So damn sick of serious criminals with multiple convictions constantly being released from prison and going on to harm other people if law enforcement was more serious about doing its job this wouldn't be happening and its so infuriating that it does
The degradation of the legal system WORLD WIDE is no accident.
Don’t blame law enforcement (I’m not a LEO) blame catch and release courts and woke parole boards.
If he’d had some crack, he’d never have gotten out.
@@PierreLamy-t1hyou’re brainwashed. Violent offenders don’t make good cheap labor in prisons. Drug offenders do.
I agree that’s it’s extremely frustrating that these lifelong criminals are being released over and over again. However, law enforcement has nothing to do with whether or not someone is released early, is given a plea, etc. That lies solely on the courts, lawyers, and parole boards. Plus, the legislature and the state’s laws definitely slowed down being able to identify and arrest her murderer. It’s a broken system.
He molested a child and got a misdemeanor? That kid deserved better justice than that. Hell, all of these women did.
Washington State, bro. Land of nuts.
It's hard not to think of how many people would still be alive, women especially, if the criminal system took rape as seriously other crimes.
I honestly believe it’s not taken more seriously because those who made the laws are also rapists, or they have those tendencies.
I just said the same thing. So tired of it being seen as some sort of mistake made by otherwise solid dudes, and really sick of hearing this exact sentiment expressed by judges during sentencing. For fuck's sake.
Almost any other crime, the attitude is that, "you did the crime, you do the time." Sexual offenses against women? Ha. "What were you wearing? How much did you have to drink? Are you sure you didn't secretly want to have sex with him? How _strongly_ did you say no?" etc etc. And let's not forget, "He's: a family man/outstanding citizen/BMOC/really great guy when he hasn't been drinking/had a difficult time since he lost his job." etc etc Ok, detective, how does any of that absolve him from having COMMITTED A VIOLENT CRIME? Would any of that absolve him if he'd robbed a bank? Sh0t someone? Kill€d someone? NO????? NONE OF THAT ABSOLVES ANYONE FROM HAVING R*PED A PERSON, EITHER.
Yes! There's a strong strand woven into our culture that says violence against women is normal -- that women exist to be expendable commodities for men.
the police need to do more to protect women
So infuriating that her murder never should've happened. Thanks, HC.
It's baffling how many times these predators re-offend over and over again and only get a slap on the wrist; only to move on to a more gruesome crime.
He literally should have gotten life after the second offense.
WTH is up with our "justice" system?
The US doesn’t treat violence against women and children seriously.
Criminals run it.
Tell me about it! He got way too many chances which ultimately led to poor Sarah's death. 😓 Absolutely unforgivable.
Yet people who commit things like fraud once get 25-40 years!!! Apparently money is worth more than people’s especially woman’s lives.
I recently watched a documentary called "The 11". The murderer and serial rapist was arrested so many times on indecent exposure, attempted rape, and rape. he killed 11 girls, probably more, just sickening.
I lived in Federal Way Washington when Sarah was murdered. Changed how we allowed our daughters were allowed to go out
I was living in Federal Way too, at that time and remember this so well. So sad, I am glad justice has been served, but sorry it took so long. RIP Sarah.
Aggravated rape should be a life sentence because of the damage done to the victim
Rape essentially murders who you were before, and should be charged more seriously
Any rape is aggravating!
IDK why violent crimes are eligible for reduced sentences or good time. pisses me off these rapists, abusers and kidnappers always get time shaved off for some reason. the justice system empathizes with them?
That is exactly what I think! Someone in system is an abuser, rapist, etc., themselves.
Violent crimes against women and children isn’t taken seriously.
Well said
There should be no such thing as time off or reduced sentencing. Here in Australia if you’re sentenced to 10 years you do the entire 10 years. No good behaviour time nothing. And if you mess up inside, then you just do the rest of your parole period. Good behaviour is expected of you. Not bargained from you.
And where is the empathy for the victims from the justice system? They go to prison because they wronged someone in a horrendous way. How does that person feel about that punishment being reduced?? Why does the justice system prioritize the feelings of the offender?
I was in high school in the 90’s too, and it’s insane how if she had gotten to school just an hour later when she was supposed to, she most likely would’ve never crossed paths with that horrific criminal. The brazen way he must’ve approached her in broad daylight with the intent to rape and kill?! I can’t wrap my mind around it. How terrified she must’ve been. Thank god justice has at least finally been served. I hope he has a very painful time behind bars.
