'no ticky no laundry' 'bruce lee and the karate kids' 'im the guy who does his job-u must be the other guy' and 2 finish with Baldwin going apeshit and calling him a stupid fuckin hardon. what a classic scene!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in this scene....one of the shotgun wielding guys in the rafters hahaha. So much fun. Remember when the Hasidic dudes cranked up the lights so they couldn't film? Longest night of my life haha.
If I were a cop, i'd wonder if the camera guy was a mole or something. There just happens to be a blind spot where the deal was done, they didn't have a camera in the back so they couldn't film them leaving on the boats.
This was uploaded on my 17th birthday. I remember the technological dark ages. riping a DVD and then dropping its quality to make it super small, encoding it to the right codecs for whatever player you used. Im glad its the future now.
Thanks for giving us an UNEDITED scene, Lyman!! Gives the movie it's true meaning and substance. lololol One of the BEST SCENES in The Departed! Good show.
It's a testament to Nicholson's skill as an actor that he can make really cringe lines like "no ticky no laundry" or "Bruce Lee and the karate kids" sound viable.
@@mavinaxi4240 The translator is needed to keep the Chinese honest. Since the Americans definitely didn’t speak or understood Chinese. @Fondrom I thought he was the one who set up the cameras in the first place considering that he only had two hours notice and that he didn't have a camera in the back. Plus, he took offence when Dignam complained about the placement of cameras.
🤣🤣🤣🤣its funny because theres so much going on between both sides exchanging information like a complex game of chess and it builds up and alec baldwin just gets so mad and takes it out on the poor camera guy lmfao

After Baldwins Rust terrible tragedy with what we all know about now I thought of this scene & how what you see when he grabs and starts roughing up this actor well I bet there wasn't much acting if any involved on Baldwins part????
They hoped the Chinese would enter them with the chips so they could get pulled over and searched for the chips. Unfortunately for them, they take a boat ride
+ihatelameusernames Frank knew because Matt Damon's character informed him he's being watched ahead of time. If you rewatch the scene where the blind spot is mentioned, the camera changes to damn's reaction, which shows that he knows something. Still, their intent was to steal US weapons technology, so you can bet they probably went to prison for conspiracy at the very least
Alec Baldwin really doesn't like the people that handle the cameras.
OOOF 😅

Scorsese's direction to Alec Baldwin for the end of that clip:
"Just treat him like a paparazzi."

I doubt that outburst was even in the script ;)
Guns don't kill people, Alec Baldwin does.
"Juat treat him like the cinematographer"
All the actors deserve credit in this movie. It was done really well.
They received credit.
"Bruce Lee and the Karate kids", lol Frank always cracked me up.

Love this scene, can not believe the words coming out of Laughing Jack's mouth, Good Lord. (The actors with non speaking parts are totally stoked).
Too much awsomeness at once in one movie
It's a testament to Nicholson's skill as an actor that he can make really cringe lines like "no ticky no laundry" or "Bruce Lee and the karate kids" sound viable.
Absolutely. No way in hell a translator would say word for word what Costello says if he doesn't want to die.
He understood the message, the deal went through. That wasn't the noteworthy aspect of the scene
And I bet the Chinese understood more English than they were letting on.
The translator was there more for the Americans sake.
