an adult based on breed standards and parentage. Rambling aside, puppies got good homes from good sources, so it’s a win win regardless of whether your next corgi is a rescue or from a responsible breeder :)

There are sometimes purebred dogs who end up in an animal shelter. We got a purebred border collie named Lady from the shelter. (We didn't name her after Lady in the movie.) Her original owners moved away to a big city and couldn't take Lady with them. She's been in our home for over a decade.

Your theory is sad, but it does make sense. Even in Lady's home (which we have established is in a high class neighborhood and with owners who adore her) you will notice subtle changes that occur even BEFORE Darling's baby is born. From the time she was a puppy, Lady slept at the foot of her owners' bed....but when we see Jim Dear going out in the snow to get Darling watermelon, we see Lady has been moved from her comfy place on the bed to a bed downstairs. And up until she goes in to meet the baby, she IS overlooked by her humans. They even yell at her. Its only after she meets the new baby that she realizes she is still a part of their family. And then Aunt Sarah throws her out for being in the baby's room and sends Tramp to the pound for protecting him from the rat.
For the Tramp, he does seem to have a very cynical opinion of humans. He doesn't allow himself to get attached to them....except for maybe Tony and Joe who we see him interact twice with. And he especially doesn't seem to like babies. I think you are right in assuming the Tramp came from a poor family who had a baby and couldn't afford to keep him so they abandoned him. And then he fell in love with Lady so he made a new home with her.

We've only got the one baby. He's a 16 (almost 17) year old chihuaha from a shelter for abused animals. He's special needs because he's blind and had some fear agression problems, we mostly trained him out of those years ago when we first brought him home, but in his old age they're starting to come back. We love him too much to give him up for that though, and he has a very happy and spoiled life with us.

One pure-bred Border Terrier (who's a black and tan coloured) named Bonzo, a half Bermese male cat named Kato, and a half Siamese named Ella (she's completely black in colour). Both Ella and Kato are rescue cats so things like their ages and bloodlines are a bit of a mystery, though we do have rough guesses.

I 100% guarantee that Tramps description of changes in a household when a baby arrives was something he saw or experienced. It's not just how he describes the scenarios, it's also how he describes the baby. "They scratch, pinch, pull ears... Aw heck, but any dog could take that, right? No, it's what they do to your happy home is the trouble."
That doesn't sound like him telling a story he heard from another dog, that sounds like Tramp describing his experience up close with a baby.
I also like how Tramp defends the baby from a rat without question. He was happy to see the baby was okay. It's nice how Tramp intelligently doesn't blame or resent babies, but is still plainly aware of the threat they can be.

That’s a good obersvation about the baby and the rat! I think a dog’s natural instinct is to guard and protect, and that ultimately earned him a new home.

What was most interesting about him was that he never "bolted"; even as a puppy! He escaped immediately, after the first day I spent at school! But just sat at the top of our driveway and waited for me to come home until I came home said, "Einie?!" and he ran towards me with lots of licks and love! To the day he died he only bolted 4 times, and that's when my mom was screaming at him to come back (whom he loved but had *no* respect for, so didn't follow her commands and a lot of times not my dad's... but *always mine* ! I would not pet him after he bit me, but my mom cuddled him and went, "Ohhh such a good boy!!" and I'm like, "Thanks mom!" and she says, "I don't want him to be sad!" and me, "Oh, but it's ok that I get bitten?!" mom:-silence-
I made sure he both loved AND respected me. Like I loved and respected him.

What if Mrs Darling and Wendy's Mum are sisters ? One stayed in England while the other more adventurous went to America ? * thinking hat on * It looks like Peter takes places in 1900-1912 era while Lady seems to take place during 1890s- 1900s.
Maybe the Peter Pan Darling had the Peter stories more etched in her mind, so she stayed in England for him, while the other sister forgot about Peter and wanted to grow up, change and go somewhere new.

I love how your corgis are just so calm around Mr.Hen!!!! When you had other chickens, what breed/s did you have? From the videos you dshpwed of the others they appeared to be Rhode island reds or red stars/red sex links/cinnamon Queens? We have several hens who are still recovering from a dog attack 3 weeks ago. Our own dogs attacked them and we lost 4, and 2 have staples, a few others only have minor scrapes and lost feathers. One hen. Lost all of her tail feathers so she is abald butt right now!

