If they offered a 100% complete kit other than the batt, I'd buy it rt now. Guess, I'll have to keep waiting & some of the reviews don't seem that great.

I have wanted the C-fab kit for a long time...still do. I don't know how people are completing it for $1600 though (as you claimed on FB). When I sourced all the parts, it was going to be about $2200 to complete it.
I would have left this comment on your FB post but I'm currently banned from posting.

That is the price C-Fab says his guys say it's averaging. I already have a stator for example, I would hope most XR650R's due at this point. Everyone I know that has an XR650R has lighting, etc and thus a stator. For battery yeah you can buy earthx or Antigravity but there are other options too. He showed me the parts cost as he keeps a eBay page with them and a starter is $38, I don't recall the other part cost and yeah you got to machine which he can do and I think that is $70. You are paying for the housing as you know and the extension piece and as you can see XR Poland is charging the same really although told me his cost was $200. I know C-Fabs cost isn't that low at all.
I also talk on my FB page about there is a lot of factors for a small shop to not be able to do a kit with everything. Is XR Poland going to warranty that generic Battery? Or how about the starter? I talk in depth about the business implication of having to store, and warranty all those parts. You do know C-Fab is basically a one man shop who builds race trucks. He has like one young guy working there on that stuff. If you think the guy is rich you are so mistaken. Just a dude that made a kit for a bike he rides.
Without any other kit to copy he designed and built one. So yeah, it's horiable to see someone buy his and copy it 100%. For XR Poland to claim he had issues, but yet never reached out to C-Fab but yet has some knowledge to be able to have the housing and extension made. That is pretty shitty of XR Poland, his deal right off the bat was to copy C-Fabs kit and he clearly did that because there was no need for the extra drain plug material to be added except XR Poland copied it 100%, didn't even try to make a change.
Then when you dig deeper into XR Poland, his issues wasn't with the housing it was with the gears. So probably sourced Chinese gears and had an issue assuming there was ever a problem. XR Poland clearly shows C-Fab's kit starting the bike.
I know you are here to say $1600, and you don't see how it would be that low...that is what customers of C-Fabs in the 50+ range have reported back. Maybe they already have a stator, a battery (most of us do). But you could be right if you need to buy a Stator or an awesome battery those alone could be $500. So yeah, you might pay $2000 when all is said and done, especially if you buy name brand components. I think he once told me you buy Honda parts you probably looking at $2,500+ yeah and I believe it.
The question is for $2,200 what battery, Stator and components is XR Poland giving you? That battery looked pretty generic, the stator too. Are those just Chinese junk? I know anytime I've bought Chinese drill batteries it's 50/50 chance they even work let alone last longer then a month. I just had a Battery Tender brand Lithium bike battery last less then a month. So that brings me back to how is XR Polands warranty and will he send out another battery, starter, etc if there are issues?
Honestly I don't see XR Polands people ordereing from C-Fab as he is in Europe and I don't see people like me here in the US ordering from XR Poland. So probably doesn't matter much just shitty he copied a design flat out. Not hard to make slight changes and say "my housing is better".

Hey. How I order the part from cfab and how I will get the part numbers for the other parts to complete the kit?

@@Meekerextreme I ordered the kit and parts a few days ago and now retract my previous comment about total cost. When I originally put my list together, I was looking at all new OEM parts, from Partzilla. However, I got most everything from ebay, aftermarket or used and yes, it was significantly cheaper. I haven't added it up yet but probably close to $1600 total. I can't wait to put it on my bike. Thanks for the video.

@Justin Schooler Yes, I finally got it working. It was not easy but in the end is worth it. In my case, the bike would not start via e-start, until I also upgraded to a programmable digital DC CDI from Ignitech in the Czech Republic. So add about another $200 required to make this modification work.

Hey I'm sorry to bother you guys very nice Kit. I just bought an XR and I am new with these bikes so I am reaching out because I can't find the information I need anywhere else. I am having trouble with the manual decompression system. It quite simply doesn't work I actually took the valve adjustment covers off and look at the system and no matter where the Cam is placed even at top dead centre on compression stroke Utilising the manual decompression lever never actually touches the valve and Releases compression. I have tried adjusting the cable but even taking the cable off at full rotation of the adjustment arm It never pushes the valve down.

Does that additional engine cover on the stator side also increase the effective oil capacity of the engine? If so, that’s also a big benefit (like some oversized clutch covers increase oil by 200ml)

The great thing is you can use any starter you want with the kit. Want a Honda one, buy a Honda one, want one off ebay then go that route.

I don't even know if Wayne is still making these now. Less and less bikes everywhere. But at the time it could be $1800 to $2800 depending on what type of parts you source from battery to starter.

Here in Portugal there are no electric start kits for XR 650. For what I've read it may fail, as it ads "a lot" of weight to the tip, it may cause vibrations and after a certain period of time it may brake. So it may be a lottery. Why not use the XR with kick? With a mikuni and well tuned you can start it so easily

    • @Meekerextreme
      @Meekerextreme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

There are many reasons to have an electric start bike. Hard terrain and not enough room to kick, been there done that many times. Stall on a steep singletrack hill and got to figure out how to kick start it. Maybe you are older and have bad knees etc...lot's of reasons to have an electric starter. Hence why people buy them.
I have yet heard of anything breaking because of the stress on the "tip", whatever that is. C-Fab has had his on for many years and many mils and no issues. Another guy has had his on for a long time too with no issues.
