Wow. I had never heard of WSS until today. Thanks, Chris - for the introduction. After a bit of practice I managed to qualify for my Rookie license in my first 5 laps. I feel I'm off to a good start. So far I like what I see on the platform. I'll do my first race tomorrow.
Nice one Dave. The races are really quick and easy to hop into. You could do five in a single sitting if you had the time… the races are every 30mins and there’s no qualifying, so they literally take just 12 minutes. The first one I did, there were 16 entries but it divided into two splits of 8. That was a 0x, but the field spread out quite quickly so I drove most of it on my own. The race in the video was my second race, but I blew the 0x with that late mistake, so I still need to do four more. It looks like grid sizes might be a little on the light side, sadly, but I’m certainly going to try a few more once I get the AM licence. Hope you enjoy it!
Good to see you on WSS Chris, welcome on in! I only race AC on WSS now, having lost a bit of interest in LFM. I enjoy the platform, but the only problem tends to be the grids can be a little too small sometimes, where by the races aren't even classed as "official". Maybe with a bit more publicity, a few more people will jump in. I'm a pro-am licenced driver, but don't really race anything else than mazda's at the moment. Regarding the race, you did well to avoid 2 death traps. Shame about losing it on your own, but it's really easy to do here as the track really makes you want to use those curbs on corner entry, so it's to avoid them. Anyway, good luck, and who knows, maybe I'll see on track at some point in the near future 👍🏻 In totally un-related news, great result for the Argyle at the weekend!
Yeah, I’m really only looking for some Mazda racing on fun tracks, so hopefully I’ll be able to find some decent grid sizes occasionally. Yes, fantastic result for Argyle, I was sat right where Cissoko cut in to score those two late goals, so was a perfect view 💚
Awh man I felt that pain. Great race though! Mistakes be costing too much to reflect how well we really do. We better than those p15s we be getting sometimes 😂😂😂

Cheers Lee! Yeah, I was enjoying the race so much, I forgot the main goal was 0x incident points and ended up throwing everything at it! Was great fun.
Moved from LFM to WSS a while back as the racing is generally cleaner. Unlucky not to get your first clean race but with races every 30 minutes it's easy to get out of Rookies in a single evening if you wanted to. Who knows we raced before on LFM maybe we will again on WSS.
That’s good to know, John. Are there any particular days/times where the grid sizes are better? And any other good options that open up after you’ve done the five clean rookie races?
@chrisrogerssimracing New for season 4 that has just started yesterday ( Monday ) is the BMW M235 Cup fixed setup with 6 min qualifying and 2x 15min races with top 5 reversed for race 2. Also the Leon Cup Series fixed setup with 6min qualifying and 20min race. Both series are AM licence minium so you need to get out of rookies to do those.
@@John74YT Excellent, particularly liking the sound of the M235i Cup. I’m only one more clean rookie race away from getting the AM now, so hopefully I’ll get that one this week. Maybe see you on track again!
Well, good race till that last lap, at least not last! I looked at WSS awhile back but didn't do the rookie races, my look at it again soon, but really kinda want to get back into lfm on both platforms although I've never thought much of ACC' s feel, like I'm most of the time not touching the track! Thanks for sharing w us Buddy!!!
I know exactly what you mean about the ACC ‘feel’ Walt. I’m the same. I have got used to it now, and like the feel, but it took a VERY long time. And also ACC being my weekly sim too. When I take a week off and race in other sims, it almost ‘resets’ my muscle memory, and ACC feels weird again when I go back! The World Sim Series platform looks really good, but sadly the grid sizes may be a little light. Low Fuel Motorsport is definitely the best for finding those full grids.
Yeah, none have really interested me. And some would have been a new track requiring learning, like Valencia this week, which I just didn’t have time to do. When I saw World Sim Series was running Okayama, I thought that was the perfect excuse to give it a try. Very decent combo.
THE GODZILLA CUP HAD SOME PRETTY GOOD TRACKS.. BATHURST, ISTANBULL, QTAR ETC.. dunno why i was shouting but yeah had some very interesting tracks ive never races...today they got f1 2004s at spa and porche cups and tcr mult iclass at mugello as part of the off season
Sorry to see it didn't work out to get the clean race. But looks like it should be easy enough to get out of rookies on that platform with short races like that. People seemed cleaner there than rookies on LFM too.
Yeah, the races are so quick, it will be easy to rattle through them. I did another but banged some doors on lap 1, but two more after that were both clean. Not sure if the grid sizes will be very big, but the racing is certainly fun.
Nice race Chris - unlucky near the end. Those MX5's seem a bit lively on the rear at times - probably just like the real thing 😂 Looking ahead to the new generation of AC too in 2025... see what that brings.
Ahh Rob yeah, me too. I really hope it lives up to the expectation AND has a great multiplayer platform in-game - without having to rely on third-party platforms like LFM and this WSS one. Fingers crossed!
Ahh yeah, it’s a shame. I was hoping to see bigger entry lists when I signed on. Ideally I like to find grids with 12+ drivers at the very least. Hopefully I can get a few more decent ones like this, though.
