Grinned reading that too as I'm exactly same age now. Recall hassle free summer with friends etc when this song came out. Had an ear for more range of music back then but today's chart music seems so much more synthetic or maybe that's just getting old? (Let's get today's teens & conduct a music quality test.... I've small kids now but they seem to like a broad spectrum of music spanning from 1962 to now... love that they like their contemporary pop too but it comes at a cost to my ears...
Alexia Cordeiro Branco. Back then you could not buy distressed jeans, that hadn't occurred to the clothing industry yet. We would cut & slash our jeans ourselves, and then sometimes bleach-splash them. It was the cool thing to do!
TH-cam is a pretty good time machine of sorts. Back in the 80s, to get to the '60s, it required a buddy with a Fiat and a huge Hendrix cassette library. But I digress. YT is just awesome for music exploration. Peace and enjoy!
This was my mom's favorite song. Every time I hear it I think about riding in the car when I was a kid with my mom blasting this song with the windows open. I miss her.
Why is it that once you start listening to these fire 80's hits, you end up binging on all 80's music for hours on TH-cam? Nothing and I mean straight up nothing will ever dominate the music, culture and fads of the 80's! So blessed to have lived and experienced the enlightening 80's. This 54 year old will always be an 80's child!
Well said and so true, the 80's was the best decade for music. I am 56 and grew up listening to this genre of music as a teenager, brings back so much good memories and makes me feel young again.
I've gotten into an 80's fade as I've gotten older. when I was younger, I never listen to 80's music now I do. age is a wonderful thing and I was born in the 80's myself. born in 89.

Well, you can always listen to it and probably still discover a lot of great songs you haven't heard, so I see no problem here:) At least they are all available, we have Shazam and stuff, and you don't have to wreck your brain trying to find some particular song.
She graduated from Baldwin high school where I graduated in 1992. I believe she graduated there like 3 or 4 years b4 me. Still an amazing kick ass fucking song.
taylor dayne is a very talented singer and she has this magical voice and lyrics that i love, her songs will never be forgotten in this word. since when have you been listening to Taylor's songs?
Depends what type of 80's music you're talking about. 80's music that you hear in nightclubs chains like: *Popworld* *Walkabout* *Flares* etc That are mainly in the Disco, Synth Pop, New Wave, Rock etc genres I hate. Same goes for 70's music. However I like practically every other genre from every other decade, including this, which you hear in Flare's sister nightclub chain *Reflex* which focuses more on late 80's and early 90's Eurodance and R&B music.
Asshats, that's who, and the new age of internet trolls that will make negative, racist, remarks to get a kick out of making people pissed off. Long live the 80's and the pop culture it inspires, even today.
@@Model_Roe What I meant is that pop usually isn't my thing with this song being one of the rare exceptions. I'm more into stuff like AC/DC, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses and along those lines.

Theres nothing like 80's Nostalgia. I was born in 82 but i remember most my childhood years in the 80s. Playing outside most the day, chasing down the ice cream man, skateboarding, and then playing nintendo for like an hour at a friends house because we all had that one friend that had everything.
I *was* that one friend that had everything. I needed lots of stuff in order to get friends I think. If you lack charisma, get lots of fun stuff. Aah well.
But it would be nice if a lot of geneticists could do it, there are Tina Turners and Taylor Daynes who have cousins of Amy Winehouse, Laura Branigan, Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Aalyah, Aretha Franklin, Beyonce Rihanna and Cher Celine Dion’s brothers who would play together as more bands in the future. And just like the new Donna Summers who have Amy Winehouse, Laura Branigan, Whitney Houston, Aalyah, Aretha Franklin, Beyonce Rihanna and Cher Celine Dion are siblings who would play together as more bands in the future. Of course, there would also be genetically new stars so that we would not be the same there would be diversity diversity as well. But it would be nice if you knight Rider Michael Night for justice for foundations modeled on ordinary people and stars for human harmony foundations as well.
the history of this track: it was released in 1987 but slowly climbed and stayed on the charts for what seemed like forever. even though they claim it peaked in early 1988, it was hot on the radio well into the summer of 1989 like it was new. it just had amazing staying power if I remember correctly. it was so powerful nothing else could outcurve its momentum.
This track was amazing. I'm a hard rock/metal fan, but the first time I heard Taylor Dayne I fell in love! Always wanted her to perform a duet with a rock god (Robert Plant, Freddy Mercury, Steve Perry, etc.) Taylor would have killed it! One of the very few "pop" records I own. Taylor is AWESOME!
I think it must have been re-released as well, because I remember it being everywhere in 1990/1991 too. Would it have been on a movie or TV soundtrack that gave it a resurgence around then maybe?

