Sonnet, I love your Good-Bad-Ami videos. And I'm so happy you chose Pica Pau. I've had my mind on volume 1 for ages, and you just might have nudged me in that direction. I agree with the legs - I tried once to add them from the top down, but I hated it. So, I always start from the feet up and join the two legs at the top and continue up the body. It means having to work backwards from the pattern, but it's not hard. I also learned how to do the invisible join for color changes, and I no longer have the jags from one row to the next. All that to say, I think I'm ready for Pica Pau. Now I just have to figure out which one to start with!
I have 3 of the Pica Pau amigurumi books and have made several. You reminded me of the difficulty i had crocheting the second leg on the bear. Ugh. Jan Schenkel is a wonderful amigurumi designer and i love her books so much. 😊

Good video, I enjoy this series. I know this is an unpopular opinion but, as much as I appreciate her artistry and talent, these designs don't resonate with me. I did get this book with some others in a lot, maybe will make one of the amis to see if I am wrong. Thank you for being honest but kind in your reviews!
As someone who made 5 jellyfish prior to moving on to anything else I feel personally attacked 😂. I need to get this book though I think, I wasn't sure about the aesthetic because most folks just show the frog and it's not my thing. That wolf though, so cute.

Yes! So I love berroco vintage! Especially for the pica pau characters. I think the colors, and the halo it gives, make for really darling and almost “vintage” looking toys. However, due to the price of a single hank, I really only use Berroco vintage for my Pica Pau friends or any super special project. 😊 Another draw back is I find it splits an awful lot for me, which can be a bit frustrating!

I am a slow crocheter, and my colle tion of patterns I wanna do is SOOO LONG!!!!!!😆 One book I have, and never seen nobody make something of, nor review is: Amigurumi Style Crochet, by Cara Medus., published in 2020 by Pen & Swird White Owl Edition. Patterns are in UK Terms. It's style is so unique with retro style dressed dolls, and theirs animals, accessories, etc. I didnt anything if this one also.
