Rohit Sharma destroyed the Aussies! Today was a good day!
That was pure demolition by Rohit. Like there is nothing else to describe it. I thought India should have got atleast 215-20 and they would have out batted Aus, but we saw it got harder to bat after the half way mark in both innings specially after 13th over.
I am so happy for Axar, he is finally getting that recognition he deserves. He is just a world class all-rounder. Kuldeep just made sure Not this time for Aussies.
I think fielding is one area where we need to improve. We took some spectacular catches today but there was some poor efforts as well. If you are an ICT fan, the last thing you want is a catch drop on a semi/final because you know that batsman is going to punish you. Great win

I think we need to give this team credit. I had felt through social media there was an over criticism of the team based on the past performances which was kind of understandable given the history. And that history kind of made us look at Aussies, English as invincible, almost got the feeling that fans thought of our team as a level below them. But they have gone about their business absolutely professionally. T20 it's the nature of the beast, anything can happen, but proud of the way they have played so far.
I saw Adam Gilchrist and I clicked. I am huge fan of you sir, from childhood to now. You were a master class player in the field, a dangerous batsmen for your opposition and played your game like a gentleman, I remeber that you never used to look at umpire for out decisionz if you know you are out you would just straight walk away. Part of Australia's world cup winning teams, and I remeber, you were the captain of Deccan Chargers and you played selfless cricketz like always and your team won season 2 under your captainship. Take some bold decision and replace dube by sanju and give gloves to sanju.
Today Pant's bad glove work could have done the game he gave 10 runs by byes and misifields. In close matches this could cause a big harm.
Sanju is a better fielder than pant so I doubt he will keep wickets even if he gets a chance to play
Both CSK memebers Dube and Jadega are the biggest weak links in this squad. I don't know what happened to Jadega. His bowling was reliable. But now with conditions favoring him he still isn't picking up wickets. Dube needs to go man. As a CSK this is what I was worried. Dude is a one trick pony. He just doesn't have technique. Hopefully Jaiswal / Samson are given a chance. I will probably even rest Jadega and see if Chahal can be brought in.
Jadeja has been waste in T20s from past 3 years. Only has been selected due to fielding.
The problem with giving Jaiswal/Samson a chance is both of them are top order batsmen in t20s and changing your batting order prior to a knockout could prove costly for the side
If Rinku Singh was available it would be an easy swap
Similar feeling for both, I will add Pant to that list. He never convinces as a T20 batter. Even in IPL he is not good compared to the available people on the bench

Rohit Sharma is the kind of batsman who'd defeat the bowlers mentally with the bat, any other team would've likely gone over 220 even with late assist
@krishnanandpremanand3581 India would have easily scored above 220, had SKY not got out, chasing a wide delivery. Aus got lucky to get him dismissed that way. Shivam Dubey was always a wrong selection. Rinku should be playing in this team. We all know, Dubey's bowling is also useless.

@krishnanandpremanand3581 Jaiswal can't be in the reserves, as he is the 3rd opener and Chahal is likely the substitute of Kuldeep. Dubey isn't bowling and therefore as a no. 5 batter he is taking Rinku's place in the team. I don't even understand his selection as this spin basher, as today he struggled vs Zampa, as well. And other teams are smart enough to not bowl spinners to him, with his pathetic technique vs pace and bouncers. I didn't watch other matches, so I don't know if he scored runs there, but against top teams, he looks average.

Kuldeep himself wasn't playing the matches in the USA and he's the strike spinner for India so I don't see him getting replaced without an injury
Dube did well against Bangladesh and flopped the rest, he hit one 6 against Noor before getting out to Rashid Khan the next over against Afghanistan
So he pretty much failed as a spin killer this season

Axar Patel 2 overs is key….he gave only 7 runs…he just cut the flow of runs…it put pressure on maxwell -head. But Kuldeep got wicket because of Axar…we always don’t give credit to actual one…that’s not correct….it’s my opinion
I agree that Axar did great! He was better than Jadeja and exceptional at keeping Travis in check. However, Kuldeep has been consistently improving his game. You cannot say that it's only because of someone else that he got the wickets. It's because batters are unable to read his bowling. He has some skills!
This is the problem with only looking at scores, the field placement to Maxwell was to prevent him from getting boundaries from playing the sweep or reverse sweep so neither Kuldeep Or Axar Patel gave boundaries to him and he stepped out to Kuldeep Yadav
Indian bowling is saving the batting failures. Even this match if not Rohit's innings- Indian batting was a shame. Shivam Dube cannot be a finisher along with Hardik. We miss Rinku badly but no one speaks about this truth. Hope they wont realise this mistake in knockouts

