Carol was very, very brave to allow herself to be taken hostage in place of her friend. What she must have endured is terrifying to think about and she should be remembered for her sacrifice.
Hard to think of a more selfless act. What a loss to the world. I feel she would have achieved great things with her morals had that piece of excrement not entered her life.
It’s possible that the perp was abused (as a child) though, as well as a victim of prejudice themselves, not uncommon, doesn’t justify, but it helps explain in some of these cases.
I live about five minutes north of where Ms. Barrett was found. Thank you so much for the update, I was only 20 years old when that happened and had moved to Florida in Feb. It was big news here. It hit me as I was her age.
How dirty must your underwear be to not only leave them at a murder scene, but to return to that very scene for a second time specifically to dispose of evidence and still say "nah".
In 1975, I joined the Air Force, but didn’t report for 4 months, so, at age 18, I drove from East Texas to California to visit family for a very wonderful summer. I drove there (over 1300 miles each way), and all over CA, by myself. Good grief, I was so lucky. I’ll bet my Guardian Angel was exhausted!

Byron, A HUMAN BEING was murdered. Him being gay does not disqualify him from being human, but the lack of basic compassion on the cops part damn sure disqualifies them!
What evidence do we have that Byron’s sexual orientation led the police and the community to discard this brutal murder? Like many cases before high tech forensics; it simply went cold. Also note, police indicated Byron had a consensual sexual encounter with his murderer, thus the murderer was the very least bisexual. This case, like many old cold cases, was solved by both the police efforts then and renewed police efforts now. Good job with no discrimination noted. Seems a narrative is more important than the facts !
Jeffrey .who spoke about Byron's case, was right about what happens when you have to live in the shadows. Risk from violent partners is disproportionately high. When you feel you need to hide your relationship(s) from family and friends, you don't have that close network around you. It's easier for abusive partners to isolate their target.
Carol's case doesn't make sense to me. He had held countless people against their will, before making off with Carol. If it was to silence her so she couldn't say who he was, why, as all of her other friends had all seen him too, so they could all recognise him, or at least give a good description. I can only think that at some stage, she knocked off his glasses, thereby revealing his whole face, so he decided he had to k1ll her. So sad.
It took 36 years, but the only cold case on PEI was finally solved. Mr. Carr's murder was never forgotten by Islanders, we knew someday they would find the killer. Thanks to new DNA mapping it finally happened. Case closed. The family and all Islanders who knew and loved Mr. Carr can finally put him to rest.
Too tired to watch many of my notifications tonight, but gonna watch the two that are talking solved crimes....I want peace tonight...been too long hc hope everything's good
Its unfortunate that the last guy was able to get away with his crime by going out on his own terms. Infuriating when that happens especially when you know otherwise that you got them.
He got away with nothing. You don't kill yourself because you're so happy. He probably spent his last moments knowing any life he built for himself was about to end. His family and friends were all about to discover the man he truly was: a cold-blooded killer. He went to his grave in disgrace, in a dirty cab that was all his life amounted to. I repeat, he got away with nothing.
The PEI case always made my blood boil because of the pathetic homophobia that was patently the only reason this killer was never picked up. Half the island probably knew who it was and just thought it was a good job done at the time. Always nice to know your community will have your back 🙄😤 RIP Byron, you seemed like a cool guy.
I love HC, although the music at such a high volume is a deterrent. It is, I guess, an actual condition. In public places, if two different sources of music are playing (i.e. front of house and kitchen area radio) I need to quietly and quickly leave. For you, HC, I turn on the captioning, and mute the sound 😊! I do LOVE that you do not use random stock images, or a.i. ❤ Showing photos, etc for a long time has more of an impact, too.
For those unfamiliar with Prince Edward Island, the _entire_ population is only about 100K, and most of those people live in small towns/villages or on rural farms. Progressive is not an adjective used to describe the culture.
Please stop. Gays were out in the 80’s and the cops investigated and knew early on who did it and him being gay had nothing to do with no arrest’s being made. There was just no physical evidence they could use at the time as in many cases before DNA could be tested.. The killer was bi and his pals were probably also in the “community” so the reality is that the gay mafia exploited his death to promote their agenda and discouraged the “community” to speak out against one of their own.

The first case’s killer not being discriminate in what gender he slept with was so gross. Female DNA on his underwear, too. Your dog wasn’t safe around that guy🤮. The second case it was almost as if the parents had a gut feeling not wanting their daughter to go alone to Florida. Finally, when they consented, a serial killer abducts her, smh. The third case some random guy decided to murder cause he was caught in the act of burglary. It was most likely hanging over his head for a long time, so he finally just took his own life. I had missed your videos so much! Seeing a new one posted was such a good surprise, and I didn’t know about any of these cases!! Great work!!♥️

Byron's case is so tragic and frustrating. I was shocked the perpetrator left and MOVED BACK to the island?! He clearly never thought he'd get caught