Go ask your Comrades Whats it's like to Think in that Manner. 🤔 don't they think it's OK...
@@dstaff7373 go ask ya boy Netanyahu, sucker
Both of you should do all of us a favour and shut up about screwed up politicians/tyrants . Have some common respect let alone your common sense can't seem to work
These cold cases are so compelling to watch, yet they always fill me with dread, knowing that some bright, attractive young person's life was cut short and that her, or his, killer remained free and unidentified for so long.
I get the sentiment, but kind of odd to say attractive. What does being attractive have to do with it?
@@username-mk4qv Youth, hope for the future, innocence and attractiveness, all destroyed. What about objecting to "bright" or "young"?
This case always hits me hard-she was just a year older than me (I graduated in 1994) and I was on Drill Team in HS. I am now almost 48, married w/3 kids, 1 grandchild. That sick SOB robbed the world of an amazing young lady who would of made this world a better place 😢 RIP Sarah 😢
😢😢😢
the police need to do more to protect women
@@DBpsychologyjudges and parole boards….most are woke:….
Release them all they say!
How terrible. Why can't people just leave other people alone?
Wow those kids' description for the suspect drawing was spot on.
And yet again, its the court system that failed, time and time again
This has to be one of the best channels on you tube. So empathetic and excellently presented. Surprised there hasn't been anything new for a while. I hope you haven't stopped.
Past behavior predicts future behavior. So many failures😢. I'm sorry this happened. So much pain this monster caused. Thinking of her family today. ❤❤❤
Am very happy these cold cases are finally being solved but very mad they were committed in the first place.
This music is perfect for this video much better then the upbeat one ❤
I think so too and think it's the perfect background for all these videos. I never get tired of hearing it on this channel
Wow the sketch comparison to his mugshot is insanely accurate!
Always good to see a case solved after so long but unfortunately it also means that someone got away with the crime for equally as long and will never recieve a sufficient punishment for it
So this man got 10 years for what he did but they let him go after only 3 years?? If he was never released, poor Sarah would have been alive today. What a disgrace to have this man walk around freely allowing him to commit horrific crime which could have been prevented quite easily! I feel so bad for Sarah's family. They were robbed off their loved one, her graceful presence and her affection for them which can never be compensated but I hope they find some comfort knowing her murderer got what he deserved! In my book, the guy deserves worst but justice system is a joke so there's that.
Payriarchy society alk for men bs
She was beautiful, smart and kind. She was a bright light in our WORLD. He was none of those things, but he ripped all that away. He did not just steal her LIFE...he stole from the children she could have had, and all the people she could have helped along the way.
He was someone who splashed darkness wherever he went. His history says Guilty with a capital G.
They dont take rape as seriously as they should.
❤ LOVE the narrator’s soothing calming voice ❤❤
Another great video. I've been waiting for one to drop. Thank you for your wonderful interpretation of these cases. This is my favorite channel.
The US needs a great overhaul of their justice system. Needs to take cases where the victims are women more seriously. Needs to take cases of familial abuse where children are the victims more seriously. Needs to learn to take in exterior factors, such as if someone was stealing to feed themselves or their family. Such as if untreated mental health that could have been treated was the reason someone did something they did. Such as if the perpetrator was a victim of a life that society forced them into, that no one would choose if they had actual freedom.
But it would seem this man was not that. That this man, in full sanity and mental health, decided to be a monster. And he was let go. Cases that would have never happened if mental health were taken seriously, if poverty were taking seriously, get treated like serial killers. And this man was let go, let go to continue enacting his own selfish desires that hurt people. The US justice and prison systems need an overhaul, for this is the only kind of person a system that takes away human rights should exist for, and they let him go.
Examples need to be made. There is no such thing as "rehabilitation" for such crimes, as other comments have pointed out. Prison Should be Punishment.
I haven't watched true crime channels in a while but I have to say your channel is very nice. And kind of soothing? Not the stories of course but how you narrate. And it's straight to the point telling people's stories. Keep up the good work
In interviews with Drew you can tell he was completely traumatized by this and finally has had some relief.
I love the way you explain who the victims were in life...also you are so descriptive. She would have been an amazing lady.
