I rented one of these Dodge Challenger Scat Packs this weekend. Drove it from Irvine to Las Vegas and back. What an awesome weekend! Vegas sucks, but the drive in the Dodge there and back was what it was all about. Love this car 😎👍🏼 I moved from South Africa to New Zealand so can’t get one there because of the left hand drive. So this was the perfect time and place to enjoy it on my USA business trip 🇺🇸
It isn’t about how dark on the back windows as they can be as dark as you want, it is the front passenger and driver windows that can’t have tint, at least not dark tint for the reasons the officer stated. We didn’t have limo tint on the front but 30% and the Santee Sheriff still pulled us over. Only had the fronts removed, signed off by them and paid the $25 fine and moved on.
Like the video always been a Chevy person bought my 1st Dodge in the November 2019 ram rebel .love it and am dodge all the way now.pre ordered a widebody scat pack 3 weeks ago and it's already getting delivered next Friday. love these cars and only bought the scat pack because the hellcat honestly I won't use all that power it's nothing about money plus I think old school muscle cars should stay naturally aspirated like they were back in the day
I'm a Chevy guy also. Had Camaros Corvettes Chevy trucks Impala SS. All Chevys. When wife and I went looking for a muscle car. The challenger was the best out of all the pony cars. We love our 2020 Scatpack Challenger.
Powerstop Extreme street (Carbon Ceramic PADS) 65 to 70 bucks per wheel plus they cut way down on the brake dust and there’re not as hard on your rotors as the Brembo metallic pads and you can’t tell any real difference in the stopping
I do my own oil changes in my 6.4 Challenger, The Mopar oil filter is bout $7 at Dodge, the Pennzoil 0-40 weight natural gas oil is about $7-8 a quart X's 7. Total cost about $65. Change mine ever 5000 miles. Rotate your tires and they'll wear evenly, I go over to Discount Tire and they rotate them for free.
I had the same issue with Apple Carplay and the USB ports in the center console on my 2017 Scatpack Challenger. If you pull the fuse from the trunk that corresponds to the ports and place back in it resolves the issue. I have since had to replace the Uconnect unit under warranty and havent had that issue come up again.
As a Mercedes-Benz technician, really loved you blowing that old myth out of the water with experience that German cars are the most reliable things on the planet. Friends/family/strangers ask me all the time about whether or not they should buy a Mercedes - I tell them they look great and are super nice when they work, but there's a reason I don't drive one... Not that I'd ever knock someone for owning one, but man it's just plain wrong hearing about how American cars are trash compared to the German rivals.
Josh B so true! I’ve owned a lot of Mercedes and bmw’s and just thought I had horrible luck because they were always in the shop and cost a fortune to fix. Several of them ended up in the shop within months of buying it. My dodge has 20k miles on it and has yet to have a single issue. 👍🏼
@@ocmotivator Yup, I can truly say I see at least one Benz a day with fewer than 10,000 miles on it with a major issue. It's almost always a warranty repair, but the fact is cars that new shouldn't have major issues like that in the first place. Oh well. Keeps me in a job so I can't truly complain!

A lady works at a convenience store down the street from me and drives an older Dodge Charger with a V-6. She currently has 200,000 miles on the car with only some minor issues happening now due to it's age and mileage, like the steering. I happened to ask her because I too was thinking about going to a Charger. I wanted a Mustang GT, however, I won't buy one because they put plastic oil pans and transmission pans on them.

A bit late~ but the reason people give each other crap about getting a car wash done is mostly because often the automatic car wash carries all the dirt, sand, and oily grime from every car that went before you. And even if you get it washed by hand by semi-professionals, the equipment they use (rags, towels, brushes, sprays etc.) is usually low quality or they have re used it over and over again carrying all the dirt, sand, grime from every car. They don't care if your car is cool or not, they're getting paid minimum wage (or a maybe a bit higher who knows) to wash cars all day. They don't care about the long term damage they're doing. Also a quick edit: Loved the vid!
