U don't need to make any effort to change it. The accentt will automatically change by itself,depending on whom u interact with. If its same people from your country alone , twill never change.
But when u are in Rome u do like Romans. Otherwise they will be singling u out as being "fresh from the boat" u know what I mean. U should learn from your host, particularly where in Nigeria our teachers didn't teach us the right diction and intonation . Learn correct English language from educated Canadians and not the street slangs.