Many criminals have good behavior in a controlled environment. Good behavior in prison should not shorten sentences rape or violent offenses. Prison officials need rewards to make prisoners behave, but the rewards should be free phone calls to family, home cooked food from volunteers, gift certificates etc instead of getting out early. The older the criminal, the less likely he is to commit violent offenses.
Loved that the cold cases are being solved
I hope you don't give up on this channel. You are very talented and look forward to your videos. You are very good at what you do!!
What a piece of Garbage!!! How many violent crimes do you have to commit before you’re thrown away for good? The knowledge that this precious young girl is with Jesus is the only comfort family and friends have had all these years. Hopefully he’s off the streets for good this time but I wouldn’t bet on it. Pathetic ‘injustice’ system we have.
"Vote blue no matter who" has consequences
“She was a member of The Safety Kids, a dance group encouraging kids not to abuse drugs or alcohol”. Lol bless her little heart!
Whoever released that excuse of a human being has blood on their hands
"Vote blue no matter who" has consequences. You can deny reality, but you cant deny the consequences of denying reality
It is absolutely heartbreaking to think what she could have done with her life. Rest in peace, sweet girl.
I just think it’s crazy how these ppl really go all these years being guilty of killing & raping someone & not even caring? Not to mention, imagine how many killers and/or rapists u have walked pass on the streets. It’s truly terrifying.
That man has been a danger to all women, probably since he was a young teenager and has no doubt committed many more crimes than he has been identified for. Thank goodness for DNA.
Shame, shame Washington state. When it comes to getting convictions for sexual crimes you are the worst😢
Love your channel. ❤
Oh I so love this beautiful piece of background music!👍 It would be so appropriate for ALL your videos.❤
I love it too! I hate the other background music she uses😂
When criminals are given more consideration than their victims.
Every single case anymore.
This is the kind of sentence that happens all the time in the UK, the prisons are full, sex offenders being released early. Its a absolute mess.
When I watch these videos it is both heartbreaking and gratifying. Finally some closure for the families but also how sometimes the clues are missed in the original cases which would have saved or brought to justice the perpetrators long ago.
Why was this man ever in society and then to keep being released?
@traybernretard
Beautiful memorial, the bench with the ballet shoes, books n dog.
Fantastic job in this video, and on this case. Your compassion for the victims and their families, and the thorough, detailed context you provide is invaluable. Rest in peace, Sarah.
Brilliant reporting as always
The sooner people come to realize they are their own first responder, and must be an active participant in their own rescue, the better off the world will be.
Heart Wrenching, tragic, and unnecessary loss...
Strange the perp was just hanging around a school parking lot on a cold Saturday morning, hoping (?), expecting a vulnerable young woman/girl would just happen to show up alone and that no one else would be around.
Obviously, if she had shown up a little before 9 am, others on her drill team (and parents, the drill team leaders, the bus driver, etc.) would have been there.
Maybe he was awaiting a lone jogger? One tends to think you’re safe after sunrise, but there’s been many of attacks on morning joggers.
@sunshine3914 It still seems strange that he'd wait there at that time. Maybe he had cased the joint, believing that a lone female jogger or walker would pass through because they had done so before, but it seems to be a stretch. Maybe it was just a bad coincidence.
Rest in Peace Sarah, gone too soon.
Great channel
Kudos to the boys for the sketches.
There was a rape case in Ft. Lauderdale where the defense was the dress the victim wore made her irresistible. 😮 The prosecutor wore the exact same dress for closing arguments. Victim was 22. Lawyer was 60. She simply asked if this dress was asking all men to rape her why was she unmolested? He went to prison for a looking time. Justice wins sometimes. 🎉
I've missed you and I'm glad to see a new episode from you. And this one was crazy to me! I mean, fathers, sons abd brothers in the system so they can compare DNA between family members. Fascinating. I am glad that they found Sarah's killer.
What a slap in the face to the 10-year-old girl whom he SA’d, and the two victims before her, that that monster was released early.
How many repeat offenses need to happen before courts realize that SO *do not change!* And even if they did, why should they not suffer lifelong consequences for their actions? Their victims have to suffer lifelong consequences for their actions, the perps should too.
Sarah would be alive had he not been released. Gross failure of “justice.”
You can touch women and children, but had he touched someone’s money, he would never have been released early.
What's the background song name?
