Since my "internet router and modem" are separate, should I plug the Meraki into my internet router and turn off my internet routers DHCP and use the Meraki DHCP?
From what I understand, you have an internet modem/router followed by your Meraki MX device. If that’s the case, you should set the modem/router to bridge mode. This will automatically disable the router and DHCP features on the internet device, making it a modem only. This is important because having two routers on the same network can cause a double NAT issue. Thanks.
Hi there, as far as I know, each device needs to have it's own license to work, if you have only 1 license for MX67 then only one MX67 can use it, thanks.
We are using Meraki routers and Switches at work but I'm not implicate on it as is more part of voice team. Still I have a Dashboard account and have access to them. BTW Did you re-certified?
Cool! Yeah they are so easy to work with and configure compared to regular Cisco hardware that you have to use the command line interface! Yeah I actually just got re-certified :-)
Does anyone know if Meraki works in China or if you need specific Chinese models to work in China? Can you still manage from dashboard.meraki.com? Or do you need to go to a separate dashboard for China? My experience with internet in China aside from the obvious great firewall is the sporadic connectivity to the internet outside of China. Some sites just refuse to load at all or will disconnect half way through a session like webbanking or government sites where you have to F5 refresh several times and when it finally loads, you have to login from scratch and fill out the forms again. It is super frustrating when you're trying to do something where you have to fill out forms on multiple pages... like some sort of an application (job, credit card, registration for class, etc.) I'm wondering if meraki dashboard still manages to work fine to remotely control equipment located in China , from outside of China?
Hi there, why we must use cisco meraki when we can use pfsense for more security and the secend things is licence is expensive for home user and small business ?? What do you think. Thnx
Meraki is expensive, and it's not meant for home networks. But on the other hand it's super easy to work with, you don't need to be a skilled network engineer to configure it and they have one of the best support teams that are available 24/7
I want to know can this router be connected to a primary and back up network at the same time. And how we can connect it to a meraki ms120 24p switch?( I just want to know port connections)
Hmm what a great point! I guess the same way maybe your entire gmail can be hacked by the Vendor (google) ?!! Never looked at it that way! I guess thanks!
Can you please make a video of network set up with internet and mpls link with MX devices. With few sites as hub and few as spoke, to show the flow of traffic, thank you
your video is cool, I have a question related to the cloud account attached to the serial. If I happen to sell the registered equipment or buy a used one, how do I solve the registration problem already done with the previous owner? Will he see my data? How to reset and create a new account? hug
Hi, Nice Video. I have a question not on the device but what exactly is there in the Meraki Cloud and how does the cloud part works when it receives a request to lets say to register a AP. Second, If you we talk for wireless for a moment, who monitors the RF parameters and adjusts that? is that centrally managed or individually per AP based? sorry, I am a little confused and would be great if you have help me to clear this doubt.
@@RichardSanchez137 I do understand, I am certified azure in fact. It’s been over 2 years since I left that comment so I don’t have the context of what I was replying to. What you just said is still applicable for in-house IT who manage things at scale for multiple locations.
very nice explanation. I bought two MX68CW-WW and want to be as redundant as possible, we have one Internet connected line and one LTE connection. I wonder if I have to put one connection to one MX and the LTE to the second MX, and how to cable these two appliances. can you explain this configuration in an video? 😀 this would be very nice. Thank you!
Thanks! Sure, I don't see any reason why not! The AP will need POE and Internet access and if the Cisco 3560 switch can provide that it should be alright! Thanks!
@@Behfor Thank you for quick response. I am trying to learn Meraki wireless operation which I think it should be easy. But I have to buy a used AP and then a license.
It's very easy compared to many other brands, they also have a very useful documentation website which can help, but as you said first you'll need an AP and a license! Good luck!
Totally could have done without the first 0:40 of nothing.
Have to agree
They're fine for small or medium sized businesses. Large corporations should stay away from them.

@@Behfor NO sir. I have ISP spectrum and my spectrum router in connected to the Spectrum Modem. I have not hooked my Meraki up yet, bc I was unsure
Can you also make a video on setting up VPN using meraki
I'll definitely keep that in mind and put it on the list! Thanks so much for the suggestion :-)
so 50 Clinets... hm
If i connect 51 Mobile Phones that thing is allready done yikes ._. my current FritzBox can do more
Nice video on Meraki. Please upload more. Subscribed.
Can the Meraki perform DNS forwarding?
This is so good video. I Subscribed
Thanks, glad you liked it 👍🏻
Hi Can we use non cisco devices with cisco meraki, ? please do reply
Yes, but you won't be able to control them on the Meraki Dashboard.
Hi Behfor, thank you for nice video. Is it possible to purchase 2 Meraki MX 67 with 1 license key?
Hi there, as far as I know, each device needs to have it's own license to work, if you have only 1 license for MX67 then only one MX67 can use it, thanks.
Hello, thanks for the video. What setting on the MX67 could cause Internet to be on and off repeatedly? From the ISP end, everything seems Ok.
Thanks for this informative video====Subscribed--- and forwarded this link to my friends =========

@@Behfor I used a Meraki MX64 on my home network for years and loved it. Now I am running a Netgate / pfSense and having good luck with that as well.
I just received my MX64W... but it did not come with a power cable... From what I read this is standard in Europe, wtf Meraki!
I subscribed also
I really appreciate that!

How do you obtain IP address is your ISP using PPPoE? Do you need to connect meraki to Router instead??
This is something that you can do in the local status page of the MX security Appliance. I'll actually cover this in my next video, thanks!
Which firewall is better for home use this one or better fortigate?
my mx64 not connected to dashboard .its not showing online on dashboard

So I need a licence just to use the device?
Yes
What does "Unclaimed " mean ?
Would you make video about policy
the demo is very good, can you please explain about the SD WAN and how to manage it in the dashboard? thanks
nice, do you have ay video on setting up the SDWAN with this?
The problem is, when you scale too big, it's cheaper to have someone manage the hardware than to pay Cisco reoccurring fees.
Good point :-)
You don't understand how cloud networking works. You can have 1 IT team manage multiple locations from 1 site.

Was wondering what benefit such a device would provide to a small business vs using a traditional router with built in firewall?
It is a unified threat management appliance (UTM). It offers features such as IDS / IPS not found in a traditional router.

hello.....how to connect one RB mikrotik, one cisco meraki MX60 and one switch?
How do I l know if the device is claimed or unclaimed. ?
You should feature Ubiquiti UniFi (competitor to Cisco Meraki) in your next episodes.
