DJI Mini 3 Drone Unbox and First Flight

This is not an expert tutorial, it is just my experience unboxing and flying this drone for the fist time. This DJI Mini 3 drone is excellent for a beginner who wants a great quality mini drone with an excellent gimbal camera. This is my third drone and the other two were mostly junk, but now I have something that is worth spending some time on improving my flying and video skills.
DJI Mini 3 Drone - Is it Relevant?
มุมมอง 1162 หลายเดือนก่อน
I'm still very much a beginner drone pilot, but this is my third drone. The first drone, Hubsan Zino, fell out of the sky twice and I sold it off as a parts drone. The second was a cheap Ferietelf B12 that I gave away. Hopefully, third time will be the charm and I can really gain some experience with this DJI Mini 3. It seems super easy to fly out of the box and so far the cameras and images se...

BeadPRO Motorcycle Tire Bead Breaker User Review
Totally got the wheel off no prob, but how would you squeeze the caliper to get it back ok the disc?
I have a large channel lock pliers that I normally use. I can't remember what that caliper looks like, but sometimes you can do it by sticking two screwdrivers, one on each side of the brake pads and gently pry them. It should not take much pressure to make the caliper move.
Maybe that's half the rattle that broken muffler bolt
@muzzleloader8189 Definitely a piece of the puzzle. After installing rocker lockers, lifters, pushrods, and a new exhaust clamp, it is still making some noise, so I'm trying to convince myself that it might be normal. 🤔
It's ten years since you made this video, but today this helped me a lot! Thank you for taking the time and making a good video that shows all the steps in detail! You a legend.
Oh man, thank you so much for that! This is one vehicle that I was privileged to work on, and the vid has stood the test of time. I'm super happy that it has helped so many people. Thanks!
The do have dipsticks.... on the tranny
I have a Police 2000 HD Road King , 35,000 miles, how long will I get out that MAG MARELLI EFI ?
It's hard to say...it could last the lifetime of the bike. If it's running good, I wouldn't mess with it. If you are having problems or looking to upgrade, then I would ditch it for a carb. However, the carb swap is neither easy or cheap.
Hello great video , Was wondering if you can post part number or name of the chrome head bolt adapters spacers you have on table which hose connect too i need a set, thks again
Hi, I think you might be referring to the Mikunu KHS-20 chrome breather kit. Please check that out and if its not what you are asking about, let me know.
@@busabobsgarage9876 Yes that will work thks again,
@scottmagyar Sure thing. By the way, the Kipa carb is doing well and I have no regrets buying the Mikunu clone. Good luck on your build.
Y did u not demo them?
I may make another demo vid, but i can tell you that the 705 is a better unit all the way around.
Thank you for posting. FYI, Cold Start: 1. set to Max Choke; 2. press Air Purge Bulb (x10) under the Carb; 3. set the cruise control level to fast idling; and 4, pull the starting cord. Once started, place the Choke level to the FULL OPEN.
nice job....
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome thank you🎉
Great review, thanks ..
Go with the 705...much better design.
Did he forget the outer bearing ?
get your head outta the wind man!!! lol great pass
I wish more events gave shirts for the 200 club. A certificate is cool but I wanna wear that accomplishment
@@matts4025 The only thing I have left is that shirt, some photos and some great memories, but it was a great journey and it was all worth it.
@@busabobsgarage9876 I spent a good amount of time watching your videos and I'm sure it was a blast! I'm on a mission to get the 200+ shirt from The Texas Mile. I bet the memories/experience was amazing and all worth it
Awesome job, Busa Bob! I'm a young unsponsored ultra light jockey in the PNW hoping to get out to the big events (texas mile, el mirage etc) if you have ANY leftover LSR parts you think could help me out, please let me know. I'll be running in the Factory Stock class and just looking to break some unofficial records if the wind gods allow
Hey Matt, Thanks for reaching out. A buddy of mine got me hooked on LSR back in 2012, and I did it for about 4-years. I picked up a couple sponsors, which basically discounted parts for me to build my machine...i was the mechanic, rider, etc. I built an awesome all motor 2005 busa that got me over the 200 mph mark multiple times. I accomplished my goal of 200 mph in the mile, sold the bike and hung up the leathers in 2015. Could I have gone faster? Sure, they say "how fast do you want your wallet to take you". Did I want to go faster? Maybe... The moral of the story...speed is addictive. If you have the need for speed, immerse yourself in the LSR community and learn from the guys and ladies who have been there. Most of all, be safe.
Excellent Video
Thank you very much!
