I don’t buy branded makeup anyway (except elf, because they don’t mark up much and are fully vegan, which is important to me since I’m vegan), but I don’t see how this trip is any more excessive than the products that they sell themselves. It’s a luxury brand. This is nothing new. You’re paying for an idea. You’re paying for the brand. Yes you get a physical product, but the same factory making those is the same factory making somebody else’s product that’s barely marked up. In some cases you can buy directly from the manufacturer and pay the least amount of markup. Anyways, I’m ranting. My point is just I don’t see why anyone would expect a luxury brand to NOT do excessive things. The makeup itself is excessive. Excessive packaging, excessive marketing, excessive PR, excessive markups. And so on and so forth.
i remember andrea russett went and it seemed like it was a lot less toxic when it was newer. i guess the environment the regular working class is in right now makes these trips feel out of touch and dystopian. i also feel like it’s really obvious what influencers are brown-nosing tarte because they want to be invited

"1 lucky person & their guest"... I'm curious, does anyone know if this offer was made BEFORE or AFTER Tana & Brooke had to cancel their attendance for the trip? Super curious :-p
I think my biggest issue with brand trip content is that it’s just boring af to me. Most of the chosen influencers are all pretty similar & have the same vibe. I wanna see the Welsh twins on one of these things!
What confuses me is the fact that some of the influencers have never used a tarte product in their videos. They only use it occasionally on the trip and it’s in passing.
These trips making every smaller influence want to push Tarte products so they can go on the next trip. Marking wise, this is genius. People will forget the “boycott” in a week.
Nah if my business is doing so well, I'm taking my employees and those customers who spent the most money on my product that year. I already do that, sending extra gifts for free to 10 people who spent the most money per year 🎉
I feel like people think that tarte is the only one to ever do brand trips? Like I know it stopped during covid so most people didn’t see that for a few years but before that there were just as crazy brand trips imo.
I think the problem is the average person is having to choose between food and bills right now, and trips like these is a huge middle finger in their face. Like a "look at what youll never get to do, buy our products anyways". Theres already a difference in how the average person got treated vs the influencers and if thats how they feel towards their client base, then it makes sense people arent going to receive it well.
People who think it’s either paying for a brand trip or paying employees more 😭 I fear you are gravely misunderstanding how our capitalistic system works. Would be curious to know if ppl getting upset know how much employees at the brands they purchase from get paid. Bless their hearts.
I work in marketing and this trip is always so fascinating to me. They could just hire the same influencers to hand deliver donations to schools or different charities and spend half the money and it look better and still be a tax write off
They better start selling the P.R 😂 before it's duplicated. I would much rather support tart if they supported those whom need help. Such as a woman's shelter or an animal shelter. A 👏🏻 NON 👏🏻 PROFIT!!!!
It’s especially ridiculous considering the employees these brands hire to sell their products in the actual stores. Not once did I ever hear a customer ask for products because of x influencer (at least the brand I worked for). Our hours depended on how many $$ worth of products we sold. What did we get for hitting one or the highest sales goals? A dinner, yet we’d see the brand send influencers on these lavish trips.
I don’t watch beauty channels anymore, haven’t for years. It makes me absolutely ill to see a company spend so frivolously on a trip. There’s so much going on in this world and a cosmetics company is choosing to spend wasteful money on something that is clearly and solely to benefit their bottom line. This trip wasn’t designed to be life changing for these influencers who can afford their own vacations. This trip wasn’t a “thank you” for loyal customers. This was self serving for the brand. I’d have much preferred to see then put money toward homeless camps or dog shelters where people who care for others upload videos on how much a donation has impacted the real world around us. I’m over the “influencer” bs.
Ever since Morgan Adams shared her awful experience on a brand trip, bullying, body shaming, food shaming, etc, I will never think these trips are good and I’ll never not think about who is getting put down and bullied on them
Whats crazy is, these influencers NEVER post Tarte products unless they are being paid or unless they are already on the trip and have to post their products 😂🤭
I think people pretend they would like “normal” people to go, but the reality is those same people are always going to have something negative to say regardless.
There are actual makeup influencers and artists that have probably been in the game longer than many of those in the video. That’s who needs to be there.
