So I just finished cleaning my kitchen after feeding my family this exact meal..this dish was super easy to make and the results were outstanding! My kids and husband were mainly silent whilst eating because they were too busy lapping up the food..however the only thing that kept getting repeated by them all was “oh man this is delicious” “mommy this is sooo tasty” so thank you for sharing this exquisite family gem!
Ahh I'm so happy to hear that you made the Jeera chicken and loved it! It really is a remarkable dish and you simply won't find this recipe anywhere. It used to be a sell-out dish when we had our restaurant and I'm sure you can understand why as it is absolutely delicious! My family and I are so happy to hear that you enjoyed it! We hope you enjoy our other recipes too and our daily videos. Best wishes 😊
As a British born Punjabi Kenyan I know this is a dish only certain families know about. I’m going to make this dish very soon. Thank you for sharing this recipe
This was absolutely amazing - I did make adjustments the second time - added another 2 tbsp of jeera because we love the jeera taste, it's never overpowering - also possible our jeera batch isn't the freshest and lost some of it's hit. We also added a couple more tomatoes (to create a little more sauce), added more green chilli's and omitted the red chilli powder, and we blitzed in fresh garlic and ginger - made for a very very slightly more peppery taste and the garlic and ginger came through more (always a symptom of using paste - for weekday convenience, paste all the way, but for weekend cooking, fresh stuff does make a difference). This is the beauty of eastern dishes, slight tweaks to adapt texture/taste and also depending on available cooking time. The recipe itself is gold dust, tried quite a few others and they just weren't the same as this even before the small mods, and also not as easy to do (one-pot style). I've also made it with breast pieces too (marinaded in some salt and fresh lemon beforehand to help keep tender) and that is where this recipe works so well - my partner isn't a fan of boned chicken but boned is easier to cook with and stays tender - breast is really tricky to get tender (quality of breast also plays a factor). Thanks for the recipe - it's become our staple jeera chicken method!

You cooked this amazing dish with a turn for me without any added salt, I cooked this item so many times when I was in Tanzania way back. My secret of this dish is boiled or steam the chicken first for the faster the process.
Initially I was skeptical about this recipe seeing all that black pepper and zeera. But i made it today and it turned out beautiful restaurant like. My mom loved it. This dish has no onions, no added water, no tomato paste, no turmeric, no garam.masala and is certainly a winning simple dish. So I guess the spices even out. I would make it again for sure. I made it with chicken thighs and drumstick pieces.
Ahh that's amazing! We're so glad you made our favourite recipe! Indeed very few ingredient but so full of flavour. We're so happy that you're making our recipes and enjoying them. It really makes our day 😊

Just came back here to say, thank you so much for shearing this recipe.!! I just made it and I could not stop eating it, so so delicious 🤤 thank you again.

I have made this before and it was delicious. I was wondering how many people does 1kg of wings feed? Also if I wanted to make 2 kg worth can I just double the recipe?
I made these jeera chicken wings, Don Imran’s restaurant style. It looked exactly like yours and tasted very good too. Everyone in my family enjoyed so much. The only thing i used little less was that black pepper powder as I mentioned earlier. Next time i will try to cook with exactly how much you recommend and see if it tastes very hot or not.
Ahh that is absolutely wonderful to hear that you made the recipe and your family enjoyed it too! It makes my family and I so so happy to hear that! Please do try it with the extra black pepper as it isn't as hot as you might think and it really does elevate the flavour! It is definitely one of the top three dishes in our household and up until this video it was a closely guarded secret recipe too. We hope you and your family continue to enjoy this and our other recipes too :)
I plan on making this very soon. It looks great and the comments are so positive. Landed on your channel when I was looking for masala chips recipe. I’ve liked and subscribed. Thank you!
Found the quantities (how much methi, coriander) and heat levels a little difficult to follow, but very pleased with the result. Tastes and looks like a restaurant prepared dish. Interesting to see how a thick sauce can be produced without a lot of onion or other vegetables in the base.
Aaaahhaa!! Finally got the time to see your most recommended video (By the original chef himself - your Dad). Whom i met in a train while he was travelling back home. He did talk about jeera chicken a lot and also how proud he is of his kids and this channel of yours. After watching this video i am definitely planning to try it out and will let you know how it turns out. Give your Dad my regards and yess you just got one more subscriber in India now. Cheers!!
Ahh that's great you've seen our favourite recipe recommended (and yes originally made) by my dad. That's amazing that you met him on the train - unfortunately, his flight got cancelled so he is still there. Dad sends his regards to you. We hope you do get to try out this incredible recipe and we look forward to hearing how you found it. So happy to hear that you've subscribed thank you. Have a great day and hope you continue to enjoy our recipes!
Hi Imran. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe. Wondering if you have tweaked it at all in the last 2 years? And if yes, what changes you made? Also, assuming you meant to say cook the chicken for 30-40 mins on low heat right once bubbling (thought i heard you say 10 mins but the text says otherwise). Big thanks!
Yesterday I cooked Jeera Chicken according to your recipe. It turned out so well that everyone liked it and want to repeat next week. I made it with chicken thighs and legs. Will I get the same taste and results if I use chicken breast ? (to be a little more health conscious) Thanks!
Ahh that sounds amazing. We're so happy that you tried our favourite recipe ever and enjoyed it! We have always made it with chicken wings, but I don't see why you won't get the same fantastic flavour with chicken breast too. I'm sure it will taste great 👍 Hope you're enjoying our recipes - have a great day!