Axar and Arshadeep bowled well after the 12th over keeping it tight,and when Bumrah got Head's wicket India were in the driver's seat. Wade can also be dangerous but they got him out quickly. Cummins and Starc can both bat.They bowled tightly to them.
Sorry to say this, but every time "revenge", "payback", "old wounds" are mentioned after any win following a literal trophy-losing match, it makes the discourse very pedestrian. It's an extremely trivial way of approaching any kind of analysis. NO, ANY WIN ANY DAY LATER THAN A LOSS DOESN'T "COVER" FOR THE PREVIOUS LOSS. The lost match is still lost. You just need to win your next match. It's as simple. A win in 2023 simply couldn't have covered for the loss of 2003. There was nothing to cover. Why keep living in the past? Extremely disappointed to see this kind of discussion in broadcast as well as here.
Disagreeing a little with the comment. A win in the final can be called payback for a previous loss in the final against the same opposition, but defeating the same in a bilateral series or in the group stage doesn't even compare. Australia can still qualify and meet India in the final if Afghanistan loses to Bangladesh. What would we call it if India loses the final again?
It's immature on the part of fans to act like this and even more immature on the part of platforms like cricbuzz to propagate these ideas just for more views. It paints the Indian cricket community as immature and toxic.
The proper revenge for the 2023 ODI WC final loss against the Aussies will be if in future India beat them in a ODI WC final held at the MCG and silencing their crowd.
The payback, revenge against the Aussies for the 2003 ODI WC final loss will be complete if India beat them in South Africa or in any other neutral venue/country.
I never considered this match as the medium of taking revenge against Australia for what happened on 19th November, 2023.

ZK says fielding was good! What BS! Of course we hung on those some catches, but at the same time, we were sloppy too! We gave away 2 lives to Mitch Marsh, and then at the end Jadeja dropping a sitter in the last over. ZK is not very accurate on most things other than his bowling on the field. India has a good chance of winning the world cup. Proud of how the US performed, getting into the super 8 after beating pakistan and competing hard against india. The games against west indies and england were one sided but the west indies did not qualify for the semi-finals. We saw the punishment hardik's and jadeja's bowling took today.Also mitchell starc and even bumrah in the first two overs. Kohli made 0, and most of the batsmen on both sides made 10 or 15 runs at most. The difference was rohit and head with the batting. Hazelwood's bowling was the stand out. Kuldeep, Axar, Arshadeep, Hardik, Bumrah and Jadeja had 205 runs to defend, which was a lot.
Overall, very proud of Team USA for punching way above it's weight in this competition,entering the super 8,beating pakistan, and being competitive against india and SA.
Gilly's commentary is brilliant.He was a class and brilliant batsman,under pressure, winning world cups for his team rather than chasing centuries and records. His 1999 world cup performance was magnificent, also his batting in india in the 2004 tests. The hundred against pakistan in 1999 when oz was almost knocked out was unbelievable. He chased down 350 plus with langer who was lucky to benefit from a terrible umpiring decision.

The India Oz game was very competitive till the 12th over in oz's innings. If head and marsh had been able to keep their onslaught going for 3 more overs the result could have been very different. Rohit made a series of 100s in the 2019 world cup in the early matches. Today he batted brilliantly, helped though by starc struggling in his first 2 overs.Maybe he tried to find some early swing. Hazelwood was possibly the stand out bowler in the competition.Zampa also bowled well. Surya made a useful contribution and later Hardik, in India's innings. Arshadeep and Bumrah were both unlucky. The former dropped a catch.Bumrah almost had an early wicket. Pant looked a bit sluggish behind the stumps but it was not costly.Hardik struggled with his bowling getting smashed around. Jadeja also had no answer to Maxwell. Kuldeep was lucky to get Marsh(but the latter had two lives) with a full toss.Axar's catch was brilliant.He gave away a 4 just as easily later. Jadeja,who had a bad day bowling and fielding, dropped a sitter but it was not costly. Kuldeep took a great catch and bowled Maxwell with a beauty. Head batted brilliantly but he has gotten into the heads of the Indians. He kept stepping away and they should have had a strategy against him by now.They fed him loose deliveries in his hitting arc. But 205 runs was a lot even for head. Overall India were the better team and deserved to win.
Rohit is good.He may yet have the opportunity to end up an all time indian great like dhoni and yuvraj. A world cup makes all the difference.