I feel like I can’t trust influencers that praise Tarte products going forward. How do we know if they really love the products, or if they just want to get selected for the trip again and/or if they feel like they have to give good reviews because of the trip.
Started using Tarte when I was a teen and I’ve just stayed a loyal customer for some damn reason this whole time?? Despite this being a topic every year that Tarte does an influencer trip. It’s so annoying. I’ve replaced pretty much all my makeup now, my 4500+ points have been sitting for years, and I’ve even turned my nose to free full sized mascara. This whole trip thing is such a bad taste. Show your gratitude to the people actually putting money in your pockets instead.
Aren't these trip not for the influencers? Like a way that they say thank you to all them for their support. I get its also publicity. But why would they get a bad rep if they are just treating the people that help them get there?
You don't know how mlm works. Mlm means you have to purchase a start up kit and make sales continually to get prizes, attention , rank. Tarte is just giving it for free. These influencers are random and i never heard of them. I can see someone with alot of clout but these influencers are random.
Some people are rich and have these experiences and some people unfortunately “don’t”. I fall in the “don’t” bracket but I’m still happy to see them having fun.
I’ll never understand why these companies dont treat their actual customers or employees on trips like this. Why pay for someone who can afford to go and you pay to review instead of the people who work hard to be able to treat themselves to your products?
Looks fun to me! It’s like a fun meetup between peers. A fun way to collab easily, just run over to someone’s bungalow. I’m not jealous, I’m not mad. ENJOY YOURSELF!!!
Its funny coz I think of how I use to work in tourism here in NZ. We use to get tourist activities free so we knew the product and excitedly promote it. I got flown to the south Island and got an all expenses paid two week bus tour with awesome activities every day from bungy jumps to cruises, bar tabs to restaurant dinners. I kinda see this as the equivalent to my reach but there wasn't social media to the scale it is now. Also flown to Auckland to watch the ABs v England in a corporate box as a thank you when I worked in a bar from the brewery. Same sort of thing just different scale. This sort of thing has been going on for years its just now social media has changed the game.
People throwing away their products when boycotting a company it’s aabout saying “your actions are beyond wrong. To the point that I don’t care about the money nor how much I like your product. You are going out.” It’s like people not eating as a way of rebelling. “Look to what extent I go, for what I believe”

And so on and so forth.
exactly!!
For some Is not the excesses but who they took! They saying to take the employees or people who actually consume their products!
i remember andrea russett went and it seemed like it was a lot less toxic when it was newer. i guess the environment the regular working class is in right now makes these trips feel out of touch and dystopian.
i also feel like it’s really obvious what influencers are brown-nosing tarte because they want to be invited
i wonder how much their employees make
How much do you think they spent on marketing before social media? Pages in magazines or tv commercial! This is how the products sell now. Social media influencers!
I keep forgetting tarts exists until the brand trip happens 😂😂
Its just disappointing because they aren't including disabled creators, you know?
This!!! Yes!!!
Did you check all their profiles to check if any of them were disabled? I did not, I’m just wondering how you know.
@@sydneysovern As a disabled person recovering from a surgery I don't have time for that but looking at the tarte posts no I see no disabled creators from past trips. Would love to know if there are cause I feel really sad not to see my own kind.
@@shinygirlari hopefully I don’t need to point out that not all disabilities are visible
@@sydneysovern Girl don't worry I'm an Accessibility Consultant, I don't think any autistic creators or anyone who publicly raises awareness for chronic illness were involved either. I don't really get myself tangled with this online stuff but it's just something I noticed
i feel like tarte is so fallen off in general like no one cares ab their products
This trips are turning up so lavish that I wonder if they still worth it, like with people not buying make up like they used to, and now people saying they are never buying from Tarte again, are they still making THAT much money? How?
Tax write off
tarte trips never make want to buy tarte products even since alisha marie days, but i do enjoy seeing some of my favorite creators enjoy the trips
It's the fact that they think this lil brand trip is gonna make people wanna buy their stuff 😭
Tarte - let’s bring one person of every race and background so we seem nice!!
They need to consult the poc on their 27 shades of paper and one chalky brown shade.
