Super cool video. I feel like taking my Promaster apart and putting it back together, just for the fun of it. I've done a few things on mine, but I've was always wondering about how difficult it would be to get to the back set of cylinders. It would be cool if you had a tripod and we got to see you field stripping the vehicle, maybe in timelaps. Just a thought. Thanks for the great content!
Kinda depends on if you've ever done it before. If you never have, it would probably take you 12 hours to get the engine out. It goes back together super quick, because these things are designed to be easy to assemble at the factory. If you've done the job before, you might lop a third off your total time. In short, one novice dude working by himself could complete an engine swap in something like 3 work days.
A ram engineer wrote "0W20 was picked for the Engine Pentastar to get better gas mileage, at the cost of the heads". To make your head last use 0W-30 100% Synthetic Motor Oil as 0W20 is too thin for the heads. If you hear tick noise stop and get your heads fixed before they fail and take out the engine.
Ram needs to watch this video. All that stuff you pulled should be redesigned and done away with. Engine compartment needs to be that stripped down and spacious from the factory.
Thanks for making this video Kip. It’s apparent that you’re the man 😊
@@jaystewart9947 agreed! I’ve been saying it for years! I am, in fact, the man!

That's a good video idea. I like it.
Great tips.
Will make any future repairs less painful.
Ty
🤔👍🏼😊
Thanks , I have mine 4 years so I found this out. I got a bull bar so unless it bad I do most from the top .PIA engine
Great video! Thanks Kip.
Awesome video Kip very informative as usual
Thanks D!
So taking out the radiator isn’t necessary..? Wish I’d known. We seem to be doing fine and soon to go to Guatemala. Thanks for the help.
Good info to know even though I would never attempt such a job on my own (way beyond my skill level) 😂
Great video thank you
Need a video for rear wheel bearing replacement 2016 ProMaster
Going to need you to look harder, because there's 10,000 of you but only one of me. th-cam.com/video/ifrzkLZl3pE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JLJwVWQ1iD9ZRxnw
That brush guard is a real PITA to install or remove...!!
great video are you going to make a rocker arm video
Others have made better videos. Type “Motorcity mechanic pentastar rocker”
I wish RAM would make a stout 4 banger. Backside of a cross mounted 6 is always less then ideal.
Agreed. If I were smart, I’d spend time retrofitting an SRT4 engine.
Start to finish, how much time does it take to strip all that stuff out of the engine bay in one go? And is the time to put it back in about the same?

I have a video on why that isnt true. Search my channel with “what causes”
Its an infogasm.... I am getting a brush guard.
All the cool kids have them. I figure it GUARANTEES you will hit a deer.
My van is famous again. If I would have known I would have washed it.
Ha!

It’s not that bad. But it would be nice if a few tweaks were incorporated.
cool
Thanks Rusty!
Salty little Bal garglers 😂😂
Obviously, it's gonna need you to lift the cab.
Is that the colorado Rob Snodgrass I know and love?
