Love the fact that this guy makes the entire process in a video no longer than 6 minutes. Lots of videos are full of chit chat and stretches to more than 25 or 30 minutes. Great job 👍🏼
Short, sweet, solid instruction with good insights. Video work did it's job to show the details. Like to see a little more footage that includes FRONT replacement as well.
Front is the exact same process with disc brakes. Compress the cylinder with C clamp, swap old pads out, put new pads with guides on, reinstall the caliper
Wow that is overpriced. Should be around 200 and thatd be with OEM pads. No more than 1 hour of labor for a mechanic. Unless he was going to change Rotors too. If rotors arent too old can have them resurfaced for pretty cheap if you call around
Brake shoes are when you have drum drakes. Both front and rear on this car have disc brakes. The front is the same job just with different torque values. Here's a later video I did on same car Front and Back plus changing rotors 👍 th-cam.com/video/s2VHgos3Kvo/w-d-xo.html

Thanks James. Have to do some front end work soon on same car 😀👍
Front is the exact same process with disc brakes. Compress the cylinder with C clamp, swap old pads out, put new pads with guides on, reinstall the caliper
Had to replace an entire caliper, but also had to do all pads and this helped a lot thanks (especially where to apply the brake lube)
You're welcome, glad I could help you out 👍

Jonny diy is nice
Thank you! 👍
So I was always told to open the bleeder valve when compressing the piston but it always causes air in the line and it looks like it’s unnecessary???
Not necessary to open bleeder valve when compressing calipers on pad changes. Only if you need to bleed brakes like after caliper change 👍
Nice job
Thank you 👍🏻
How much torque did you use?
20 ft lbs for rear slide pins, 25 ft lbs torque for front slide pins 👍
Simple 😊
Happy to help 🙌👍
Pump your brakes to get piston back out before yuo move your car .
The rip off mechanic in my town wants to charge me $400 for replacing my rear pads. No compassion for just a regular working guy.
Wow that is overpriced. Should be around 200 and thatd be with OEM pads. No more than 1 hour of labor for a mechanic. Unless he was going to change Rotors too. If rotors arent too old can have them resurfaced for pretty cheap if you call around
Go to the county and drive to find a mechanic do it for 40.
Yo pal, don't say you're replacing pads when you're doing rear shoes. Pads are for discs. Shoes are for old school.