Phil excellent points! Didn’t consider that. I love washing my cars myself but get lazy sometimes. I may need to get back on that horse while my paint still looks good. 👍🏼

I switch out the pads on my 2017 Challenger SRT 392 myself. Ceramic Pad we're less than $100.00 from O'Reilly's. I got them because the factory pads produced too much brake dust. They easy to switch out. Now, when it come time to switch out the rotor, that's probably going to be pretty expensive.
My BIGGEST expense in this thing is GAS!! Man, does this thing eat gas... without that heavy a foot, I barely get 13MPG city. But, I gotta say, even though you have to shell-out $$ for premium -- it's worth it!
Well I didn't learn anything but the good points in this video that others may not know is, don't buy a range rover or any British car really, don't buy a Merc or most German cars, and stick with naturally aspired engines because wow $10k for a new supercharger lol.
You helped me make my choice on what to save up for, I’m almost at 16k saved up and I was going to get an RT, But my mom likes to go on road trips and sometimes pack the car up, so this swung me to get a scat pack especially for her southern cali
Fantastic car! I've been in the market now for a few months and finally found the one I want. Before I pull the trigger I was curious what your feelings were on the gas milage. Being that you drive your Challenger as a daily driver I was hoping you could tell me what kind of MPG you're getting. I know people are going to say, "you don't buy a Challenger for the gas milage", but I still want to know how many times a week I'll be looking for a gas station. Thanks.
So I’m averaging about 14mpg. I know I’ve seen people who get better. When I’m on the freeway and use the adaptive cruise control it’s much better of course which tells me that my foot is the problem. The power in that 486hp motor is irresistible so every time I’m first position at a light I stomp on it, or getting on the freeway or pulling out of the garage..lol. It has that feature that will drop the motor down to 4cyl to save gas on the freeway too. I guess it’s all about discipline. And I apparently have none. Sooo. Since I drive a lot, I’m at the gas station at least twice a week. I originally bought this as a weekend driver only and drove my bmw 740 as my daily driver and that thing gets amazing gas mileage in comparison but it’s just not as much fun to drive. In the end, it’s worth it to have all that power on tap anytime in that Hemi. You’ll love the car!
I am a big Toyota fan and beleive their cars are most reliable but I agree with you that the American cars should be much more reliable than the complex German luxury cars.
Ouch $600 ,and that's for pads only,Cause I know it runs alot more with brakes and rotors with the big brembos. If ya slap them in urself you'll be in the $100-$140 range ,
1st LOOK AT CAR WASH N KNEW IT WAS SD...I USE TO LIVE IN CHULA VISTA N GO TO CAR WASH DOWN STREET FROM CV MALL..LIVE IN LA NOW N HATE IT..TO MUCH TRAFFIC N CRAZY DRIVERS...PLANNING TO MOVE TO HENDERSON,NV SOON...💯💯💯
Yes! I’m having that itch now but I love my black car. It’s so perfect. I keep kicking around getting a Charger Hellcat when my BMW lease is up at the end of this year so I’ll still have a 4 door family car. Just with 707 Horsepower! Lol.
Ronald Satchell bite your tongue! Lol No minivan. My wife and I included a “no mini van” clause in our wedding vows. But you’re right a hellcat charger may be much for a family car.
@@ocmotivator no need for a Caravan or a Pacifica. This is why they have the Durango. I think if you're gonna get a Hellcat, go with the 4-door...get the Charger.
John Lovelace hey thanks for taking the time to crap on my video! You’re what makes youtube great. No wonder you have no content and only 2 subs. Lmao! Troll

Kevin Oliva I have a 2018 Scat, bought 7 qts Of Mobil 1 0 - 40 Synthetic and filter for 40 bucks at Walmart! My auto repair shop changed my oil for $20 .... total cost $60! 😎
@@kevinoliva8726 That's because it's synthetic oil so you can go double compared to a normal oil change at 2-3k miles when you're on synthetic you can go 6-7k. For my car it's $80 for just the oil change and $20 for tire rotations (which you need to do)
Deejay Gary depends on how many miles you have to drive. The car is comfortable but the gas mileage is bad. I was averaging 11-13mpg because it’s just hard to drive the car gently. I tried to daily drive but with gas prices so high I was dropping $75-80 day with my long daily driving. Not to even mention the $600 brakes and $250 for each tire. If you don’t mind the expense then I’d say yes it can be a daily driver.
