Instead of crumbling under pressure in crunch games, they putting themselves in pressure situations and coming up triumph at the end.

The amount of disrespect South Africa gets is ridiculous. They’ve bowled incredibly for 18 of the 20 overs. Baartman is great at bowling yorkers normally, today wasn’t his day in that over specifically. But they all dominated the English with ball. And QDK’s performance in hindsight was incredible. Why aren’t any of the English top order getting criticised? But they’ll slate Baartman who’s been great in every over he’s bowled this tournament bar 1.

They played better in the first 10 overs of the second innings but then gave away in the last 10. England required 11 rpo with 4 down and still lost by just 7 runs. And baartman's over is a pretty good example of why they are criticising SA.

  • @mohitmukhi

The fact that SA has managed to stay unbeaten in a tournament where they could have potentially lost 4 of their 6 games speaks volumes! It doesn't matter how pretty the wins are as long as they win, case in point being Australia in 2023. Some really close games, but they pulled out the wins. Best teams don't always win tournaments, teams that win and peak at the right time do!

  • @tanujthakur3930

    • @pritambiswas1000
      @pritambiswas1000 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Don't know about England getting praised or not but SA definitely deserve the criticism they are getting.
If you beat Nepal by 1 run and allow USA to come very close to your target and have ZERO ICC trophies after playing for so many years then you deserve all the criticism, banter and deserve to be laughed at because you have been a laughing stock.
Simply winning is not enough when you have 3 contenders (SA, WI, ENG) vying for 2 semifinals spots from your group. You need to have at least one convincing win to boost up your NRR.
If SA lose against WI they'll be going back home from the super 8 stage even after winning 6 out of 6 overall and 2 out of 2 in the super 8 till now.
I wanted SA and WI to qualify from this group but SA’s performances have rubbed me the wrong way. They've frustrated me big time.

    • @pritambiswas1000
      @pritambiswas1000 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

It's not that good for them either.
They failed to punish/destroy USA and allowed them to come very close to their target and that might come back to haunt them because now after WI destroying USA their NRR is already better than that of SA and you can pretty much expect England to also destroy USA so their NRR will also be better than SA’s hence even after winning 6 out 6 matches till now and 2 out 2 matches in the super 8 stage they have another must win match against WI.
If SA lose against WI they'll be going home from the super 8 stage.
SA hasn't been convincing, not at all and their chances of qualifying for the semifinals is hanging by the thread.
SA need to win against WI or they'll need some assistance from the rain God to wash out either their match against WI or England’s match against USA because if all 3 teams end up on 4 points SA will be knocked out due to poor NRR.

Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughn are clowns?
My god, kids these days are delusional.
Brilliant analysis by both of them and I completely agree with them.
Baartman almost lost the match for his nation with those 5 full toss deliveries. He didn't even need to attempt to bowl a yorker because back of the length slow cutter type balls would have been ideal for that pitch.
Whenever Nortje gets hit he tries to bowl even faster instead of opting for the slower, cutter, pace-off deliveries and goes for even more runs in the process.
SA should have lost against Bangladesh and Nepal in the group stage and they allowed USA and England to come way too close to their target when they had both the teams comfortably on the backfoot.
They failed to punish the USA and that might come back to haunt them if they lose against WI because WI after thrashing USA now already have a better NRR than SA and you must expect England to also destroy USA so their NRR will also be better than that of SA.
A win is a win but in a group where 3 teams (SA, WI, ENG) are vying for 2 semifinals spots you need at least one convincing win to boost up your NRR to have a bit of a cushion.

You can believe what you want, doesn't change the fact that SA won the match.
People are constantly moving the goalposts. Fact remains, they were better than England on the day and they are unbeaten, no matter how much people dislike it.

@@papsphaks4408 dislike SA? For what? What have they achieved after playing Cricket for decades?
I was rooting for SA because I don't like England but SA has really frustrated me.
If you are so arrogant and cocky simply because they have been unbeaten then you are basically a blind fan and don't analyse the games in detail.
If you are proud of beating freaking Nepal by 1 run and want to boast about being unbeaten then I feel sad for you.
I wanted to see SA and WI go through to the semifinals from this group but now only one of them can go through and I want WI to qualify because they are the hosts and if they are in the semifinals the home support they'll get will be amazing which will create an electrifying atmosphere and I would love to see that.
Also WI has more chance of competing and beating Australia or India in the semifinal than this unconvincing SA team imo.
I think the OG chokers of Cricket will again choke against Australia or India in the semifinal if they manage to beat WI and qualify for the semifinal.
You can pretend and put up a brave face as much as you want but South Africa has been very lucky to remain unbeaten till now and their luck will eventually run out.
Gilchrist, Vaughn and I none of us anything against SA, we're simply stating what we are seeing and what we feel can happen.
The biggest chokers the biggest bottlers have to win a ICC trophy to convince people because at this point of time they deserve to be laughed at as they are a laughing stock.
ZERO ICC trophy so arrogance and cockiness from SA and their fans is hilarious.

Overs 15-17.2 were some of the worst death bowling I have seen. It was like watching a car crash in slow motion. Baartman’s over was maybe the single worst death over in a while. How can any bowler at any level bowl 5 full tosses on a pitch where the slower balls were perfect? Rabada and Nortje also bowled a couple of rubbish overs, bowling with pace on a pitch like that. Rabada started the 18th over with two full tosses as well, getting lucky with one being hit back to him and another getting caught when it should have been a six. They got very lucky. Brook and Livingston played really well. SA bowled well until those 3 overs from hell. Then Rabada seemed to wake up after getting Livingston and then Jansen bowled an excellent 19th over and Nortje did well other than one ball. Overall another rather unconvincing win. Eng top order really struggled, while SA batting struggled apart from QdK and Miller.
This group could get interesting if WI beat SA and all teams beat USA. Then it’s 3 teams fighting on NRR.