Try it out today, gotta say I already like the interface more but the server where dead, joined a race and was the only one so it got cancelled 😢 will retry tomorrow again.
Ahh yeah that’s a shame. Luckily, the times I’ve been on, there have always been 10+ entries. A couple of times, it divided into 2 splits and we only had 6-8 on the grid. Which is a bit of a shame, but made it easier to have a clean 0x race at least.
Hey Steve, yeah you do. Just three questions on the main bits of their driving etiquette. But they were multiple choice and fairly straightforward to get. Cheers 😃
Even in the "little" Mazda, you bring us quite a show!! Interesting race, with lots of incidents and fight for positions...yeahhhh! Too bad you didn´t achieve your main goal, ending with no incidents, but maybe next time I would say. WSS is nice (I still give it a go from time to time), but not giving us a chance to qualify and tune the MX5, thats a bummer for me, thats why I prefer LFM on that matter. Will we see more action from AC/MX5? 🙂 Cheers!! 🙂
Yes, definitely more AC/MX5 to come. Hopefully next season there will be some good combos on the LFM schedule, but I’m also going to continue with this WSS series a little longer. It’s a shame there aren’t bigger entry lists. I’ll have to try and aim for the most popular race times.
Watching hte way Gouya handles that car, I think he might have been cheating. I could be wrong of course, but he was faster around every corner, than every other car, regardless what line he took. Fun race Chris, thanks :)
Oooh interesting. I hadn’t even thought about that, but yeah you’re right, he was crazy fast. Must have lost 30secs doing that drive through penalty, and still caught up easily within a couple of laps. I’ve seen a lot of talk about cheating lately, but never thought about whether it would happen in my splits. Always thought it was more of an elite / esports thing!
Great avoidance skills there mate, shame about the curb nearly turning you and the spin at the end but well done nonetheless. The problem with the cars interactions with the kerbs is a game engine issue. It's my opinion that the physics calculations seem to include the turn angle of the steering into the math because if you were to take the same kerb with a lesser steering angle you wouldn't have the same scale of reaction (but i could be wrong on that). 👍
Yeah, touching the kerb is a really bizarre sensation. I mean, I’m no physics expert! But I found it was really weird that grazing the kerb with your front right tyre, had such a dramatic effect on the two rear tyres (which hadn’t even touched the kerb!) I definitely try to avoid any contact at all with them now, but it’s difficult (particularly when you make a pass up the inside).
Ahhh maybe, but even if he did, I reckon he would still have hit me. It didn’t feel like I was going to save the spin… the oversteer was really aggressive, and I think I was heading into the barrier anyway… with or without contact 🤣
Me too! Given the high participation numbers it still gets on Steam. I’d love to do more Assetto Corsa multiplayer. The WSS platform looks really good, but it doesn’t look like the grids are very big here either, sadly. I really hope AC Evo will be a game-changer.
Good race, real shame about the spin. I'm sure youll get out of rookies quickly. I've only done a couple of races in WSS, also at Yokohama, but I really didn't like the track.
Ahh, see I know the track really well from my early iRacing days. It’s one of the free tracks on there, so I know it like the back of my hand. Not that you’d have known from my spin in this one 🤣
Yeah, im also at a loss at the choice of mods on LFM, the Ferrari they used a while back was terrible, not a fan of the current GTR, or track rotation this week. There's much better base content available and quality of mods.
I just cannot get my SA up in ACC. I didn't know about SA when I first got the game, now I'm stuck in the 70's with tons and tons of driving ahead of me to recover it... Sortof a dumb system. Should let your reset once every few months IMO.
So in ACC, I believe you can build up SA with offline AI races. Apparently it can increase quite quickly if you spend long spells driving closely by another car (without contact). So if you set AI levels to a safe number, then just do a few AI races where you concentrate on driving right behind or alongside, rather than trying to overtake, you might see it increase a bit quicker 👍 good luck
Farming SA in ACC can be done very swiftly in offline mode, follow these steps for the quickest way to maximize it. The purests will get mad at you though lol. 1 Go into the options and make sure that you have SA switched on in offline mode rather than multiplayer only. 2 Select whatever track you feel most comfortable following around the AI cars very closely in a train. Set the AI level at the max you are comfortable with to follow closely without any issues. If you are able to do quick races at night with light rain for maximizing the points you're awarded but only if you're comfortable in those conditions. 3 Just drive following the train as close as you can but also avoiding contact or incidents at all costs as this will detract from getting points awarded. I personally have not got into ACC but I did do my license run for LFM and make sure i had all safety requirements etc just in case i wanted to and using this technique i found online got my SA from 0 to 95 in a couple of hours.
Yeah I’ve seen a lot of talk about that this week. Definitely not seen anything in my races, but then again, I’m nowhere near fast enough to even spot any signs of cheating 🤣
Although someone else has now pointed out strong suspicions about whether Gouya was cheating, based on the way his car was behaving. It’s very possible I guess. I just never expected to see anything like it in one of my splits. I assumed it was an elite / esports level problem.