I definitely know that this is in my top three of all time dishes, but we have sooooo many incredible recipes in our household that choosing the other two as favourites is difficult. That is quite interesting that you use just chicken wings to make jeera chicken.. the chicken looks absolutely delicious and flavourful ! Wow I sure am very hungry now ! I think i took a bite off my phone 😋😋
Assalam Alaikum. I made this tonight to have with lentils and some veg. Oh my god, seriously my taste buds were having a party in my mouth. So much flavour and really was easy to make. Thank you for sharing this recipe it's definitely going to be a regular in my kitchen 🙂
Hey Imran, many thanks for this recipe. I've been waiting for this recipe for many years since I was lucky enough to sample it. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙏🧘♂️👍
@@imran.familykitchen Hi Imran, fantastic recipe. Didn't quite replicate the fantastic taste that I experienced when your Dad cooked it many years ago! Had to use chilli power instead of Kashmiri and crushed fenugreek seeds instead of kasuri methi. Anyway, sure I'll nail it sometime soon. Many thanks for all your fantastic recipes over the last few weeks. Good work 🙏🧘♂️👍
@@darenkitching1156 Hey Daren, ahh that's great that you made the Jeera Chicken. It's one of those dishes that you never forget the taste even if you had it many years ago! It's ok to substitute chili powder instead of Kashmiri chili, the later is not as hot as chili powder and gives a deeper colour, so it's best to add according to how hot you'd like it. We wouldn't substitute crushed fenugreek seeds for the kasuri methi though as that would give a completely different flavour (even though they are the same plant). Instead, we would just omit the methi if you don't have any. I'm sure you'll get there next time you try! Thanks so much for your support, encouragement and kind words! 🙏
@@imran.familykitchen Hi Imran, managed to source some Kasuri methi. Very happy with the outcome of jeera chicken. Also tried the coriander and mint chutney, very tasty indeed. Thankyou so much for your efforts. Good work fella. Thanks

Thanks so much for the wonderful feedback and we're so glad you enjoyed our favourite recipe!
Thank you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Amazing recipe! Tried it for the first time and it was very good. Thanks Don Imran!
You're welcome! So glad you enjoyed our favourite recipe!
Loving this.
Thank you! It's our favourite dish ever!
Jeera chicken has become our family favourite now thanks to you Imran
Keep it up with delicious recipes🤩
You're very welcome. We're so glad to hear you enjoyed our favourite recipe 😊
Found the quantities (how much methi, coriander) and heat levels a little difficult to follow, but very pleased with the result. Tastes and looks like a restaurant prepared dish. Interesting to see how a thick sauce can be produced without a lot of onion or other vegetables in the base.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback!
Made this today. My family loved it and honestly it’s the best chicken I’ve ever had and made so thank you. Subscribing to your channel 😌
Awesome! Thank you!

