Magnifique! That is my watch which I bought new in 1985 and have worn nearly daily for 40 years. It runs beautifully today! Thank you for the video, sir!
Thanks FWC. This is an AMAZING watch. It was running pretty much perfectly at the start (ignoring the issue with the hands) and after a full service the it was spot on. That's incredible. My only issue with Rolex watches is their flashiness. But you can't fault the accuracy.
Bonjour, my brother has the same almost Rolex, his dial and bezel is blue. Very beautiful watch, however, I feel my Tudor collection is just as nice. I totally enjoy your work, video, narration etc. Thank you and Merci !!
Excellent work. I really enjoyed this service. Thank you for all you do, I hope you are feeling better and yes, I was wondering about the RB as well and found info on Rolex Bienne. Thank you from Arizona.
I saw that on 38:17 you are putting oil directly through the jewel hole without disassembling the jewel cap assembly. So the surface tension will prevent this tiny amount of oil stored in the jewel assembly to escape through the same hole when the watch is worn and subjected to vibrations ?
Great video as always! What is the gray pen-like tool you use? The one lying next to the Bergeon logotype at 7:00 minutes. Do you know where to buy it?
great job sir, I think but don't know for sure the letters are date codes or batch numbers I know this is the case for some makers but not sure about Rolex but there for a reason. Andy UK.
What a treat: two of your excellent videos in such a short time! Thank you very much: 👌👍👏! And while I am not a Rolex fan at all, they at least have kept some standard when it comes to watch-making (unlike TAGHeuer, IWC or Panerai -🤪🤮- to name just a few of the really bad ones).
d'ailleur j'ai cru comprendre que tu étais très fan des Tudor. Je suis horloger chez Kenissi (la manuf qui fabrique les calibres pour Tudor) Si tu as des questions hésite pas !
Hello, Regarding the RB mark, this auction notice, "ROLEX “White gold Prototype”, Oyster Perpetual Date, Submariner, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified, Ref. 1680, movement no. D701771, no serial number, circa 1973", claims it stands for -- Rolex Bienne. Wikipedia says Rolex has a factory in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Apparently Rolex has been using the designation for quite a while; here's an old 17 jewel movement, found on the "Watch Guy Watch repair blog" which has the RB stamping. So, yeah, I really can't say the mystery is solved, but it some fun and light research on a Saturday afternoon, so time well spent. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for the information. It is right that when I went to Bienne there is a very big Rolex factory. Can be the reason of the code for Rolex Bienne
mamacoo You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Superbe, je voudrais vous confier ma Submariner pour un service, avez vous le temps? J'ai vu vos tarifs sur le site pour les automatiques, ce sont des tarifs indicatifs ou cela dépend de la marque?
This is probably a dumb question, but I’ll ask it anyway. Wouldn’t plastic tools (instead of metal) be better for avoiding scratching anything? If not, why is metal used so much?

Beautiful attention to detail. Excellent rebuild.

Yes the oil in the jewel for the balance assembly is like a pocket. It will lubricate the balance staff constantly even under shocks

This is an horotec probe tool. I bought it on cousin uk

Nice one indeed

C'est pareil sur la GMT II ?
Oui l'aiguille est bien au dessus. Pareil sur la GMT II

Bonjour Merci beaucoup. Oui je peux faire votre submariner. Les tarifs sont indicatifs. Pour une submariner cela est autour de 350€
I wish I could have one but I'm poor and can't have one but I'm still going to get a plastic watch 😞⌚
This is probably a dumb question, but I’ll ask it anyway. Wouldn’t plastic tools (instead of metal) be better for avoiding scratching anything? If not, why is metal used so much?
Plastic will not be strong enough. After like my brass tweezers it is soft enough
How was your Hibernation ;)
Interesting