Where can I get service manual
Honestly, I'm not sure. I think you can get a Haynes manual for general repairs, but not sure about a factory service manual.

The Mini 3 pro is still a great drone. I started with the original mavic mini, then bought the air 2 then the mini 3 pro then the mini 4 pro, and finally I just ordered the beast mavic 3 pro. I'm going to use it for commercial purposes but I'm super excited.
@@Canavan00 That’s awesome! I have no doubt that DJI is the best, and I have been working toward getting this one. Thanks for your comments.
What app do I need to download to use video on this drone?
I gave the drone to my son, but if I recall, all that was needed was the wifi connection, I'm not positive about the app.
Thank you!
lol I’m trying something with my mini 3 im going to put my mini 3 pro arms on the drone and see how it does!
That's interesting, why are you doing that?
nice
Just picked up one of these for my sportster. Sick of not being able to get my bike to run exactly right. Did you determine what that straight brass tube coming off the front is? None of the rubber plugs that came with this actually fit on it tight enough to keep it on and I don't think it should be left open but wondered what you've done with it? Hope this thing does well on my Hammer 1275 setup.
@XenaTheQuadCamBikah I can't recall, but you can download the Mikunu hrs42 tuning manual and it will tell you exactly what each port is and how to set up your carb. This KIPA seems like an exact copy of the Mikunu.
I have been running the carb for months now with no issues except it's set up a little rich and I'm okay with that.
Any pros with the intake
Usually, intake and exhaust is the best bang for the buck in terms of performance. If you are planning other performance mods, it's probably worth doing the CAI, but I'm going to say here that any gains from the CAI by itself are probably minimal. If you are on a budget, you might be just as well served with a fresh air filter or upgrade to a K&N filter.
Yes, I'm still loving the truck, and no regrets about any of the mods that I have done.
If I use a single fire coil and an after market ingnition like the dynatech do I need the wiring harness.
When I say aftermarket ignition I mean the one that goes in the cam cover
First, you have to make sure that the ignition that you select can be set up and wired for single fire if that is the type of coil that you plan to run. I'm sure there is a way to wire and connect it without the harness, but you may have to splice in your VOES and any other required connections. There are probably a few different ways to "skin the cat". The best advice that I can give you is to download the wiring diagram for the carbureted version of your bike and the wiring diagram for the ignition module that you plan to use and go from there. You literally have to connect the dots and figure out what you are going to use to make the connections. If you are not comfortable with wiring, then the pre-made harness is the way to go.
I believe that there are some other guys who have done this and have spliced into the existing FI harness. Search for Magneti Marelli conversion.
What coil did you use?
I went with a single fire Ultima coil that I found on ebay.
Thank you for responding. What year and bike did you get the wiring harness off of. Thanks again. Great video that a lot of us marelli people need to see.
@ARGOSCUSTOMS Regarding the harness, I believe the one that I got from ebay was from a carbureted 97 FLHR. The wiring diagram should call out the HD part number for the harness. If you can't find an original harness, you could go two ways in my opinion: 1) Use the original FI harness and buy the mating Deutsch connectors and pins...in other words, make one out of your existing harness, or 2) I believe that there is a company called Namz that makes a replacement harness for the carbureted bikes. You may be lucky enough to find an OEM harness from a HD boneyard somewhere, but they may want to sell you the entire harness and not just the section for the ignition.
Mine had the same exact problem which is due to chain slap because the spring pressure in the tensioner is too weak. I made a 6mm spacer to increase the spring pressure to prevent chain slap before the oil pressure fills the tensioner.
Correction. The crank position sensor ?
You don't need the crank position sensor for the carb conversion.
@@busabobsgarage9876 ok. thank you for the reply. im having a difficult time finding videos with the wiring for the stand alone ignitions. IE what is needed and what can be deleted.
@joe-iz9zr If you have the ignition that goes inside the cam nose cone, then you put that in place of your cam position sensor, but you will have to find some wiring instructions. Even if it's a cheap eBay ignition, there has to be a wiring diagram.
What did you end up doing with the Cam position sensor wiring ?
I kept the cam position sensor, but didn't need the crank position sensor.
I'm not sure if that answers the question, but the wire terminations can be removed from the 3-pin Deutsch connector. I believe that I removed the old wire shield and used new shrink tube, then reinstalled back in the connector and routed along the bottom frame tube.