Me again ! I am traveling now as I'm older and wanted to go to Washington state. Now I will not spend one single red cent in this state. I'm so friggin mad with every single second of this story. This poor family. Destruction that could've been avoided, ugggggg. Sorry but I've never heard of this case and I'm 😠 😡
What I don't understand is how there are people sentenced to life in prison for non-violent drug offenses because of three-strike rules; and yet somehow a man convicted of rape and molesting a child is only sentenced to 45 years. Why even sentence him to 10 years for the rape if he's only going to serve 1/3 of it. I realize at his age the 45 years is more than likely a life sentence but it's the principle.
Don’t include drugs when pushing for predators to get longer sentencing.
It reveals the “legalize all drugs everywhere” agenda being pushed by those same individuals who are installing DA’s and Judges to go easy on these worthless pieces of 💩
R.I.P. Sarah
UN FRIGGIN REAL IS ALL I CAN SAY!!! I HOPE THE PARENTS SUED THIS INCOMPETENT JUSTICE SYSTEM. HEARTBREAKING AND MADDENING AT THE SAME DAMN TIME
When will enough be enough?
The justice system fails us once again.
It won’t stop. Our system is being turned inside out with judges and DA’s being put into positions of power by some with outside influence and $$.
Setting them up to implement the destruction of our societal fabric.
Overcrowding of the prison system (due to the over policing of drugs) is what caused/causes criminals to get released early. They can be “good” in prison because the only thing you cant smuggle in are women and children.
But how is that an excuse to release _violent_ criminals?
Thank you very much
Thank you HC. Thank God they finally got that monster. I agree totally. Our "justice system" is broken. Was it ever not? Certain pathways of learning and using tech etc were just... bypassed. And intelligent, good people are zalways trying to catch up and get on the right road. Trouble is there are still alot of those old school good ole boy judges and lawyers controlling things. I hope she is at peace now and the others hurt by this creep can rest as well. He shouldn't be allowed to waste anymore time or taxpayer money.🤬🙏🏼💔🕊️
How effed up...ten years? Released after 3? Sickening. He murdered her.
Having close family that were friends of Sara, these crimes have enormous effects on all involved for a lifetime.
Judgement will be the Lord's.
The sickening trend in a lot of the stories you showcase is that the judicial system messed up by giving them such lenient sentences for these heinous crimes and allowing these men to not complete their sentences in their entirety. And a slap on the wrist for repeat offenses. This could have all been prevented. I hate it!
How did a convicted criminal get 10 years for both rape and murder???
13:13 - wonder what he got up to in those 10 years he had spare...🤬
Don't be a jerk and commit any crimes and you have nothing to worry about. Washington should be ashamed of their state!
This is what Soft On Crime causes. Vote for Tough On Crime politicians/officials.
Next time go vote think about the young woman.
How infuriating 😡
The judge and defense attorney involved in these cases, in a perfect world would also receive a lengthy sentence.
She was my second cousin!
The laws protect the criminal
Why haven’t you posted in a while? We miss you!
This is why I do not agree with early release and heavily advocate for the death penalty. People don’t change.
The criminal justice system in the U.S. is a joke.
this happened about 10 miles from me. I hate how liberal my state is when it comes to this stuff. Stop letting them out to commit crimes again.
Why would she think she was late?
Awesome storytelling
Women are much safer now with this monster behind bars..
Great video 😊
Shelli Wiley Laramie WY 1984 still don't have a conviction for her cold case
Come on Washington, get with the program.
Oh they are definitely….Woke DA’s. Woke Judges. Woke Parole boards.
Davos. Soros.
The insanity will continue until our government is sanitized.
I loved when a case is solved now she can RIP and the damil can feel better to pray for time they had with them.
The usa court system is disgusting
Unbelevable!
Washington stats laws were in place to protect this type of monster. so glad law enforcement was able to beat the system.
Rest In Peace beloved one. May her family and friends are the young boys who found her be healed Blessings Be.
No worries good people he will be out on the street soon thanks to this Unjustice system.
Can you please cover the unsolved disappearance of Ayla Reynolds from Waterville, ME? She’s been missing since December of 2011. Nothing has come up since. No one is talking.
Why is it criminals who have a long rap sheet are allowed to continue with horrific crimes.
As sad as our criminal justice system is sometimes. Don't forget, criminals can fool people but they can't fool the universe. Crimes might go unpunished or not punished enough but I think karma always gets the final say.
He definitely looked like the composite drawing
🙏🙏🙏
He won't do that again.
sad story
WOW, This was such a really nice girl. So very, very sad.
