However I was worried about the same crossfire that eventually got Fil and Drummer, so I went with my plan B (which was your plan A). Blow the main doors and fight from the threshold. With tons of HE. Once I was reasonably confident we'd thinned the opfor out I went for a breach on the more southerly room rather than northerly one, since it has less one less potential open breach for the enemy to fight across the courtyard from.
I did the front doors too; blew the doors open and after the initial firefight, just started lobbing grenades all over the place and blowing up rooms before I went into them.
This is one of the reasons I love this game: it can be very unforgiving. Sometimes you can be highly aggressive and have no problems, other times you charge into a hallway and six guys light you up immediately. Devs are highly responsive as well. I made a suggestion based on my own misunderstanding of things, and now there's a change on the main menu.
This level was more stressful than my german exam. Especially those moments where they’re getting shot and look around like noobies not knowing what to do. We need them to have higher levels.

It might be interesting to play through all the campaigns and levels again from the beginning since all your characters got reset. Would make for some interesting new videos to see you going through all the missions again with some of the new weapons and AI logic as you increase your characters skill and exp levels.

Played this one last night. I actually blew open the main door, took the stand off, and let them come to me. The minute they stopped flowing towards me, I took out the windows with flash bangs and sent frags in after through the windows. I don't have the same sense of tactics you do, but I was able to hold down the hallway across from the main door and the southern doors with 2 guys and do a two man clear of the north area to the hallway. I repeated the tactic at the southern end, pulling one guy over from the north to assist. Went pretty smoothly. I also assumed no civies and went absolutely bananas with the frags.
FYI: KHG pumped up the critical chance (one shot) to max 10 and min 5. I don't know if this is percent or per bullet but its the same value as the Foreign Advisors critical chance. And because squads got reset everybody's a noob now.
I am not a 100% sure, but i think the new level iv plates are bugged and give much less protection than shown in the menu. I had multiple times where my guyes were mowed down like 2 at 9:05.
It's not bugged. I've messed around in the equipment code. If a bullet hits an operator, first the round is checked against the coverage of the armor based on impact location, front back or sides. If the armor succeeds, the bullet is checked against the armor's piercing capability. If the round is stronger than the armor or if the armor fails the protection check, the operator takes the full damage from the round, and an operator can only take 1-3 bullets depending on the weapon. With the Full ESAPI plates worn here, there is a 60% chance the protection check fails from the front and back, and a 70% chance it fails from the sides, but when it does succeed it won't be pierced by any round in the game. Forty percent not to get hurt isn't good.
This is why I really like shotgun or the scar for situations like this. The TTK on the mk18 is just way too high and gives the enemy a lot of time to shoot back. Scar and shotgun are always 1 or 2 taps pretty much and give the enemy essentially no time to react as they're already dead.
I think it might be a good idea to use one of those XP farm levels from the workshop to train up your guys… I get why they reset the levels for the update, but when they no longer fit your play style because they’re noobs again, it might be a problem 😅
I just entered through the maingate and waited for a couple seconds, until all willing enemies ran out the doors and got killed. It's possible to cover all dangerous doors and windows with just 4 persons, luckily.
I had them breach and bang the main entrance and pushed in the full squad split with two on each side, each door was watched, didn't encounter much resistance in the main room so I held the doors for a bit and let them come to my squad's angles. Eventually I pushed two men into the West corridor towards the L sofa room while watching each side on the way to the door. Fortunately the enemy that were left were inside the big room so when i breached and banged and took them out that was it. (Sorry if this is hard to read, I'm familiar with clearing methods and such but not most police/military terms to describe certain actions and holding patterns). I named my CIA squad Scalpel and they live up to that name beautifully.
I agree with you about the leveling. I think I'd built my guys up a bit before doing this one. Used 2 assaulters and 2 grenadiers. Went through the doors with a wallshot, fought from the walls that protrude beyond the entrance. Fragging as I opened up the angle, then put smoke deep to move beyond the threshold. Breaching the wall as you did is the better option, you just got screwed.
My run, I went with an MG on the main gate constantly firing down the lane to the locked door across as the other 3 worked their way to the sides (pushed towards the bottom of the map whilst the 3rd man covered their flank towards the top). By the time I cleared the bottom areas sweeping from the right to the left, I'd killed everyone on the map with either the machine gun or the 2 conducting the sweep.

Ok, I have not watched the video yet, it’s on pause. But I played this yesterday.. blast a hole through the wall at the bottom and lobbed in an HE. Setup a gunner with visibility all the way down that lower part.. then worked my other two through the central part, wrapping around the top. Then I moved up my lower fire team in and pincered the back rooms.. Let’s see how mine adds up against yours.. unpause!!
I started doing something recently, create a random map with one building and an outside with maximum enemies. Then go to editor, give yourself two armoured cars with 6 people each, then put a suicide bomber in every room, some civilian hostages and edit the AI so they do specific things, like blind fire or ambush or hold.
I would definitely say that there is some false advertising on the lv4 plates there’s many situations where the heavy duty level 3 has saved my assaulters where lv4 got them killed less protection but more coverage just seems to work out better
As a doornkickers veteran, I always laugh when I see people not take advantage of the AI. I got 3 stars in all levels and probably record time for a majority of them
Okay-- just noticed CP's 11B series operators (aka 18X series) are low ranks. I'm not sure why this is, as majority of my operators are senior NCOs in-game. Care to elaborate?
Glad to see you release more DK2 stuff. You got me hooked on this game and it's interesting to see what you do in these scenarios. You should try, the user map Big City Big Troubles, I'm admittedly not that great at this game and this mission keeps stomping my ass.

I really like how Door Kickers 2 has a decent amount of map variety in terms of sizes, but there's just something so fun about these small maps.

Critical chance is always per hit that is not stopped by armor. If the hit misses the armor (hits an unprotected area) the crit chance is reduced.