The biggest joke is out of all those paper shades none of them work for properly pale people. They can’t even get that right
I hope their employees are getting fairly compensated
Maybe some of this budget could go to the employees making the products
"1 lucky person & their guest"... I'm curious, does anyone know if this offer was made BEFORE or AFTER Tana & Brooke had to cancel their attendance for the trip? Super curious :-p
Did they show who they took?
@@IllaLuna17 Can't remember anymore (this was a month ago) sorry ❤️
They literally sent ONE “normal person” couple. Wow Tarte, thanks for going the extra mile
People are so jealous!!!
Don’t think it’s jealousy love. I could pay my own way for a trip like this if I wanted. This trip is just dumb
@@camern2001 ur jealous love
I think my biggest issue with brand trip content is that it’s just boring af to me. Most of the chosen influencers are all pretty similar & have the same vibe. I wanna see the Welsh twins on one of these things!
💯💯💯💯 yes I’d love the Welsh twins
How people hating on an influencer trip especially when you aren’t an influencer.. very weird
People purchase from a brand. This isn't rocket science. They don't want to support a brand that does crap like this.
I feel the same way. It's giving jealous. Other companies have trips like this just don't post it everywhere.
Right it’s giving jealous.
I already do that, sending extra gifts for free to 10 people who spent the most money per year 🎉
Wait… What job are they taking time off for??? 5:53 for a vast majority of them this is their job
thats what made me giggle
Conspiracy theory
Tarte was being paid to promote the island.
A brand deal within a brand deal…
I feel like people think that tarte is the only one to ever do brand trips? Like I know it stopped during covid so most people didn’t see that for a few years but before that there were just as crazy brand trips imo.
I think the problem is the average person is having to choose between food and bills right now, and trips like these is a huge middle finger in their face. Like a "look at what youll never get to do, buy our products anyways". Theres already a difference in how the average person got treated vs the influencers and if thats how they feel towards their client base, then it makes sense people arent going to receive it well.
The people who are loving it: more “influencers”😂 LAUGHABLE
I feel like no matter what Tarte does somebody will find something to complain about. I do like how Spilly is open minded and sees all sides tho.
Im glad the only reason i have tarte is because of boxycharm. 😂
rich people r wildin
People who think it’s either paying for a brand trip or paying employees more 😭 I fear you are gravely misunderstanding how our capitalistic system works. Would be curious to know if ppl getting upset know how much employees at the brands they purchase from get paid. Bless their hearts.
How is it possible that I dont know any of these people 😮
Literally doesn’t bother me. Let them live their best lives. Cheers to that. If it was me in their shoes I’d be stoked AF!
The rich get richer.
This brand is just spoiling already spoiled people. Not everyone can do what they do. It’s out of touch.
😱 the more I see in this video!!! The girl in the glasses lol "it's a no for me dog" 😂😂😂😂
There are actual makeup influencers and artists that have probably been in the game longer than many of those in the video. That’s who needs to be there.
throwing a perfectly good product away bc of a brand trip is way more tone deaf than the actual trip imo
Mad they take a private jet. Then mad when someone isn't aboard that private jet.
Why does this brand read MLM? Like I’ve never heard of it and their stuff looks tacky.
Tarte has weird vibes but it’s a legit makeup brand. They’ve been around a long time and actually used to be popular asf
You don't know how mlm works. Mlm means you have to purchase a start up kit and make sales continually to get prizes, attention , rank. Tarte is just giving it for free. These influencers are random and i never heard of them. I can see someone with alot of clout but these influencers are random.
Why do people care so much?? Jealousy? So weird, it’s so nice seeing new content. Yall can never be happy.
I want to know why Mikayla wasn't invited to the Tassaaatttte trip. I know she was somewhere sulking and pouting like a child
People throwing away their products when boycotting a company it’s aabout saying “your actions are beyond wrong. To the point that I don’t care about the money nor how much I like your product. You are going out.” It’s like people not eating as a way of rebelling. “Look to what extent I go, for what I believe”
1:39 it’s always gonna be a win for them since it’s a tax right off. The more $ spent on the vacay, the more they get to right it off as an expense 🤷🏽♀️
This is tone death. LOWER THE PRICES if you can afford these gifts and trips!!!!! We, consumers, are struggling! Record homelessness and addiction rates... and we're paying for this?
They really should treat customers to these trips. That’s something I’d watch!