The women dressed better they looked better than music was better. And Taylor Dane was an absolutely stunning woman. She was so beautiful. A lot of young guys my age had a crush on her back in the day .
This is one of those songs that I loved as a child but now that I'm 40 and gone thru some stuff.....hits me different. I get it Taylor, love ya! *PS....Her dancer boys are flawless!*

One of the most 80's music videos of the 80's
I'm 65 and still love the 80's. Big music, big hair, big smiles. Everybody got along. What a time to be in.
Girl what 80s did you live in? it’s was whole wars going on and you said everyone was getting along? don’t forget more common racial discrimination
@@shamekasmith6117 Uh - I think you meant that comment for David Vollmer. He's the one who claimed everyone got along. Take care!
@@terrymovold4364 sir…. Where did I @ you? Do you see your name in my first comment…. NO you don’t. So use your common sense and realize if your name isn’t in front of my sentence than it wasn’t directed to you.
You are one year older than my mother. I thinks you guys are more late 1970s people.
Am 65 too
This song still holds up....what a voice ❤
Fr powerful!!!❤
Me and her have the same lip's
omg her makeup and hair, i'm obsessed!!!
Brings back so many memories. Loved the song from the moment it first came out on the radio!!❤❤❤
Lovin' that 80's sound baby!
Wow what a voice ive ben listening all my life to this jam
The older you get the more you appreciate and love the music from you're mother and father's era, God bless the 80s squad, they set the standards very high and it will never be touched 🎤🎵🎶💃🕺❤️
I had just 14 years when this cool song came out..now I have 49 and still listen 😊 same song..brings back memories, beautiful memories of good old '80s!
I am exactly the same age as you. I actually had a tear rolling down my cheek from the memories.
Me too! I will be 50 in November!!!
@@heathermccord1307 we are still young 😊
❤Taylor 4Ever !!!
50 in January and would go back to the 80s in a ❤Beat !!
Classic tune 🎶 😊
Her outfit, their outfit.... HER OUTFIT AND THEIR OUTFIT is for what I live for😍
Alexia Cordeiro Branco. Back then you could not buy distressed jeans, that hadn't occurred to the clothing industry yet. We would cut & slash our jeans ourselves, and then sometimes bleach-splash them. It was the cool thing to do!
That's how we dressed
The 80's rocked. I wish I can back in time.
No instagram no facebook no internet people are waiting for weekend to meet their other half everyone is ready to give and receive love

TH-cam is a pretty good time machine of sorts. Back in the 80s, to get to the '60s, it required a buddy with a Fiat and a huge Hendrix cassette library. But I digress. YT is just awesome for music exploration. Peace and enjoy!
Me too.
It’s up to us. Keep sharing it. These lil kids know nothing about grrrst music
You want to define the 80’s? This is one of the songs.
@Anthony Ranaldi Motley Crue and Van Halen buddy!

That’s a lovely thought ❤️

Your mom must be a cool mom.
Phenomenal song and film clip. They don’t make them like this anymore. Such a shame. She is on fire here.
The song, the fashion , the dancers is all so 80s and I LOVE IT..80s girl forever here at 59 years old
Then you know what the clubs were like!
I’m a 90’s baby and discovered this music on TH-cam. I love the 80’s vibe ❤️
Same here 👋🏽😍
Soooo many good songs with the same types of vibes! The 80's were the best time for my childhood.
@@christopherroncone6939 Please drop the good ones. I’ll make sure I listen to it!
It dosnt get old
Try "You Give Good Love" by Whitney Houston? Or "Ain't Nobody" by Chaka Khan!!

I love the 80's. They make me super happy. ❤️😍❤️
Well said and so true, the 80's was the best decade for music. I am 56 and grew up listening to this genre of music as a teenager, brings back so much good memories and makes me feel young again.
@@gtdude2883 perfectly stated!
I've gotten into an 80's fade as I've gotten older. when I was younger, I never listen to 80's music now I do. age is a wonderful thing and I was born in the 80's myself. born in 89.
the great 80's, i miss em so..best pop music era!

