Combat Jo Staff Kata Practice for Ryu Te

I had a few minutes to work on some Ryu Te kobudo concepts I recently discussed with one of Taika Seiyu Oyata's senior students that I don't want to forget. The kata I'm using as a platform is Jo Jissen (combat jo). This is not the Jo Jissen kata.

I find it interesting and practical, even pragmatic. Very energetic, no extra spinning, hands always in close contact with jo. Side blocks are something I like very much. This is real combat jo, no doubt. Thank you for sharing this short but valuable film.

This is a nice kata, I'm not too familiar with Jo kata but this was interesting and thank you for sharing this
