All Fall Down and Let Me Be the One had a buzz in the states. All of the 70s style Jackson groups were cool but after Triumph and Destiny they weren't doing either. Like New Edition found their footing in New Jack Swing and was able to thrive. 5 Star should have got a Jimmy Jam and Terry, or on that side linked with George Michael and his camp. Or the Acid Jazz stuff. I think Denise could have done well with that

Great group! I was a night club DJ in the eighties and these 5 always packed the dance floor. I’m so glad I grew up with music like this .there will never be another era like the eighties. Now you five need to get back together. And show the world how it’s done.

This album was one of the best recorded albums (Luxury Of Life) of its time. If you can get a hold of the RECORD and play it on a sound system with speakers that have 15" woofers, you will see what I mean. The bass is fantastic and will blow you away. The mids and highs are crisp and clear. IMHO, all are balanced very well. The music you just have to get up and move to. Just about every song on the album is great. One of the best 80's groups. Sadly they didn't last long.

This U.K. band was really FANTASTIC I loved EVERY song they released..!! This song “Love Take Over” is actually produced and mixed by a Dutch team called The Limit.. they also remixed the Twelve Inch version of this song.. The Limit has one FABULOUS song called “Say Yeah”. Bet it’s on TH-cam as well.. go search for it and you’ll hear the resemblance of that song with this one that The Limit produced :)
As an indifferent kid in the 80s I am now rediscovering Five Star in 2022, and I have to say how fantastic their music sounds even today! Quintessentially 80s yet still has the vocals, grooves, the melodies and the production to still sound fantastic even after all these years. Recently downloaded the Silk and Steel album and their remix anthology album - quite shocked at how many great tracks they made! What a talented bunch!👏🏻😍
And I doubt there is a single black pop band in the "charts" nowadays doing R&B music or anything remotely soulful, all this generation get nowadays is terrible screeching or autotune, child like songs and the like likes of the awful Sam Smith reciting demonic rituals, glad I lived through the 80s.

Five Star were great & had some of the best pop songs ever written, constant hits. Cute dancing & Denise has a great voice with brilliant expressions, knew how to work the camera. I miss this era it really was special. I love Denise's album "Imprint" every single song is great & real music.

I was into 5 Star and The Jets back in the day!! My friends and I were singing the songs as if we were the artists ourselves 🤦🏾♀️😂 I’m realizing how much the girls resemble The Braxton’s. The older brother resembles Kenny Lattimore to me. We all have a twin somewhere in the world 🤗

The music business has dramatically changed, especially when major corporations began acquiring all the record labels. It’s become strictly more about what will sell than the quality of the music. Plus how people consume music has drastically changed, which is mainly through streaming apps. Allowing people to monthly subscribe to all the music available on their platform has inevitably devalued the quality of music.
