      I'm really glad that it helped. It's not only the satisfaction of doing it yourself, but you will save a ton of money over the life of your car(s). Brakes are another big money saver and they aren't that difficult.

    Dude! get a universal joint set for your socket set. any self respecting auto parts store will have some in stock.
    also there are 32mm oil cap sockets made specifically for this job available too, they a bit more shallow which works better in tight spaces like seen in this very video.

      I'm pretty sure I have a u-joint in the box. There are a few ways to skin the cat, just working with what I got. Thanks for the comments!

    I came across your video. Good job. Clean garage. I hate how they didn't make that filter easier for accessibility

      Thanks! Yeah, I haven't come across a vehicle lately that doesn't make you work for the prize.

    Your video really helped me get info on some key parts, like the socket sizes and complete my oil change. Thank you for walking through this process in depth!

    Want to know "the name of the jack stands and lift you used" If you mention it with amazon link, I am so happy!! Great video. very helpful too.

      Hi friend, mine are so old that I don't remember where I got them. For your equinox, I would recommend a jack and stands rated for 2 tons minimum.

    I just went and got oil at Walmart and in their 'Full Synthetic' section I found a couple or three brands but nothing that says Dexos on the bottle, like yours. I bought Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage 5w-30 "Full Synthetic." Is that going to be Ok? No where on any of the other brands that were labeled "Full Synthetic" was the label Dexos is that something that's just recently changed?

      I'm sure what you bought will be fine. If you want to be double sure, your owners manual should have some info on oil ratings and those ratings should be listed on the bottle. If we were talking about transmission fluid, I would not deviate from manufacturer recommended.

      @@busabobsgarage9876 I think you're absolutely right. I mean, what I bought is "Full Synthetic" 5w-30 like the owner's manuel calls for, just without the "Dexos" label.

    • @busabobsgarage9876
      @busabobsgarage9876  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@davidpayton8336 Dexos is full synthetic, so you will be fine with the Pennzoil Platinum.

      @@busabobsgarage9876 Everything went fine, I had to go buy a shorter 1 1/4 socket and a universal joint for my 1/2 drive. And thanks for including resetting the milage oil use in your video, that was a snap to change. :-)