18 ft lb torque on that oil drain plug
@@simonsrattanroom Thanks
You made it look easy. Is this something someone could do in their driveway pretty simply? I'm not someone who can't change a tire but I do know how to use my physical key. lol
Just some simple hand tools. Just use caution not to short the positive battery terminal to any ground or metal on the frame or engine .
I want to install a leveling kit in mine. I'm a diy'er, but I don't want to go through all the labor
Great Video. Just did this myself. Mine took a bit more to separate off the gear though.
I'm glad that it helped you. It's been quite a few years since I put my hands on that bike.
You don't even need to pull the wheels. You can use a 21mm open-end shortie. Its about a 1hr job.
Boring
For me its a 3M complete hood, spray in bed liner, heated seats for the -40 canadian winters, mud flaps and backup camera. Xpel or 3m on all 4 doors like my last one and the door jams will be done. Weather tech mats too. Wool wax or Fluid film underneath & the wheel wells of death that tend to get rust or chips. Putting big moose/ grille rack on the truck too, $1500-1800 rack.
@@Oldwestgunner now those are some serious upgrades 🫡
Very informative video
16:46 hey bob great video …. Where did u find the wiring harness.. heard u say ebay .. but didn’t hear a name or site .. gonna do the swap and that harness will surely heip
Thanks for the feedback. I was lucky to find a good used harness on ebay for a carbureted bike. I think they are getting a bit scarce because there were only so many carbureted bikes built and that Harley part is now discontinued. I believe that some of the other folks are getting new harness from a company called Namz?
Yeah I in my 3rd time .. because using the wrong torque wrench.. I hope I got it right now , bout to find out soon as new gas line and petcock comes
It sucks doing stuff a second and third time, but I guess that's how we learn from mistakes. You're an expert now for sure!
Cover came out fine. Just need to pull the sides out a bit. Overall, it was an easy 5 minute job. 9 screws in total. I have the exact same bike.
5-minute job LOL...it always took me like an hour! Unfortunately, now I have a worse situation with my 2019 KTM 1290 SAR. I have to remove the entire gas tank to get at the air filter...they fixed that on newer models, but WTF are these guys thinking for serviceability...it really drives me crazy!
Is it ok to use an impact if not replacing the stator - i mean i've read somewhere its not good for it? - but im no expert, just trying to prepare for this job myself. Your videos are very helpful so far, is it correct that i hear you say 1-1/2 socket and 1-1/4 for the clutch?
Not sure why an impact would be an issue. Yes, 1-1/2" and 1-1/4".
@filmfreaken I hope I mentioned in the vid, but I want to warn you that the clutch hub bolt is left handed. For this one it will be righty loosey, lefty tighty. Something to be aware of, or you will be cranking on that bolt all day if you are not going the right way.
I have a set of these getting delivered tomorrow. I can't wait to get them. I think the reason the buckles are 2 each way is that it is protection against not having some obstruction or accident rip them all open facing the same direction. The "replaceable insert" is removed with heat, peeled away and a new one is glued in place. Actually, the entire heel of the boot can be removed the same way and replaced so long as you don't wear it down into the boot itself. I think to have the whole heel done you have to send it in. Or you can send them to MX Boot repair and they will do it for like $200.
That makes sense on the buckles. I'm getting ready to really test these boots on the NORCAL BDR. I guess the biggest concern will be wearing them all day, multiple days, in the heat. I suppose it would be the same concern with any boot.
I'm about to order these...would you say they fit true to size?
Sounds normal to me.
Wrap some Aluminum foil around the pipe it will help keep it clean.
I want to see it in action, no words.
Thanks for that feedback. You may want to watch my comparison on the PCL704 vs 705. I honestly believe that the 705 does a pretty good job of addressing some inherent design issues with the 704. I agree that I have too much talk and little action in this vid.
@@busabobsgarage9876 Thanks a lot!
Sweet ride brother ! If you don't mind me asking what brand and size apes are you running
Thanks for the compliment! The bars were on the bike when I got it, but I will say that they are perfect fit for me as a rider. I took some quick measurements, and it looks like 16" rise and 16" spacing.
Did it work? I have a truck that has like big pores in the gaskets and been thinking about jb weld bcuz my old engine trashed due to that intake i get coolant in the oil and damager the pistons an kranck bearings
It worked for my application. It sounds like you have some pretty serious issues going on there, so you will have to decide if you want to take a chance on this or another method.
Can you make it fly indoors? ( i know it's not a good idea) my understanding is that it needs the gps connection to be able to take off
I would not advise trying to fly it inside, unless you are able to control the takeoff, landing, flight, and you don't have anything that you are not prepared to break or injure. 😂
Thanks
