Dose it code injectors?
@@TheChiefCoin Yes.
Since I am your faithful follower, I would like to suggest that you make a video recommending a rubber tablet that is useful for hard work in the workshop and where to install this type of scanner.
Goodbye Snap-on and Bosch! These things are going to put them out of the scan tool business pretty quick I bet. I got one a week ago and am blown away by what you get for the price. I'm a career tech with 25 years of experience and I can tell you that this is an awesome unit so long as they don't play games with the update price after the free year is up. For Ford there is a programmable module installation option!! I did not find it for GM, you guys let me know what other makes and models this thing can program modules on. That is the real $ maker right there!
Does it work Mercedes?
Unit capable of doing O2 sensor resistance learn reset on 2015 Chevy Cruze 1.4L? Nice video - thanks
People who base the subscription rate is brand new to diagnosing cars. $5,000-$10,000 Autel, Alcateral, xtool requires you to pay $800-$900 to update the scanner. That fact that it can do everything that a $5,000 dealership ship can do for not even a 10th of the price and subscription is a no brainer
Could you test it with another diagnostic application other than the one that comes by default with the scanner?
for example: diagzone (be careful, it is possible that it rewrites the firmware and can only work with diagzone).
Thank you very much man good job very nice. Sounds like you knowledge it’s good for cars. I think I wanna buy one the way you explain it help me out. I think I need one of these scanners. Thank you very much.
What features work after the one year free updates? I take it this is a annual subscription and not an update fee.
This is a great question. I'm trying to find out. It seems the company spent lots of money on marketing and these TH-camrs are making ads for the devices. Would be great to get legit reviews
Note: You only get 1 Year of Free Updates online and 1 Year of Free 16 Reset Functions ECU Coding.
Great video. I have one on the way! Just replaced a BCM in my 2007 Avalanche. Do you think this will work to get everything in sync? Truck starts and almost everything works. Only issue is no gauges / System info on the dash. Ooh and power to radio stays on after turning truck off and opening door.
I am not sure, GM is kinda stupid when it comes to the modules being changed out and most of the time they require you to log in to acdelcotds.com and pay 50 dollars to program and module on the truck.
thinkdiag 2,great tool
YOU SELL IT WILL BE GOOD
No
xtool's a30m is pretty comparable with lifetime updates also.
Between xtool and thinkdiag, which do you think is faster? Speed is a great selling point for me.
You can't do coding with A30M
@@shaazythinkdiag 2 is way way faster
Hi ! Do you know how to clear history on THINKDIAG2 ? Please ! Thanks
Its all app based so maybe if you uninstall the app and then reinstall it will be back to factory defaults.
@@737mechanicThanks
This thing looked really promising, but sadly, it would NOT scan a 2005 Bentley Continental GT even though emailing Thinktool, they did say that it should. Very strange. Did ALL of their troubleshooting too but to no avail. I went on to their community page within the app, and it seems like there are others with the same problem with their Volkswagens from all over the world (Bentley is on the same software), so it's not just me. Other than that, it scanned my 2016 Tacoma really well, but this uncertainty of whether it would or it won't kinda leads me wanting to return it. I'm still in that return period. Maybe order a replacement of the same? What do you think?
Wonder if this thing will do mileage correction if I swap my gauge cluster
It shows to have the option but I have never done it so I don't know if it will.
@@737mechanic thanks hell I will get one worst case I got a decent diagnostic tool
Will it work on proprietary-only-scanner engines like the Cummins? If so then the yearly cost may be understandable?
Do you have to pay for a subscription after the first year ?
Yes, it is $79.
Thank you so much my guy
does thinkdaig work for 2018 pathfinder to program a fob?
I don't know for sure on that vehicle.
28:30 software update will cost you any ride around $99 It's a little over a hundred bucks for it but they're always running specials constantly and you can get it for right around $99 give or take 10 20 bucks depending on how patient you are waiting for the next special I have the thing diag and I have the thing diag two and I have the thing driver correction I have the think car all modules I've had this for quite some time and very very impressed with it been a mechanic for I forget how many years but very impressive it as you are Good company all the way around good app a lot easier to use than most but you said you didn't know what the updates were would cost so I figured I'd drop you a letter and let you know and that's for the full software everything unlocked it'll be about 99 bucks You can do one vehicle manufacturer and it's a lot cheaper like the steak driver or think car that I've got It's a two manufacture module and had that for myself just for my two main vehicle manufacturers that I own and then you can open that up for however many maintenance functions that you want or all of them either or they're real flexible and getting cheaper as the months go by enjoy Good luck brother
This scanner can perform an ABS initialization?
Yes
Can thinkdiag do all this too? Or does it only work with thinkdiag 2?
I think the Thinkdiag 2 has much more capability than the regular Thinkdiag.
Only difference is version 2 supports Can-FD which is a protocol used in very recent cars (2020 and up)
@@DownloaderVideo Thanks for the info.
Nice video.Have you seen my letters about laser level?
Yes
I like to know if this can do 02 sensor test
Yes it can.
But does it do keys well?
The next key I need to program I am going to test it.
My question as well
I know it gives security access to Ford pats, pre 2014 could be 2011
Does this show the PID's when you use it for live data? eg transmission temperature?
Yes it shows all pids that the manufacturer has bult into the module.
Will it read J1850 protocol
Yes
@@737mechanic thank you for the fast reply!
Is this device works to reprogram any required software to the vehicle? Also if I installed any part in the vehicle and it need to be reprogram, can yhis device work it out and do it...?
Can you see the injector parameters?
Yes
how you can see the real millage on the vehicle?