Already got the note. California doesn’t have a legal exception though but it helps with some cops to get let out of the ticket and if it doesn’t then some judges will take it. 👍🏼👍🏼
Vidal Campos first year with the scat pack and cost of ownership. Hmm. Sounds exactly like what I talked about. It wasn’t about what I paid for the car. Never even eluded to that in my title. I love how TH-cam has such critics that think they have to talk trash every chance they get. How about if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all and go work on your own perfect content.
Yep. Technically 3 since I just had it done again. This is from the dodge website: Every 6 Months: Change the oil. The old "every 3,000 miles" rule in terms of changing oil is out the window with newer car models. The Challenger's oil should be changed every 6 months, or every 8,000 miles - whichever comes first.
Andrew um no. Not rich at all. And can’t afford the hellcat because I have a 7 series, a 13 year old daughter and a wife, 3 cats, a dog, two turtles, one rabbit, and somehow we adopted as damn raccoon that I have to feed. But once that 7 series is gone the hellcat is coming so stay tuned!

Texas Owl now that is a ridiculous assumption. I have some cheap cars. Big deal. Google me. You’ll see rapidly this is far from the case. But I am definitely enjoying my life without sacrificing incredibly solid financial stability along with accumulation of solid financial assets. Maybe that’ll be my next video just for you. I just don’t want to ever be that guy who brags on TH-cam. Don’t be so sort sighted and draw such conclusions based on a short video about cars. Jeez
Broo u do what u do if u can afford it o well do it people are gonna hate because they can't is simple if i had the money to do that I'm i will lol thats a bad ass scat pack btw
Steve Cornejo 🤦🏼♂️making payments means you can’t afford it. Financing is just you renting to own. The title isn’t yours, and it goes down in value while you pay the original purchase price plus interest. You must not know much.... especially since you spell you, u.
Texas Owl now that is even more ridiculous. I wish I could screenshot and post images. Let me teach you something that can help you as well as maybe stop your judgmental attacks. 1. With my credit I don’t pay more thank 2.9% interest on financing. My leases are business expenses and much needed tax write offs. I average in the bad times right now 3.83% return on my invested cash and as high as 9.71% in good times which is higher than 2.9% so my cash is making me money. I make another 25-100% return on any cash I invest in flipping/investing real estate after my carrying costs depending on the opportunity. My regular job pays me a large amount on top of everything else I do making these cars a relatively small but fun expense. I carry virtually zero credit card debt. I do all of this stuff to make money for 3 reasons =my family, our future, and because I frigging LOVE cars. I refuse to compromise on any of those. Now I haven’t bought the Ferrari or Exotic because I do have some guilt about spending that much free flowing investable cash that I could use to make me money. But these other cars are as easy as sign and drive and they bring me some well deserved joy. And I don’t judge anyone for responsibly spending their money they work hard for on something they love. And I run with some pretty incredibly wealthy people and every single one of them finance or lease their cars since it’s so cheap to borrow someone else’s money vs stop theirs from making money for them. Your assumption that I am leveraged is baseless and wrought out of some childish TH-cam trolling jealousy rather than finding happiness in other people’s joy and success. To throw rocks and pass judgement with no more info than a 10 min video is simply small minded and petty. Head my advice and anytime you can borrow money for your car at 3% or less or receive a massive tax write off while letting your cash go out and bring back a much higher return then do it! Oh and the dodge and TH-cam are my experiment on how a hobby can almost pay for itself since I’m also making money from this channel that offsets any other costs related to that car. Best wishes and good luck with your bad financial advice out there.

my usb went out as well. took it to the dealer and they replaced it. :) I think that's a normal for challengers.
You jibber jabber about everything except the topic. Do better
AGREED!