Thank you so much for your kind words and support 👍
Big thanks!
Will defo have a go.. in Sha Allah
Insha Allah - hope you enjoy this recipe :)
Absolutely Bullit Jeera Chicken 🐔 😋

Those look packed with flavor. Great herbs and seasoning. Love how tender it looks.
It was super delicious!
I'm sure it will taste great 👍 Hope you're enjoying our recipes - have a great day!
jeera chicken is the best ever 💖💖
Thank you! It absolutely is - that's why it used to be a sell-out dish in our restaurant. It's incredibly delicious 😋
Just making it now! Smells great. I make something similar but don't add tomatoes or methi. This is next level. How can I share a photo? Thx
Ahh that sounds amazing - this really is a next level dish (as you can see from all the comments from our viewers who have made it). It used to be a super hit in our restaurant and I'm sure you enjoyed it too! You can share a photo to our FB page (Don Imran Family Kitchen) or tag us on our instagram (donimranfamilykitchen). Have a fabulous day!

Thank you so much! It was so delicious 😋
Yummy 😋 will definitely try it out soon 😊
Cooked it. Turned out delicious. Thank you.
I was wondering what are your two other family favourites? You mentioned three in total that were the most popular ones. Thank you.
Ahh thank you so much for your wonderful comments and for trying out this incredible recipe. My family and I are so happy to hear that you enjoyed it! I definitely know that this is in my top three of all time dishes, but we have sooooo many incredible recipes in our household that choosing the other two as favourites is difficult. I know that I love tandoori chicken, raan biryani, aloo gosht, coconut fish curry, poussin chicken, keema roti, achari daal (we have all these recipes on our channel). We have over 200 amazing recipes on our channel and many of them were really popular when we had our restaurant. What is your favourite dish? Please let us know if you have any requests and thank you again for your kind comment 😊

@@imran.familykitchen I did try and it turned out to be really nice Karibu
I love this type of chicken, looks so rich in flavor, so nice! Don't know much about Moroccan food but this sure looks great to me! It must be a comfort food 👍👍
I meant Kenyan food, I'm sorry 😟
It's so good! Really flavoursome and delicious. It used to be a complete sell-out dish when we had our family restaurant.
@@imran.familykitchen I wouldn't call this Kenyan food, seems more South Asian. Zeera/Jeera Chicken is a common dish served on menus in India.
so i’ve made this and it looks and smells amazing but i’m fasting so can’t taste test till 6pm. in sha allah it tastes as good as it smells and looks 😋
That sounds awesome! I hope you enjoyed it InshaAllah
Tried it out and it turned out to be one of the best jeera chicken ever
Ahh that's amazing! My family and I are so happy to hear that you tried it and enjoyed it. It really is the best Jeera recipe that you will ever find. It used to be a complete sell-out when we had our restaurant. You simply won't find this recipe anywhere. If you have any recipe requests then please feel free to let us know 😃
@@imran.familykitchen Please keep up the good work. I'm from Kenya as well but live in Switzerland since 30 years so I have to cook the curries myself and had to start from scratch. Did you have your restaurant in Kenya?
@@anwartufail1888 I love Switzerland, it's such a beautiful country. Our restaurant was in London. My dad's from Kenya and it is his famous recipe which he never shared with anyone until now - we're all really glad that you enjoyed it and thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm sure you'd love it! It's really delicious indeed!
That is quite interesting that you use just chicken wings to make jeera chicken.. the chicken looks absolutely delicious and flavourful ! Wow I sure am very hungry now ! I think i took a bite off my phone 😋😋
Thank you so much! It is soooo delicious indeed! Haha love your comment about taking a bite off your phone! Did it taste good? Ha

Hey Imran, many thanks for this recipe. I've been waiting for this recipe for many years since I was lucky enough to sample it. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙏🧘♂️👍
My pleasure 😊 Do let us know how it turns out when you make it!
Thanks
@@darenkitching1156 Hi Darren, sorry I missed this comment. I'm so happy to hear that you managed to find the kasuri methi and were happy with the Jeera Chicken. Dad is happy to hear that too! You're very welcome. Feel free to let us know if you have any recipe requests 😊