Eddie G I would call it more disco/ pop but still a true statement
Isabelle Doyle not disco, far from that
Isabelle Doyle far from disco, but definitely pop dance music
The 80's by far was the best decade for music. People actually had talent they did not need all this AI where it literally wright's it for you.
This song will always be a masterpiece.
AGREED.
I miss this kind of music.
I wasnt born in the 80s but i wish i grew up in this time era the fashion and music was awesome
@@metroidman13 some places still have an 80s vibe and you can still dress 80s :)
Well, you can always listen to it and probably still discover a lot of great songs you haven't heard, so I see no problem here:)
At least they are all available, we have Shazam and stuff, and you don't have to wreck your brain trying to find some particular song.
JOANNA Toner me tooooo
@Lady Warrior me 2. The 80\s was a lot of fun.
Taylor Dayne is an incredible singer!!!! a friggen legend!!!!
There's an amount of excitement and happiness that you do not experience when you listen to the new modern music, it just hits different.
This song is still hot after all these years.
Published on May 15, 2007
Absolutely
you now that
I love the way they walked of at the end
How can anyone not like Taylor Dayne and 80s music?
My Own Path it's rare for people not like 80s music because its so amazing, but today's music yes.
Depends what type of 80's music you're talking about.
80's music that you hear in nightclubs chains like:
*Popworld*
*Walkabout*
*Flares* etc
That are mainly in the Disco, Synth Pop, New Wave, Rock etc genres I hate.
Same goes for 70's music.
However I like practically every other genre from every other decade, including this, which you hear in Flare's sister nightclub chain *Reflex* which focuses more on late 80's and early 90's Eurodance and R&B music.
We don't need those kind of people in our lives
Asshats, that's who, and the new age of internet trolls that will make negative, racist, remarks to get a kick out of making people pissed off. Long live the 80's and the pop culture it inspires, even today.
Im 46..and im a 80s child too and today listen that music....Im Love it!!!!
I’m 12....and I consider myself at the 80s too
Don’t judge

Why not???? Eighties music is the best those classics live on
@@Model_Roe What I meant is that pop usually isn't my thing with this song being one of the rare exceptions. I'm more into stuff like AC/DC, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses and along those lines.

Indeed! 👏👏 Bravo well said.
Class of 1980 here. Which might make me a 70s girl. But I was obsessed with her music back then. I ll have to remember to play her music the next time us old ladies get together for some one's birthday. 😂

Theres nothing like 80's Nostalgia. I was born in 82 but i remember most my childhood years in the 80s. Playing outside most the day, chasing down the ice cream man, skateboarding, and then playing nintendo for like an hour at a friends house because we all had that one friend that had everything.
Riding your bike to your friend's house because it was still safe to do that at age 9 or 10 😂
I *was* that one friend that had everything. I needed lots of stuff in order to get friends I think. If you lack charisma, get lots of fun stuff. Aah well.

Being an 70s child, 80s kid, 90s adult brought me here... memories❤️
Same here. 1970 baby.
Sweet memories 😍👍

Literally why I came here
the history of this track: it was released in 1987 but slowly climbed and stayed on the charts for what seemed like forever. even though they claim it peaked in early 1988, it was hot on the radio well into the summer of 1989 like it was new. it just had amazing staying power if I remember correctly. it was so powerful nothing else could outcurve its momentum.
@@billsager5634 Robert plant was peaking right around the time of her debut a collab would've been banannas. and I too am a hard rock/metal fan.
You seem to know alot bout this song, I think I played it 2000 times an I didn't know this, thank you chris
I think it must have been re-released as well, because I remember it being everywhere in 1990/1991 too. Would it have been on a movie or TV soundtrack that gave it a resurgence around then maybe?
@@StandardGoose yes my freind in 1995 it was re mixed and re released so you are spot on.youre a few years mistaken when you say around 1991 but it was actually 95.just a reminder of how quick time passes us by

34 years and still a classic! They'll never be a pop-culture era like the 80's 😁
I was just thinking the exact same same :)
@Zippy Knowitall It's all a matter of opinion my friend. I was just merely expressing mine 🙂On the other hand if this song is so crummy then why did you search this vid out?
@Zippy Knowitall Nope, everyone has their own taste. Music is meant to be enjoyed not politicized. I like some 60's stuff also but to me 80's was the bomb and I stand by that. You however are free to think otherwise because like I said we all have our own taste. On top of that you DID choose to come on this channel even though you claimed to hate this song, and my question is why? Bashing with people over music seems like a complete waste of time.
