Honestly I came to the USA with zero plans, I did not want to restrict my expectations, and since it was marriage that made me relocate, all I wanted was to just "LIVE". And I was spoilt since there was always family members around, I did not miss home much.

No, it isnt, not even for citizens. Post secondary education in Canada isnt free but it way cheaper than what international students pay

I am not sure what province/city you are heading to but newcomers get accommodation all the time. It all depends on your budget and preference