You know, I fully agree with this theory. It's unfortunate, but there are people who will get rid of their dogs when the baby comes along. They spoil the dog and don't prepare him for the baby. So the dog gets jealous and does something to get him dumped.
Anyway, I'm glad Lady's family adopted Tramp and while I think he may have hung out with the junkyard dogs some, I think he was mostly a loner who just stayed where it was convenient for him, thus earning him his nickname "The Tramp."
Side note: Your pets are adorable, but on a personal note, I'd like to say that despite being a mutt, Tramp does have schnauzer in him. Other than Sweetie (a yippy yappy rat terrier who was given to us by my dad's coworker who pulled her from a negligent situation so I count her as a rescue,) all of my dogs were rescues, the first being Percy, a senior poodle and two of them were schnauzer mixes: Daisy, who we adopted around 1999 looked similar to Tramp in color but Benji (the one in my picture) who we adopted in 2013 after Sweetie passed away looks like him in build (though he's a bit bulkier because we spoil him rotten.)
Also, speaking of Benji, the rescue we adopted him from said that he came from similar circumstances. They told us that before they were able to take him in, he and another dog (presumably his brother) were left in a rabbit breeder's cage. Benji actually picked us because the day we got him, he put his paws on my lap and whined. I don't know who he belonged to before us, but whoever it was (possibly a man because despite being my dog, he really loves my dad) obviously had a reason to get rid of him so a young couple who had a baby causing him (and his brother) to get rambunctious could be a possibility.

    The chicken in so cuuuuuute!!!!!!
I once bought a chick and had it for like 1 or 2 weeks. One day when I came home from school I wanted to pee so I went to my bathroom (we usually keep a small pet like puppies or trend in the bathroom)we don't have a yard but an open space area. Long story short...the chick was starting to jump and flap everywhere (which was adorable TTwTT) as soon as I got home I went straight to the bathroom not knowing beasty (the chick) was in there. The moment I opened the door I will forever be saddened by the memory. The moment I opened the door I turned on the light I found beasty drowned in the toilet (for those with dark humor in a way it's like the universe's twisted sense of humor). I had a late reaction but at the same time I didn't know that was gonna happen until I realized it was. I scream called my mom starting to cry and run to the door. I was just weeping and sobing covering my eyes not wanting to see it but the image was already burned into my brain not letting me think of anything else. I avoided going to my bathroom for a week or so cuz even after that happened I could still see beasty there.
For the people that have a small defenseless living being please take extra care for them and check your surroundings if they're going to be left alone. Preferably not to be left alone but if it's needed have a set of "everything is dangerous" kinda mind to avoid accidents.

Your fur-babies are so cute. I like your theory too, it's entirely plausible. The only kink I see is that when Tramp is mocking the problems a baby brings he doesn't mention money or any kind of financial woes that could make a dog suffer. Other than that, pretty solid.

From what I can see in the video, your lovely little Bonbon seems to be a Californian Rabbit (also known as the California white). All your pets are adorable! I have 6 myself, 4 dogs and 2 cats. 2 of the dogs are pedigrees and 2 are mutts. 1 of the cats is a rescue and 1 of the dogs, our pedigree pug was abandoned with us when her last owner found out he couldn't breed her. And I understand completely about Pedigree names, examples I know, Lord Mackenzie Tiny Terror, Maribella Queen of something, I can't remember of what, Maribella's Delight, Porche Piglette (I'm not marketing that up) and Duchess Pixi of the Morn. Honestly nicknames are so much easier, we called Maribella's Delight Gizzy, Duchess Pixi, tends to be Pix of Piggy. I know my brother's dogs name is something like Empress Chelsea, also called Piggy a lot. Ones a Pug the others a Staffy, they snort a lot.

I hadn't seen the movie in so long I couldn't remember what I thought of it before, so I thought it was just one of those things that they don't outright say in movies, but it's so obvious that everyone basically knows it's true. But I guess not *shrug*

Seeing your corgis made me tear up... we just put our Einstein down mid-November. He was in massive pain from bad hips and knees and could barely stand on his own. We often had to put our feet next to his struggling back leg to give him something to push against in order to stand (because he *hated* being picked up his whole life. I was the only person I could pick him up when he was younger because I wouldn't fall for his "cries of agony"... when I wasn't even touching him. So he didn't yelp with me because he knew it wouldn't manipulate me into putting him down). He also coughed a LOT because of an inoperable growth in his throat (inoperable because he was 15 and would probably die under anesthesia). So, he got ice-cream with rainbow sprinkles on a brownie topped with chocolate sauce, and was put gently to rest on a warm, soft blanket and comfy cushion... and now I'm bawling...
I miss him dearly... RIP Einstein, November 2017.