@@737mechanic but with the thinkdiag 2?
Will it pull pin codes like the xtool d9?
The next car I get in that uses PIN codes I will check. And just to be clear it isn't just the xtool D9 that pulls PIN codes the D8 does also. I have a few videos showing the D8 pulling pin codes.
Thinkdiag2, ABS .air bleeding yes or no
Yes
is it good with bmw,mb , vw ?
those brands got alot of control modules with special functions needed, can this tool scan all them effectively?
Yes it can. It does a great job with many special functions and coding on some euro cars.
i have a thinkcar and just got a thinkdiag and thinkdiag2. Seems like with those smaller units, you'll be stuck with one make after the years over. otherwise it's 35 or 50 per car brand per year.
That's an automatic fail. They're both going back.
I hope that is not the case. It better have everything up to that point.
@@737mechanic I have the original thinkdiag... i have to get a subscription every 2 years for all makes. otherwise it revers back to 1 manufacturer.
im not sure what the thinkdiag 2 has over the original. its a bigger unit for sure.
@@Oofsmageroo How much is the subscription?
What's the expiration date for? Was hard to tell but seemed that some of the car companies scrolling through your list had an expiration date, while others did not
I'm not exactly sure, I couldn't find anything that talked much about it.
You only get 1 Year of Free Updates online and 1 Year of Free 16 Reset Functions ECU Coding. You will HAVE TO renew at the Renewal Date on the date/s shown on the car options to continue access to the premium functions. So when you order - the device comes with a 1-year-only subscription for unlimited car access with special functions - its not free for life. If you don't renew you only have access to the basic features for life.
Pardon me for my ignorance, if I download all the car makes, after the expiration date I will be able to use that software offline, what is considered premium functions, I want to be able to keep using the immo key programmer software for all the makes I downloaded, please explain.
@@juanmmurillo My other scan tools still work after the expiration date so I am only assuming this one will keep working for everything up to that last update before it expired. If not I will be doing a video telling people NOT to buy it.
@@737mechanicHi, I have a Suzuki Celerio 2019 make for Maruti.
My car use a AMT transmission, after to changd the Clutch system need to be reset.
Where I can find information about this scanner?
Any help will be appreciate.
I don’t think this device can be used for a replacement ECU.
It depends on the year make and model.
It’s great but updates are 159.00 ridiculous
Someone said they were $79.00 are you sure it is $159.00?
$159 is for 2 years
Does anyone have a clue how to program gear ratios to correct the speedometer. 2000 silverado went from 3.73to 4.10. The literature for this scanner says it will.
Without having connected to the vehicle I can only guess. If the scan tool can do it you will want to look under special functions, either in the transmission module, ABS module, instrument cluster module, or in the stand-alone special function list. I know the gear ratio changes are year and vehicle-specific.
@@737mechanic All I can find is tire size correction. It is listed under Abs.strange thing is when you tap on gear learn crank cam collation comes up. Why that is crazy crank cam collation should be under engine special functions not gear learn.
@@fbrow16 They have the cam crank correlation mixed up with gear change it sounds like. If gear ratio is not an option you could always do the tire size change it get the same effect. All the gear ratio or the tire size change does is calibrate the computer to the actually speed the car is traveling so both the speedo and the shift points will be correct.
Can this devicento program a new key? If yes, how? I've got a new key for my Opel insignia...
so after the first year you basically only have a OBD reader you then need to pay $150 a year to update it so I'm cheeper buying a new scanner ever year as you get a years free updates and sell the old one for $50 as a decent ODB reader Cool
Actually, it is $79 dollars to keep it updated.
here in the UK the greedy buggers want $149 so am cheeper buying a new one its really stupid
@@737mechanic
No it will not turn to paperweight when subscription expires it will keep working with all models just will not update newr cars
Does anybody know how to correct odometer mileage
The xtool D8 will do it on a lot of cars.
amzn.to/3RQon37
it seems like this thing turns to a paperweight after it expires in year unless you renew. and nobody reviewing this on youtube is even mentioning it. so when the "subscription" expires after a year. you lose the ability to do a full diagnostic and system scan. also you lose the 15 maintenance reset functions. you essentially you can only do check engine and transmission scans. can anybody in here clear up this bullcrap?
I was wondering what exactly happens when it expires. I plan on doing a video when it expires showing precisely what works and what doesn't.
@@737mechanic i just found another youtuber who did the due diligence regarding this. basically your $100 device turns to a scanner that only does check engine codes.
@wanderingandroid No problems. Next year, you buy it again. 130 $ to pay every year,to have all of this functionality 's ,is nothing .The good scanners, are on thousands (upfront),plus a lot of hundreds every year, to update them. so,130 ,every year, is ok.
It's like 70 bucks to renew all car brands it's worth it if you work on vehicles
Ive got 2 years for the price of 1......
God help you if you need to get any support. It takes days to get a response, and even when you provide them with a clear explanation of the error they try to jump you through all kinds of hoops. Took over a MONTH to get a replacement dongle when the one they shipped was DOA. Upload screenshots, videos... etc. YEAH, IT'S DEAD SEND ME ANOTHER ONE.
And then the replacement gets licensing errors, and they want all the same hoops again. VERY POOR SERVICE.
I buy one and it's not support my car, paying for nothing
What kind of car do you have?
@@737mechanic How about Saturn Vue 2007 V6 engine? Thanks.
@@timguy161 I has saturn in the list so it should.
is it possible to correct miles with this thinkdiag 2, from the phone or tablet?
The option is there but I have not done it so I am not sure.