You helped me make my choice on what to save up for,
I’m almost at 16k saved up and I was going to get an RT,
But my mom likes to go on road trips and sometimes pack the car up, so this swung me to get a scat pack especially for her southern cali
Awesome!!!!
The car hasn’t broken once. Except that one time it broke....lol
Matt Zaller i just bought one last week, i average about 17 mpg, that thing drinks gas!!!, i drive normal speeds, its all about smiles per gallon😎
john l love that! Smiles per gallon!
@@ocmotivator my dodge avenger gets 15 to 17 mpg..... it's time for the scat pack !
@@ocmotivator dude I average 15.5mpg in a V6 mustang 2014
I’m planning on getting a scat pack this summer🙈
How's has the skat pack treated you?
I am a big Toyota fan and beleive their cars are most reliable but I agree with you that the American cars should be much more reliable than the complex German luxury cars.
Unless your rotors are shot, the brake pads are cheap, and I'm sure ur rotors are fine
Frankie 072 that’s good to know. The dealer told me I needed front brakes and it’s $600.
Ouch $600 ,and that's for pads only,Cause I know it runs alot more with brakes and rotors with the big brembos. If ya slap them in urself you'll be in the $100-$140 range ,
Granite is the way to go for a darker color. Way too many black cars.
Hellraisin with limo tint....🤔🤔
How often do you have to refuel per week and how many miles driven on the daily basis?
great video quality. what kind of camera are you using? also watched a video of yours that helped me make my decision on my next purchase.
RichEvolutionCo thanks! And I was shooting with my Canon M50 with the 11-22 lens in HD 30fps.
Great video. I have a 392 scat pack shaker and was curious.
Perfect tint my man !!
Thanks!
Great video... 👍🏾👍🏾.
Why do cops need to be able to see inside your car?
So they dont get shot
Please pick me for the Neverland Hat .😃👍✌️✌️✌️
Would u every go to the Hellcat???
Yes! I’m having that itch now but I love my black car. It’s so perfect. I keep kicking around getting a Charger Hellcat when my BMW lease is up at the end of this year so I’ll still have a 4 door family car. Just with 707 Horsepower! Lol.
I feel that ... but u should get a Hellcat challenger & a Minivan fa the family or every day car ...😅🤷🏾♂️
Ronald Satchell bite your tongue! Lol No minivan. My wife and I included a “no mini van” clause in our wedding vows. But you’re right a hellcat charger may be much for a family car.
OCMotivator 😂😂😂😂💯💯
@@ocmotivator no need for a Caravan or a Pacifica. This is why they have the Durango. I think if you're gonna get a Hellcat, go with the 4-door...get the Charger.
Mopar or No Car 😍
So first 6 and a half minutes is about washing your car and window tint...is that considered part of cost of ownership?
John Lovelace hey thanks for taking the time to crap on my video! You’re what makes youtube great. No wonder you have no content and only 2 subs. Lmao! Troll
John Lovelace let me guess... you’re that guy that watches sports, doesn’t play, and tells them what they’re doing wrong. 😂😂😂😂
OCMotivator I’m not a content creator. Bit annoying to see the title then have to wait half way through the video to get to the relevant content. You could at least put when the cost of ownership part of the video starts. Simple as that
John Lovelace annoying to have someone who doesn’t have the guts to create a single video criticize mine. Don’t watch and don’t subscribe. I have plenty of people who enjoy my channel. Sorry to take up your time as I know you have to go comment and criticize lots of other channels. Only so much time in the day right? 😂

Beautiful!!!
Have you gotten the notorious "service active dampening system" message yet?
John Patriot no not yet. 🙏🏻
Wait for the oil change he paid 150$$??
Kevin Oliva honestly I don’t even remember what they charged me. Might have been $100. But it was way less than by bmw at $350
OCMotivator holy crap bro 😂I should of did my research before buying a scat pack 🤣but it’s worth it
Kevin Oliva I have a 2018 Scat, bought 7 qts Of Mobil 1 0 - 40 Synthetic and filter for 40 bucks at Walmart! My auto repair shop changed my oil for $20 .... total cost $60! 😎
Kevin Oliva again. I have no clue what I paid. It was nothing compared to the bmw is the point.
@@kevinoliva8726 That's because it's synthetic oil so you can go double compared to a normal oil change at 2-3k miles when you're on synthetic you can go 6-7k. For my car it's $80 for just the oil change and $20 for tire rotations (which you need to do)
Leave it alone. Looks great.
what do you do for a living man
leases cars, didn't you watch the video, the bmw is leaving in 5 months its a lease.
technically not American, but Italian
Actually if we’re getting “technical” the car is built in Brampton, Ontario Canada.
@@ocmotivator 🎯
35 percent tint
Good daily driver?
Deejay Gary depends on how many miles you have to drive. The car is comfortable but the gas mileage is bad. I was averaging 11-13mpg because it’s just hard to drive the car gently. I tried to daily drive but with gas prices so high I was dropping $75-80 day with my long daily driving. Not to even mention the $600 brakes and $250 for each tire. If you don’t mind the expense then I’d say yes it can be a daily driver.
@@ocmotivator looks like I'll be going with the regular RT 👍🏾 that works for me. Appreciate you getting back!!
@@ThaRealDeejayThaBarber What did you end up getting
Engine is not bad but cast metal is not good as Swedish cars or German but rest is fine. Rusty too much under carriage.
Not true cause I had a super low tint and fucken highway patrol still gave me a ticket to remove it
Go to an eye doctor get a letter saying you need darker tint because your sensitive to light.
Already got the note. California doesn’t have a legal exception though but it helps with some cops to get let out of the ticket and if it doesn’t then some judges will take it. 👍🏼👍🏼
True: I use the same note on all my vehicles: RT Scat Wide Body Challenger, 6' bed Tacoma, CRV Touring, and convertible MR2 Spyder
The video’s title is not at all what you talk about. This was nothing about how much you paid for the scat pack.
Vidal Campos oops. I checked your channel. You don’t have any content. Nice. But you can criticize mine? Wow.
@@ocmotivator you handle the negativity like a boss! I wish I could be more like you. Keep up the great videos.
19,000 miles and only 2 oil changes???????????????
Yep. Technically 3 since I just had it done again. This is from the dodge website:
Every 6 Months:
Change the oil. The old "every 3,000 miles" rule in terms of changing oil is out the window with newer car models. The Challenger's oil should be changed every 6 months, or every 8,000 miles - whichever comes first.

Update on Challenger. Spends 5 mins talking about his past cars. Lol
charles fishback lol. You just made yourself laugh. Congrats.
He was explaining the issues he had with German vs American cars. It’s very helpful!!
lol i like this guy
He's a big baby lol
You got beat by a dodge neon! Hahaha
Can afford a 7 series but doesn't buy a hellcat.
@@ocmotivatorthat's all I'm saying bro. This is MERICAA! Stick with dodge.
@@ocmotivator Very cool that you take care of the family and the family of animals.. I do the same, I even have a possum family that eats at my place with 5 stray cats and my 2 and a krap load of birds in the A.M. ( my neighbors hate the birds for obvious reason). I love the vids and I love that car BUT it's great that you don't lose track of life..If it weren't for the animals and kids, I'd buy a Rolls, but for now it's the 2008 GT with 150K miles! Good man, Thank you!
All that driveway and parks in front of the mailbox
nathan jualin that was only to get the dodge out. Moved it earlier. And it was a Sunday. Chill out and don’t be so reactive and judgemental. Go troll somewhere else with your negativity. Ugh
And what are you people like in real life? How do you co exist with other humans? Something tells me this is the only place you can talk trash to people so it makes you feel better about yourself. Do you walk around criticizing people in real life? Find some happiness and positivity. Go comment with nice words to others and watch your life and spirit improve. Mailbox parking? Lmao. God I love TH-cam. 😂😂😂😂😂
🤦🏼♂️ all his money is tied up in depreciating assets
